He did plead guilty to disorderly conduct when the one bunch was charged, but Azg might be better able to remember what the first one was since it was before their divorce, IIRC.

I'm wondering about LE doing another search. I know when they did the 12/8 search, this was reported:

The search is not prompted by any new leads in the case, according to the La Plata County Sheriff's Office. It is a common route between Durango and Vallecito, where Dylan was last seen. Investigators want to cover that area ahead of a possible snow fall that may hit the area Saturday night or Sunday.

Whether there was more to the search than that or not, we don't know (cell pings? something else?).

But there are clearly other places along the route from the airport back to the house (Sunday night) and from the house to ---> hitch-hiking route? (Monday morning). Unless there's snow on the ground or it's too frigid to search, why not organize another search to look for clues, especially if the first one was as random as LE insists it was.

I think especially in an area like Colorado, random searches are really pointless, because there are such vast wilderness areas there where one could easily dispose of a body. Where would they begin? So many hours elapsed between the time his phone went dead and the time he was reported missing...Dylan could be anywhere.

Not just you or this thread, but I've seen a lot of posters express this thought throughout WS and I don't think I've ever seen it happen. Just wishful thinking. :twocents:

I'm not sure. I believe he was charged with it twice. I know it was dismissed the one time, but I can't remember what happened the other time.

JMO but I didn't get the impression it was random. They just said it didn't come from a tip. They may have determined it was the route they drove Sunday night or were looking for the phone, etc.

I agree, so I think the search at VLake and the one search they did were targeted for specific reasons. Of course LE wouldn't say so publicly. So their actions are far more telling than their words, IMO.. something led them to those places. But then I'm left wondering what led them there and why didn't they find anything.. or did they?

Is it possible anything found on the search is still being processed? I highly doubt that, this case is a priority... but it hasn't yet been 4 full weeks since the search. Even if everything was put on rush, would results all be back yet? Again I doubt it, but who knows. Well, LE knows... but that doesn't help us.

The question isn't whether that's the route Dylan would have taken. It's the route that the person who had Dylan took.

You have a point, but not necessarily if he started hitch-hiking on a certain road, he had to start somewhere. Although nobody in this small community saw him.

I am making an assumption there were cars on the road driving. I used to hitch-hike to my old house about 1 1/2 hrs. away & would take the busiest route.

Apparently none because LE has not said a thing about an "official" sighting. They ruled out a couple alleged sightings, I think.

IIRC I believe he plead guilty to a theft charge in the early 90's as well which would make it approximately 30 years ago, give or take a few years.


Those are the only 2 that I am aware of or have seen.

If you look up the address on google maps, you can see how isolated the area is....even though there are houses, most of them are vacation homes, I believe.

The reporter from the Durango Herald when he spoke to DH showed video of the drive two times. That would give one an idea if that was the route taken.

Also I did find on youtube a couple of videos of the drive. I don't have the links handy but HTH.

If there's only one way in and one way out, that cuts down on choices a bit. When we hitch hiked, we normally took the shortest/most direct route, but it seldom took more than one or two cars to get a ride. I think it might make a difference whether you're well known in the area, and I lived in a small town back then.

They ruled out some, but I don't believe they did with all of them. I know they haven't confirmed any of them, but that doesn't necessarily mean they didn't happen. IMO
