If the the 9:37 PM time that LE gave as a last text was an incoming text, why wouldn't the texts that Dylan's friend sent the next morning to him be considered as being the last instead?

They are telling us that dylan sent a text on some electronic device at 937

His friends texts dont count because they are sent TO Dylan nothing was sent BY Dylan.

If you have internet all you have to have for WI is a separate wireless router connected to your internet. jmo

Please don't go convoluting the subject with logic and science and
technology. I honestly have no idea why I have wifi ! I just know I
did not and they sent out a mailer saying it's now available in your
area and when I agreed, they came and dug that trench and ran
a ton of cables up to my house !
Wifi's complicated :(

Oooh good point. So it had to be the last 'outgoing' from DR's 'device' .

I wonder if Elaine has gotten copies of the phone records from her provider herself? I'm sure she can do this. I know someone who got pages of texts from her phone provider recently, which she needed for a domestic violence case. LE had HER get it from the provider.

I know that I can go online for my provider and see the activity of every phone up to the minute.

I suppose this could be considered O/T...or, maybe, just a post without any redemptive value.

Regardless, I just want to pop in and say THANK YOU (yelling intentional, I'm loud) to all the posters, mods, mini-mods, admins, and lurkers who are posting/reading/thinking of Dylan today.

I'm rarely, if ever, able to contribute much to the threads - but I truly value all your posts, informative, intelligent, thought-provoking, etc. - they are excellent. I'm able to scan the threads each day and be kept up-to-date (more so than I would be simply by scanning a news article.)

Your hard work is valuable, and I wanted to take the time to thank you all. Sincerely.

Wifi's complicated :(

I recently moved from the city where I had digital cable and wireless internet to the deep woods of E. Texas. I now have direct t.v. which is a satellite and satellite internet. All I had to do was go to Walmart and buy a wireless router and plug it into my internet box and behold, I have wireless.

I wish they had sent me out a mailer. lol

Yes it was a text that was SENT not received. I do not believe it was sent from Dylan's phone.

Also MR had a laptop so I would assume he had wifi.

Well Ranch just made a excellent point which now means I have to reconsider that Dylan or somebody using Dylan's phone sent a text that nobody knows who it went to . I think LE must of told this person not to reveal they got a text off Dylan or somebody pretending to be him ... moo

When I first moved to Florida our area only had direct TV and every time we had a storm we lost everything. I hated it! Thunder is not a friend to Direct TV

But then it means IMO that Dylan did make it back to Mark's that night . As Dylan would not be able to get wi-fi in the car as no reception and why would Mark take along a laptop to pick up Dylan ?!

We're big city now, wifi and all !
I just wonder if it's available up in those mountains.
Seems like we went over this about 25 threads ago.
Does anyone remember what page number? :floorlaugh:

Haven't had that happen due to storms, but Monday night my internet crashed about 2:00 in the a.m. I blamed it on Jupiter and the moon. That was really a strange night for me. lol

All wifi is is a WIRELESS internet signal. If you are using a laptop (for instance) and do not hook it up to a cable coming out of the wall you are using a wireless signal to connect.

Or someone pretending to be Dylan.

OK most of these lodges/ campgrounds/ parks do have WIFI and between them , they are scattered across a lot of that area, so I rest my case.......... and lose.... there is probably wifi at MR's house.

McDonalds has wifi. But yes, Dylan (or someone else) would have not been able to use the iPod for texting while on the road.

Most WIFI connections are password protected. You would have to have that particular accounts password to access it.

Usually people that own laptops have wifi. If not they would have to plug the laptop into a internet connection in the wall to get internet.
