Not sure if anyone remembers this pre-historic social media site called MySpace (it was popular when they still delivered milk to your house in bottles), but it looks like MR has a profile there. If you search his name, one of the results is "mark, 51, BAYFIELD, colorado" and in the profile pic is a guy who looks to be him sitting in the driver's seat of a dark Jeep. However the profile is set to private and you can't see the last login date.

I would like to say that none of the results are MR (JR) just to clarify.
Unless there's another MRedwine, 51 in Bayfield CO it appears that he may have had an account at some point so although nothing can really be taken from it, I do wonder if he uses the computer/internet much or more than we previously thought. Maybe he's reading along here right now. ooh!

I suspect his computer may be elsewhere at this time. But who knows? Maybe the police didn't even check that.

Does anyone remember when MR said something like "His mother's making more of this than it needs to be"? If so, do you remember what it was in regards to?

In response to your request for a link:

"I was married to Mark for a lot of years, and I know the way he reacts to things," the mother told ABC News. "If Dylan maybe did or said something that wasn't what Mark wanted to hear, I'm just afraid of how Mark would have reacted."

The mother also told ABC News she believes her ex-husband was upset that she was the court-mandated primary custodian of their son.

"I don't think Mark treats him very well," the mother said. "I would not put it past Mark to have done something to remove Dylan from the situation. You know, like 'if I can't have him, nobody will.'"

In a phone interview with 7NEWS, Mark Redwine responded to his ex-wife's remarks by saying she is making this "more than it needs to be."

The father added that he "needs to not lash out" at his ex-wife.

I'm sure it never occurred to them, maybe we should ping it to see where it is! :truce:

Ah, thanks for that. It's too bad the reporter didn't report the question that was asked that lead to that answer. He could be talking about their past issues, and saying, eh...it wasn't really all that bad. Or he could be saying that Elaine actually *is* making more of the situation (Dylan disappearing) than it needs to be.

My guess is it's the FIRST one, but the reporter sure did a good job of murking that conversation up.

Saying that he "needs to not lash out" is an interesting choice of words, however.

My impression of it was that he meant she was making more of him not answering her texts/calls than need be. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary in that comment. The press really seems to be trying to get those two into a public battle, and I think he was just saying that he didn't think it was the time for lashing out at her in retaliation (if there ever really is a good time for it.) I'm sure many people will interpret things differently than that, but it's still MNSHO.

But the not answering of texts/calls wasn't even brought up during that conversation, was it? It would be VERY odd for him to be commenting on something that hadn't even been asked. (rather than what was mentioned in the article)

I guess you never know though, because this article makes it about as clear as mud what he was talking about.

I don't know why but this case is making me think of Hailey Dunn, as i had thought she would be found very quickly at first, as i did with Dylan, and here it is two years now. Maybe it is the convoluted family backgrounds that seem similar and that they were the same age when they vanished. And both were gone from their beds according to a parent.

I don't believe MR ever claimed that Dylan vanished from his bed. He said that he found a cereal bowl in the sink and the TV on, indicating that Dylan had gotten up. That's why he thought he either went to the lake or hitchhiked to a friend's house.

I keep hoping for a break and yet noting and with the weather the way it is I wonder If this will be the case until the show melts .

I just can not get past the fact that I think something happened Sunday night and how long of a time frame that left for a possible clean up ... MOO

Well...last seen in bed, allegedly.

Hi everyone. This is such a sad case, and I hope a breakthrough will come along in time. As I read through this thread, I saw some information being stated fairly categorically - regarding both Family Court records and Child Protective Services records - that actually does not jibe with the reality. In the first place, regarding divorce court records and related matters in family court, the reality throughout the US and specifically in Colorado, the very strong legal presumption is that those records will be open records. It requires a motion to be made, strong reasons to back up the motion, and a judge's decision to seal any record in a family court, and generally the judge won't seal the whole record, but only the narrowest part of it required to protect the privacy interest that the judge may determine to outweigh the public's right to transparent courts. There's a quick, broad overview of the matter at this link:
http://family.findlaw.com/divorce/divorce-records-and-privacy.html

In terms of child protective services, those agencies are State agencies, just as criminal and family courts are, and subject to State laws, which vary by state, just as is true with the court system. While there is pertinent federal legislation that guides the states in making laws about CPS records, there are many people, including law enforcement investigators, who are authorized to see and use information in CPS records, and it still varies by state. There's a good, although not terribly recent, overview of that at this link:
http://www.ncsl.org/Portals/1/documents/cyf/29nina.pdf

I have confidence the investigators in Dylan's case would not be prohibited from accessing any pertinent records available in state agencies, as long as they would know such records exist and take proper steps to obtain them. I just wanted to make that point. Thanks.

I wanted to update some information I posted a few days ago regarding what police and reporters have said about Dylan running away because I found a new quote from police.

"Investigators are no longer looking at the possibility of Dylan being a runaway," he said in the release, "but we still view this as a search and not a recovery effort."
November 28 updated November 29 - Dan Bender
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_22083134#ixzz2H6ad5Z4C

"We've been doing a potential criminal investigation, looking at abduction, kidnapping or foul play. We haven't closed out the possibility he has run away and we're still going door to door. We have an absence of clues. It's a mystery, that's what makes it so frustrating," he said.
November 29th Dan Bender
http://abcnews.go.com/m/story?id=17837843&sid=81

It appears that Bender's first statement gave the media the impression that the run away theory had been "ruled out", and so he corrected it the next day, but the media was on a runaway (pun intended) train.

Psychic Sleuth, you had asked me if LE stated after November 29th that they didn't believe Dylan had run away.

We all have to do our own research and come to our own conclusions, but I can share with you what I have in my notes and the conclusion I've come to on it -

- Nov 26 - direct police quote that they have not ruled out any scenario (Ransom recently linked this)

- Nov 28 - reports start saying that police "don't believe" "don't think" "no longer looking at" run away theory

- Nov 29 - direct police quote that run away theory is not closed out (I recently linked this)

- after Nov 29 - reports continue with no quotes saying that police have "ruled out" run away

I concluded that it was a case of the police saying something like "we don't think he ran away because of passage of time, no one has heard from him, etc.", and it turned into Reporters Gone Wild and stretching it to "ruled out".

From what I know, police very rarely "rule out" a theory or scenario. It would cause big problems for the DA at trial, not to mention the egg on their face and scoffing and laughing of them, loss of trust in their community, etc if it turned out they were wrong. I see police all the time in these cases saying "We think/don't think" and "we believe/don't believe"

JMO IMO MOO etc

Can I just say that I am so impressed with the systems the US has put in place to assist with locating missing persons?

The reasons for developing the systems are sad, but the systems are actually quite impressive.
