He will likely never communicate regardless of what she or anyone does or doesn't do. MOO

Maybe not with ER, but it appears he is communicating/cooperating with LE and that is what is most important at this point.

Unless of course that has changed, but at this point, we don't have that information.

Do NOT bring the facebook war here. They can do as they wish and as they see fit on their social media pages. It does not affect us and the bickering will not be brought here.

All postings on social media are considered rumor because they cannot not be confirmed. No big deal. If you want to go there and discuss them, that's fine. Just don't bring it back here, okay?

If you have questions about what is allowed, please pm a mod.

Nope. I just think the fact that no one is talking about Dylan on Twitter tells me that a lot of people don't know about the case. Well, I guess that's obvious. There is really no one spreading the word on Twitter. On the FB page, they say they plan on doing a "state by state" social media campaign, so they do want to get the word out to many people. I don't see why not to involve Twitter too. Try to get some celebrities to re-tweet about Dylan. Just tweet about him in general, etc.

Thanks Eileen. I don't know squat about tweets so I was curious about it. Do you believe that Dylan's family would be well advised to use Twitter more in their search for him. And how would they do that most efficiently. What I mean is how do you get celebrities on-board? How to you generate the most exposure?

IIRC, Dwayne Chapman, Dog the Bounty Hunter's son, tweeted about Dylan a week or two ago? I don't have/use twitter, so I don't have the link.

I've been looking for an LE statement IIRC, about there not being an abduction, but, something criminal

anyone recall something like that from LE..? I cant find it

KateNY...there were reports back at the end of Dec which mentioned it was a criminal investigation.

Authorities have said they don't believe the boy ran away and have called his disappearance a criminal investigation

I don't think any social media outlet should be used more, just that every outlet possible to get the word out should be utilized.

Here's an article about social media in the Lauren Spierer case: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/mi...auren-spierer-search-social/story?id=13831207

In that case, they got celebrities like Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian, who have millions of followers to re-tweet about Lauren.

So a family member of Dylan's should tweet a bunch of celebrities and hopefully that celebrity re-tweets to millions of followers who would then know about Dylan. It seems almost too easy. But I guess it isn't.

It's all about getting a celebrity to become interested in the case.

That's been my question. How do you go about getting their attention?

I am just saying that someone like Justin Bieber has 30 million followers on Twitter, and if he were to tweet about that case, a lot of people would become aware of it. No, it is not easy at all to get a celebrity to tweet about it, but it can't hurt to try. And I don't think they should just focus on celebrity twitters. I don't see any reason not to use Twitter if you want to get the word out about a case.

I think the best thing to do is just bombard them. Send them direct messages, reply to all of their tweets with a tweet about Dylan, asking for a re-tweet.

Maybe focus on getting celebrities who are from Colorado or have a connection (sports stars) to tweet about Dylan?

With Mark still refusing to speak to the family it just backs up my theory this is about punishing Elaine .

Even if he is agreeing to talk to LE it does not lessen Elaine's pain when she wants answers about " that night"

IMO

You could be right, but could it also be possible that Mark is hesitant to talk to Elaine because he feels that she is publicly attacking him?

But by not speaking to her you give her more ammo to publicly attack you, no ? .

To me he is coming across as totally selfish here if he is in innocent . Why is he trying to make Elaine's and his seconds sons pain worse by refusing to speak to them ?

Maybe the same reason she was trying to make his pain worse by publicly stating that he'd hurt DR and that he'd not taken/failed/"inconclusively" passed a lie detector?

That is, maybe not intentionally?

I guess it depends on how you look at things. Maybe he knows that speaking to his ex wife will not change anything. Maybe he is innocent.

Why does him not responding to personnel attacks cause Elaine or his second son any pain?

Him refusing to speak to them is causing them pain. They want answers and as he is the last one to admitting to see Dylan last then why wont he speak to them if they have questions ?

it makes no sense and shows a complete lack of compassion IMO.

I dont blame Elaine here as she is doing all she can to bring Dylan home and as far as i can see Mark is doing next to nothing.

Well he is not exactly helping himself here . I do not compare there reactions the same here as one is not linked to Dylan's disappearance at all.

All i can see is one parent doing all they can to bring there son home and the other one with all the info on Dylan's last night who is not reaching out to bring his son home and ignoring his family .

Looks like we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

I see it as a two way street with the pain flowing in both directions.

BBM - I guess this is true if your compassion is only for one person. MR is Dylan's dad. Something happened to Dylan on MR's watch. If he is innocent - that's a lot of guilt to carry around, a lot of pain, a lot of worry and a lot of stress. To top it off, your ex is in the media blaming you. Certainly wouldn't make him feel any better. Why would he want to talk to her? Why? That makes no sense to me and shows a total lack of compassion on ER's part, to my mind.

I have compassion for ER, but I also have some for MR, which I will throw out the window if he is guilty. But for now, it doesn't appear that there is any evidence against him, except some circumstantial stuff and, for now, it is just not strong enough to knock me off the fence.
