I think the writer of this article did not identify the possible significance of LE's wording "electronic device communication" in the same way that we did. Thus, assuming it must have been via cell phone.

JMO :moo:

How do we know it was not via cell phone? Cell phone is an electronic device.

Doesn't MR have siblings (we know he has a brother, idk about others) out of state? AZGrandma, do you know?

TIA!

We don't. We don't know what the electronic device was. The wording "electronic device" was used by LE. I think the writer of that article made an assumption when saying it was a text message. I don't think anyone but LE knows for sure what "device" was used. Could have been a cell phone, could have been something else.

ETA the article does not say cell phone specifically, but in my personal opinion that is what the reporter implied by saying "sent his last text message".

I don't get it. First off, why would anyone want to, secondly, why not just use your phone??? Thirdly, how does everyone know this stuff??? and Fourth, does Dylan and or Mark know about this in order to have done something like it??? I know text messages can be sent from iPod's because my granddaughter has sent me some, but I didn't know about computers.

Remember the days when you had to pay per text or had very limited texts? I used to use it all the time before I got unlimited texts on my cell plan.

So what does ER think about it? Would love to know. tia

I don't know, I'm at work, thank goodness my boss is gone today and he has no clue what I do. :floorlaugh: otherwise I'd be in BIG trouble today for all the ws & fb time.

hehehe!..me, too!..lol.. my hubby would get the bill and be like, why in the hell-o is this so overly high on your acct?..what are you doing to rack up these extra charges?..lol..and this was PRIOR to having a smartphone with internet access..lol..after a couple months he'd figured it out and suddenly our plan was changed to we had LIMITED text messaging for each month..lol..sadly by then I was a hopeless texting addict( and just think about how long winded my posts are and you'll get an idea of how "wordy" I am..:blushing: )

needless to say it didn't take long til we all were on the UNLIMITED family text plan..lol:D

Back in those days, I didn't text at all. Or I text on a limited basis. I had a flip phone which was all the rage at the time. Back in the olden days. :D

I keep getting behind too, azgrandma. I'm at work and got pulled into an hour-long meeting so am trying to get caught back up. I'm so glad there is actually something to talk about!

I hate it when work gets in the way of our personal lives! :floorlaugh:

Yes- another brother and various sisters in multiple states. Don't want to get into trouble with mods though so I'll refrain from naming names and stating states.

Great. New information that could just as easily be used to draw inferences that something else possibly happened to Dylan is now being fused, fine-tuned, and tailored to implicate MR even more. This is a textbook case of confirmation bias.

Agree with you 100% and was so sad to see this happen immediately.

Perhaps these have been some of the "interviews in other states". I also agree with the poster who said it could possibly be someone associated with work locations he travels to, etc.

FWIW, LE plays games all the time, there could be very simple reasons for them saying electronic device vs. cell phone - both are electronics. Or they could just be throwing a bone and hope some dog picks it up.

I do know this, LE does not need to tell you the truth and they can lie. I personally know of a time when they told a suspect that they had him on video and the guy cracked like a little baby. They were so convincing that when others heard it, even though the establishment never had videos, they were convinced as well. It was pretty funny trying to explain, hey guys they lied to him.

I find this 9:37 communication very interesting. Previously, MR said that D was very tired and went right to sleep because he had been up until 4am the night before.

So now we see there was a text just before 10 pm. So why didn't he use the texting technique, whatever means it was, to contact anyone the next morning?

O/T....Oh do I ever. I got my cell phone bill one January (for from Dec/Jan) the year after the kids got their cells for Christmas......it was like $600. I was so upset for paying for "k" and "hey" and worst yet...texting during school hours....Yep, caught and grounded....I was very upset!! Then they started fighting over the computer to text and IM....oh, those were the days!

Seajay, I learned to call my cellphone from my computer out of desperation! I'm prone to misplacing it and couldn't find it. :waitasec: I live alone and have used the neighbors to call me more than I want to admit for the purpose of helping me locate it. (and they are not close by either) :pullhair: Out of embarrassment I was determined to learn how to call using the computer and now I text too. Probably too much information but that's how and why I was motivated to do it...

Now that we have the times for Walmart & McDs, is MR caught in an inconsistency? He stated to the press he told Dylan "no" about going to his friends after McDonald's but before going home. Yet Dylan is texting his friend that he can't go from Walmart.

BBM: Yet if we lie, we get stuck with obstruction of justice, interfering with a police investigation, etc. LOL

However, in some ways I can understand. Their job is to find the truth, the culprit and put that person behind bars, they only have so much leeway to do that, so they gotta do what they gotta do. JMO
