I agree and how long after he was reported missing did LE go to MR's. Was it that night? Oh no, I just thought of something. If the texts that R made to DR on Monday re: that his dad was looking for him and his mother was worried, why aren't texts from MR there or ER, or anyone? Or maybe the transcript isn't a complete compliation of all the phone activity that day. Just what was between the phone and R. But, why not have the whole call/text history. Does that make sense to anyone? tia

Because those texts were provided by R. Remember Dylan's phone is missing?

LE is not going to show the public Dylan's phone records. They are part of the ongoing investigation.

Yes! I believe we're only seeing what was obtained from Ryan's phone - not anything that was on Dylan's/Mark's/Elaine's or Cory's phone.

That's true that his phone is missing, but not the cell phone records from the provider. I wasn't sure where those came from. But the fact is the records can be gotten. I am sure they have been. jmo

I'm sure LE has Dylan's phone records and I'm sure they will not be showing them to the public.

I wish there were times on ALL of these texts. Especially the last one.

Ryan: (time 7:45 p.m. Nov. 18) Did your dad say no
Dylan: (time 8:01 p.m. Nov. 18) yea
Ryan: Oh ok
Dylan: can I come over early lkke 6 30 early tomarrow
Ryan: Yeah
Dylan: you better let me in
Ryan: I will
Ryan: im gonna be at my gmas
Dylan: i call (you) all day if you dont
Ryan: Ok
Dylan: will you gma care or be up
Ryan: Just come around to were the sliding door is were that room is and knock on it and i will wake up

The big question is: did he contact anyone else other than Ryan that night? We have Ryan's texts with Dylan, but only the records will show anything else. I think LE is holding those for a reason. I just don't know what the reason is, other than it's something only the perp would know - and info that is important to a successful prosecution, more so than to the investigation, maybe?

Someone mentioned above that the phone may have gone off if it were in water. Hmmm.

I'm sure Elaine and LE have seen the texts and call logs from Dylan's phone.

I highly doubt LE would ever show those phone records to the public. And if they show anything else suspicious they are definitely not going to show them to the public.

I highly doubt even Elaine has seen the cell phone records unless she got them herself from the provider.

When there is an ongoing investigation LE rarely shares what they have with the family. I know most people assume they do, but they don't. If they tell the family something and it gets out it could botch the entire case.

Dylan was on Elaine's cell plan wasn't he? I'm sure she had access to all those records.

I would assume he was on hers or her boyfriends and yes she can get those records.

MH posted on the official FMDR website that they've gotten a second billboard up! I didn't see any details on location yet.

So, based on the fact that the text information was given to LE by R, I am thinking he just showed him on is phone the text messages he sent to Dylan. If someone sends a text message to a phone that is not active/on does the phone still receive the message and would it be on that phone's activity.

I am just trying to figure out why LE said there was no activity on DR's phone after 8 on Sunday night. I think it has to mean that there was no pinging. A phone pings all the time as long as there is a charged or good battery in it. ty

Correct. Any more than they are going to tell Elaine or Cory what Mark LDT results were.

R provided those texts to the media. What we are seeing did not come from LE it came from R and his family.

That is a very good question. I don't know if the phone was not on/active whether the phone company would be able to see those texts. My guess would be if the phone was not working (or off) it would not technically receive the text and would not show on the records.

I assumed that LE meant there was no outgoing activity such as texts or calls going out from Dylan's phone after 8:00pm. But this is a very good point!

I wouldn't doubt if LE has those records. Which might also be why Mark hasn't been arrested.

Correction: LE never said there was no activity on Dylan's phone after 8 on Sunday night, they just said there was no activity at some time on Sunday night. LE didn't say 8 pm. That was someone else. Somehow that kept getting repeated as fact.

I think Elaine has a copy of Dylan's phone records from Verizon because at first they thought Dylan was a runaway. I am sure LE agreed with her getting the records to help inititally with trying to locate Dylan. Perhaps those records are what had LE thinking of a criminal case the 2/3rd day of Dylan missing.

I think it means that nobody used his phone for anything after that evening. Receiving texts or voice messages would be passive, sending a text or calling a number would be activity. MOO

I know that if I send a text (from my computer to a phone) it shows up as sent even if the person's phone hasn't received it yet. The same thing is true if I leave a message on a cell phone that is turned off, out of range or has a dead battery. It's happened with my sister a few times when she was camping, and my phone records show the time I made the call, while hers showed when she received the message. Cell phones ping as long as they are turned on and have some charge in the battery. MOO
