Didn't want your post to get lost with the exciting news that Fruit Tingles is here flashing pictures of her darling baby girl.

We had some discussion on this topic yesterday. What if Dylan was suppose to only disappear for a short period of time, say to make Dad look irresponsible, so that he lost visitation rights? But what if it wasn't thought through very well and wasn't expected to take on a life of it's own the way it was???

Or what Dylan really didn't want to visit his Dad so someone helped him to disappear during the time the visitation was suppose to take place and then come back when it was over?? But again, what if it wasn't thought through very well and it wasn't expected to take on a life of it's own? And what if no one expected Mom to be so devastated by news her boy was missing?? And if no one thought there would be National News Media and billboards, and talk shows, etc.?

What if a simple little thing created a situation so big, that now they didn't know how to get out of it, how to come back from it without major legal issues??? This might be what was meant by the statement, "it went too far." It was suppose to end in days, not months. Just some speculation on my part.

Has it really "taken on a life of its own"? There's only one billboard, right? And that took 2 months to put up. I believe the only national coverage was GMA and Nancy Grace, and that was in the beginning. Elaine says she is having a hard time getting media attention. I know there is the facebook page with 8000 people, but I think they would assume that there would be *something* for a missing child. Unless they thought there would be absolutely nothing done to find Dylan or get the word out...

Thousands of flyers being handed out, local police and FBI involvement, things like that, things I don't think were thought about before coming up with a plan like this. How many of us got on GMA or Nancy Grace? Those are both national programs. It's all relative.

As far as we know MR's house & vehicles were the only ones searched. Although they did check vacant & abandoned buildings in the area.

I imagined boofa was a reference to Anaya's chubbiness :) FruitTingles ... you will have to explain or you know we might start debating the meaning!!

And she is a beautiful bub - well done FT :)

Well done! I think her beauty is one thing that nobody here will argue about. Enjoy every minute of her infancy, it doesn't last long.

It seems very...naive...to think the police won't get involved in a missing child case. It may have been on GMA and Nancy Grace, but that was only about 1-2x, two months ago. Maybe to them, the case has received a lot of media coverage, though. Aren't you basically saying they thought Dylan would go missing...and there would be no LE involvement (and LE isn't even talking so it's not like they are being very clear publicly that they are still working on the case), nothing posted about him on social media, not even local coverage?

How would anyone expect that a mother wouldn't be devastated about her missing child?

How would it ever be looked at as a simple little thing to 'disappear' a child?

I cannot see anyone trying something like this just to make MR look bad. The only person that would have that motivation is ER---and I think there is about ZERO percentages of a chance that she is involved.

I took a few days break because this case was literally starting to affect my day-to-day life and it depresses me that it seems like we basically have nothing new. I am holding onto a shred of hope that maybe they are preparing a case of some sort or a resolution will come soon. Please do not let this become a cold case.

And beautiful baby posted :)

When you consider what that dude said, it would fit. It went too far. The only other type of "went too far" would be for someone to have harmed Dylan and since I don't ascribe to that one, this one works for me. It's ok it it doesn't work for anyone else. It's an option that doesn't include Dylan being dead, which is fine with me. If it wasn't thought through, like I said, there is no easy way out of it now.

What the guy said is a rumor and makes no sense whatsoever. No one would go this far to hold a child, who is alive, to make someone look bad. What would be gained? To make MR look bad? He already did that to himself, in the past.

I was reading in the Kara Nichols case where the parents made themselves available to talk to media, and no reporters showed up. It just seems like unless a case has a twist or something that would sensationalize the case, the news media is not interested. Kara disappeared in October and her case has gotten very little media in months.

It's sad to see so many missing persons out there and after the intitial reports, the media just isn't interested, until they are found, either dead or alive. If they are found dead, they got more of a story out of it later if there is an arrest and a trial. If they are found alive, it's not newsworthy any longer.

If you need something to help you hang onto your theory, go read about Daniel Christensen. He's Dylan's age and ran away for longer than Dylan has been gone. It may be highly improbable, but at least it's slightly possible. MOO
