here is a side by side time comparison for everyone:

LE official timeline above

communication with friend below:

text from or to Dylan's phone at 9:37 was last per LE but no details.

It doesn't say which device, or whether it was Dylan's. Only that it was Dylan's last elec comm.

Or it is verified, but they're holding that back, along with all the other info they're holding back.

You're right, it may just not be verified publicly. Thanks!

so he logs onto another device 10 minutes after his other exchange and has an exchange with someone else (on a device that is not his)?

I agree it is hard to see the sender. But there are ways of determining "style" in electronic messaging.

I think the timeline that was released today are verified accounts that they are willing to release that will not impede their investigation.

:moo:

I have no dog in the race.

I still sit here: :fence:

No. I believe Dylan's phone was destroyed after 8:01 and it never received the 9:27 text from RN.

But LE doesn't specifically say cell communication. They specifically state electronic communication. That could be something besides the cell phone.

I also know you can log on to a computer and there are sites that will allow you to send a "text" message to someone. You would simply enter a cell number (Dylan's) and it appears to the receiver as a text. It is identified as being from the website, but as we see, LE isn't showing us the text if there is one, so it is a possibility.

I just fixed it.. my bad

Has it been confirmed it was Dylan who communicated at 9:37?

i find it strange that he communicated at the time ( if its confirmed) but at the same time did not text R back.

  • #147
I think they stopped searching. I think this whole rally thing lit a fire under their butts.

So...withholding this 9:37 text from the public is killing me. Yes, I hate not knowing!! What if...they felt like maybe somebody else sent that text rather than Dylan?

I'm wondering if getting the evidence back from the lab a few wks back prompted the new searches. Perhaps when they LE gave the ' go ahead' for the rally/protest/vigil/strike ? :S , LE had already begun the searching or planned to and said let's do it all at once.

You can send a text through your cell phone provider on their website. It's easy.

This text!
Could it have been Someone trying to find dylans Phone.

What if that phone was tossed out the window.
something happend to D
Someone goes back using the ipod to find the phone
they send a text to hear it ring
get the phone and poof!

  • #150
What if it was a text Dylan sent saying something incriminating like.... this is just a total example; I hate my Dad he's being a total A-hole or My Dad and I just got into a big argument? Or even a text he sent or received from someone unknown? This text is an important piece of the puzzle.

Like maybe a text he sent to his brother?
OMG you were right, dad's a DB , etc .............. :twocents:

Really interesting thought! A lay person who is not super techy may think that sending a text "from Dylan's phone number" via a website would leave the same electronic footprint as a regular text.

I don't believe there would be any way to confirm that information. As I said previously, there is no way to "see" who the sender is in an electronic communication. JMO

there is not anything known about this latest communication.. so it could well be something she was not aware of.:twocents:

again Elaine stated she saw Dylan's cell phone records.. I believe she knows the timeline of the communication as she saw it with her own eyes rather than relied on someone to share the info with her..its my opinion and am happy to agree to disagree.:)..:twocents:

Yep. Me too. This is why I'm wondering what happened between approx. 8pm and 9:37pm.

map possibilities

this conversation is great folks! We have new info to look at.. I am now thinking about what we know about details on the searches in the last few days.. they say they have been looking in multiple areas (some around durango) that are near bridges..

This would be a great thing to take a peek at maps (along routes or alt. routes in btwn vallecito and Durango) for possible bridges.

just a sleuthing idea.

(great convo here! Let's keep it going!)

  • #157
Could they be searching under bridges and stuff because of the phone pings ?

I kind of thought dad text him to find his phone.
We do that when we lose our phones.

I'm so happy to see there has been positive responses. We have MR "stating" he is willing to have a "fireside chat". Now we have a bit of info from LE. I assumed we would in light of the 'rally" news. They needed to reassure the Community they are still working the case. MR has the pressure on. Man up. IMO MR is not use to anyone calling/controlling the shots. Game on! Good work Cory. MOO
