So, I am looking at a map again trying to puzzle out the vague search locations we were given.

The durango high country north of durango would be (you guessed it) on the way to Vallecito

Does anyone know the name of the company MR works for offhand (I am puzzling out the "eastern colorado" possibilities)

So you are saying the Durango high country is the area between Durango and Vallecito?

Pretty interesting that this was Bender's reply to a question specifically about the polygraphs isn't it?

Quote:
Dan Bender, a spokesman for the La Plata County Sheriff’s office, said he could not comment on polygraph tests, or even confirm if they had been administered.
“We cannot show all our cards, so to speak, he said. “If were to keep the public informed, we also would be keeping potential suspects informed.”

BBM
And for comparison, here's another quote from Bender about polys from early on: 12-4-2012

“Polygraphs have been a part of our investigation,” he said. “We’re not releasing any details on who was polygraphed or what the results may or may not have indicated

I thought it was confirmed from LE , but now I wonder if we only have ER"s word. I thought on the NG show it was said that LE said both took poly's but no results were discussed and then ER provided the details or lack thereof on the results.

  • #584
Thanks! But Bender doesn't say who had taken the polygraphs. I guess 2 are pretty obvious, but I wonder if anyone else was given a polygraph?

  • #585
Cory also said in a tv interview that Mark was refusing to take one . So I think Mark has taken one that was inclusive and won't do another one .

To AZGRANDMA,,, do you know if MR has a heart murmur ? TIA ! :)

From the first NG show:

AMY, CALLER FROM NEW JERSEY: Hi, Nancy. My heart really goes out to this family. Did the dad ever take a polygraph?

GRACE: Good question. Out to Sgt. Dan Bender. Did he take a poly?

BENDER: I do know that the investigators spoke with him on a number of occasions, that would be information on the ongoing investigation, I couldn`t refer to now.

I think The Durango High country is the San Juan National forest and covers from Durango to Pandora. I was looking at a mountain biking event in the Durango High Country and they were way up there near Molas pass etc. So that could be anywhere!

Well one of my kids made me a facebook account a few years ago so I could look at pages you can't see if you're not logged in. That's the extent of what I do on facebook - look but don't touch, and I'm not even very good at the looking lol. I should learn how to use it more, but I really don't want to.

I removed my post. It was not my intention to offend. I'm very, very sorry you took it that way. I tend to type very short/curt and it probably doesn't come across the way it was intended...which was only to help. It won't happen again.

Comments from a former supervisor of a polygraph unit from 2nd Nancy Grace show:

GRACE: Joining me also is Lt. Christopher Pukenas, former supervisor of a polygraph unit.

Lieutenant, thank you for being with us. Why is it so important that both parents take polygraphs and what are police looking for in addition to pass, fail, inconclusive on that polygraph? What else do you look for?

LT. CHRISTOPHER PUKENAS, FORMER SUPERVISOR, POLYGRAPH UNIT NEW JERSEY STATE POLICE: Well, we take a statement from the persons as well when we give them the polygraph. And it`s interesting, some of the things that the father said in the statement that I had seen, that he said that how much the boy had meant to him, past tense, things like that. And I find it interesting that he wouldn`t really -- I miss him. I`m looking for him. I`m doing everything I can to find him, rather than say, how much he meant to me. Things like that. So we look for statements as well. We`ll get to them first and prior to the polygraphs.

I scrolled through that transcript. This is not the same show that ER spoke on? I thought it was right during that talk ! I could be totally wrong. A million bit of info and disinfo and partial info has left my brain spinning.

So he's about average? I guess girls grow faster at that age and boys are a bit behind. He just seems so small :( .. Tks for the info!

I think some of us are going by our own kids!
He seems small to me also. But we are not all tall are we?
My kids were tall so I think thats why he appears small.

Well we aren't there only ones that find some of MR's statements to be rather 'interesting'.

I'm not really sure how I missed this but it seems like a rather important detail, doesn't it ? So he didn't confirm a poly was taken, but just about did by confirming that a statement , taken at the same time a poly is generally taken, was taken by MR and he saw some things in it that concerned him. I'm really so surprised I havent' seen this before. Thank you so much for finding and sharing

Was this said about Mark ?

Was this said about Mark ?

Yup! Did you miss it too? This was on Dec 3 ... so by this time Dylans' been gone about 2 weeks? give or take

I can see why today, even with all the hope in the world, your mind may want to begin to refer to your child in past tense, just to try to get yourself prepared for the worst when it's been so long. But why so soon after ? Like in the interview in the video store and many of us commented that it seemed odd and others commented it may be common to use past tense. But this is a seasoned LDT administrator and he thinks its odd ........ so I agree with him. Shaking my head literally that I've not seen this. Maybe we spent so much time focusing on ER's words from the NG show that this one got a bit swept under rug and it seems to be much more informative.

Thanks once again :D
