Do you have a link for either Dylan's mom or R saying the time was 8? I see a reporter and Ellie Jostad from NG saying 8, and a reporter saying just after 8. I see texts between 8:01 and 9:27 with no times on them.

From your link, the actual texts after 8pm - between 8:01 and 9:27 - which I posted last night, and which have been posted and discussed here a number of times.

I can not and will not pretend they don't exist. Everyone else, of course, can do as they please.

Dylan: (time 8:01 p.m. Nov. 18) yea

R: Oh ok

Dylan: can I come over early lkke 6 30 early tomarrow

R: Yeah

Dylan: you better let me in

R: I will

R: im gonna be at my gmas

Dylan: i call (you) all day if you dont

R: Ok

Dylan: will you gma care or be up

R: Just come around to were the sliding door is were that room is and knock on it and i will wake up

R: (Time 9:27 p.m. Nov. 18) Call me when you get here too

If he said yea, at 8:01, they could conceivably (and easily) be done with the convo by 8:03. And then R. could have sent that other text later.

There are too many people saying that the texting ended shortly after 8. There is nothing saying Dylan was still texting at 9:27. Why would Elaine allow that to be on the facebook and in several articles if it were not true?

I believe the reporters were told this by Elaine and by R.N. I do not believe they were mis-quoted, and I do not believe they mis-spoke.

All but the last call from R were at 8:01. I don't see anything to show Dylan made any calls after that time.

<modsnip>

There are no times on those texts. You can assume they're at any time you like. I will wait for actual times.

Does anyone know if DR's paternal grandparents are still alive and if so where do they live? I am asking about Mark's parents. Not sleuthing them, just wondering if they are in the picture and are helping MR thru this. tia

I just happened across this, looking for something else:

After Dylan arrived in Durango on Nov. 18, father and son grabbed dinner and went by Walmart to pick up groceries for the week, Mark said. Dylan was visiting on a court-ordered visit.

Mark hadn’t heard much from his son lately, but that night the two hardly had a chance to talk about how Dylan liked his new home, he said. http://www.durangoherald.com/article/20121215/NEWS01/121219687/-1/news01&source=RSS

This is what I consider a possible discrepancy in MR's version of what happened before he left that morning as he has said described it differently on another occasion to the effect of nudging him awake and he understood. It is possible it might be the reporter's error or it might not be.

From the same article:

Mark said he tried to wake his son the next morning around 7:30 before leaving to run errands, but Dylan was fast asleep.

I'm sorry, what's the discrepancy?

Heck, with those few blurb texts, they were probably ALL made within the 8:01 time.

I'm not assuming, opining or speculating. I am going by what was reported, through msm, several different times, by people who love Dylan and want him home. I do not believe they are making this up.

Elaine said she saw the phone records. She said they ended shortly after 8 pm. (almost exactly at 8) RN says the last text he received from Dylan was at 8.

I'm going to have to go with what the people closest to the investigation (and actually participated in the conversation) have to say about it.

From my post "as he has said described it differently on another occasion to the effect of nudging him awake and he understood. It is possible it might be the reporter's error or it might not be".

How can he be asleep if he indicated he understood? :banghead:

It is hard for anyone to speak about the times from the quote. It is obvious that Dylan texted back past the 8:01 time, but none of the other times are stated from Dylan after that. Am I missing something? Because the link provided does not show me any times for Dylan's last few texts. On phone records that ER would have seen, would have given exact times. So if ER stated that about Dylan's last text times, I believe her.

This site is based out of Colorado Springs, perhaps a friend of ER?

Maybe a relative. I found it on a relative's fb page.

You're free, of course, to speculate based on what reporters and the NG producer said. I'm going to wait for actual times. I'm free to do that.

And now I'd like to agree to disagree, and move on.

Well maybe I missed this big controversy, but when the text messages were shown on R's phone, I don't see how there could be any confusion.
The first texts were all exchanged at the 8:01 time. It shows that on the phone. The last text was from R at 9:27, which also shows the time. What is the big discrepancy? I don't get it.

Well was he fast asleep, or were they having a conversation?

Snip 1 was from Sunday night, snip 2 was from Monday morning.

Again, what's the discrepancy?

If you look at the blurbs on the left hand side of the page (in light grey) about halfway down the page it says "R.N. received his last text from Dylan just after 8 p.m."

The texts were ALL during the 8:01 minute because otherwise the phone would show the time change!
This is pretty simple!
Where the texts were made at a different times, the phone shows the time!

ETA: It's nothing to text 5-10 times during the same minute. I guess I really don't see how this can even be construed as questionable!

Seems to me it is all about raising money. I guess that's okay. Just my observation after looking at site.

I will agree to disagree but please quit accusing me of speculating when I'm quoting msm, the mother, who saw the records, and the other child who participated.

I am only reporting what has been said several times in several newspapers, using two very good sources. Frankly, I'm at a loss at how anyone could speculate, opine, or otherwise imagine anything other than what has been reported.
