I dunno. i really get the feeling that the fishing pole comment was a way to explain why DR will be found at the lake. I doubt they had dogs tracking MR's scent at the lake. and he could have said he went there to look for DR when he noticed the fishing pole missing. he said he was out looking for DR all day Monday, so he could place himself anywhere he needs an excuse to be, saying he was looking for DR.

But *if* Dylan was there then why was his rucksack not on the shore line ?

I doubt Dylan would of fished with his bag on his back so that's why I do not believe he is there .

IMO , it make more sense to send LE on a while goose chase and hope nature takes its cause over the harsh winter months in a different location .

He is asked to address Dylan.
But instead of saying to Dylan to contact his family if Dylan is able, he goes on how Dylan was the light of his life and how much Dylan meant to him. Does that sound like coming from someone who thinks his son is alive out there somewhere?

this seems to happen every single time... in every case.. it even did in Jessica Ridgeway's case and look what happened there? I don't put much into tense or word choice imhoo:twocents:

"Mark Redwine told The Denver Post he hired a criminal lawyer to watch his back while he presses the search for his 13-year-old son, Dylan Redwine, who disappeared from the Pine River Valley two weeks ago."

Other news articles just said that MR had consulted with a defense attorney. Both were after the extensive forensic search and interview.

Ahhh ok thanks, so it has changed. I gotta say he needs a lawyer watching his back guilty or not.

Question for azgrandma, in your experience, is MR someone who attends church services?

In the two interviews where he went on camera he said Dylan "is in his prayers." Of course I realize many people who pray do not actually attend any churches.

He is asked to speak directly to Dylan--and he does not do that, imo. Instead he speaks of him as if he KNOWS he is dead, and in a way that is defensive about whether he loved him or not.

yes, and he sounds very defensive about being cooperative and all that. like he's explaining himself and what he's been doing. it comes off weird.

Geesh... 30+ pages in less than a day.

Just so sad for Dylan. And frustrated.

Sad for his young friends who should not be experiencing this horror.

Heartbroken for ER who's done nothing but be a fierce momma exposing her soul as her child's been snatched off the face of this earth, apparently.

I'm discouraged by all the silence but I hope it means LE is going to bust someone sooner than later.

R: Do you have anything directly to say to Dylan?

M: Dylan, my prayers are with you and I love you very much.

That's pretty direct imo.

Is that going to help find Dylan? He isn't asking to Dylan contact anyone. And after that he goes into "He was the light of my life and he meant everything to me."

This is just my opinion, obviously, but my feeling is that the silence from LE does not bode well for MR. I really believe that LE would be remiss in this level of continued silence if their primary suspicions pointed toward an abduction. I know there is no hard and fast rule regarding silence from LE but it is difficult to think of another time with this degree of silence where the parents weren't, or still aren't under suspicion, even if not officially.

Again, I am sure someone will come up with an example...but, IMO, it is highly unusual for LE to say nothing at all for so long, if they believe a child has been taken away by a predator.

But now I am wondering why someone would not have just left the backpack on the shore if they wanted him to be assumed to be in the lake.

it is what it is. I don't think it means anything other than that is the way he speaks.:twocents:

Well...my mom is in my prayers and I love her very much. But she is no longer with us.

Just seems like one little sentence that might be directed toward Dylan, and an entire paragraph about himself.

Because the backpack was heavy and would act like a weight?

Right, ' ",my prayers are with you. " That is what I post to people I have never met who are having health problems. ' My prayers are with you?...'

Does that sound like a father reaching out to his missing 13 yr old?

simply by saying "take the focus off of me", he not only places focus ON him, but he also misses an opportunity to do what parents are desperate to do when their child is missing out there - communicate with them. He also clearly states his agenda - that people stop looking at him. very transparent. and a bigger concern for him than communicating with his child or with whomever may have his child. or even asking for community help. it's very curious.

I'm going to agree to disagree because I just don't see it that way and never will.

That's been problematic from the first time I heard it. Can't get past it.

I can deal with past tense here and there, "everyone does it".

I can NOT understand how you are asked to speak DIRECTLY to your MISSING SON and you respond like he does (NOT responding to your son, responding in past tense).

It sounded like he was speaking at memorial for Dylan. It made me sick when I heard him say that and still does... I'm sure it's just because MR is "not that emotional of a guy" and doesn't want to break down on camera (or something like that) so he won't make a public plea for his son... or because if Dylan is being held somewhere by some sicko, the sicko's probably not watching TV so Dylan probably won't see this ..or -insert reason here-

The hinky meter explodes when I watch this video.
