Most importantly.... I wish Dylan had been treated fairly and had been taken care of the way he deserved after he arrived in La Plata County for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, it appears he wasn't. :(

His father picked him up at the airport. Check.

His father took him to Walmart for groceries. Check.

His father took him to McDonalds for a quick meal. Check.

As far as we know, he took Dylan home and he fell asleep on the couch and slept in the next day. Check.

None of this, sans the wild speculation that has subsequently ensued, suggests that he wasn't taken care of the way he deserved to be.

I'm not talking about a trial because there hasn't been one yet. I'm talking about a certain segment of the public. MOO.

Would that be the Nancy Drews and the Nancy Graces of the internet?

Really there is no way to know what happened that night. He arrives in La Plata County and within hours he vanishes off the face of the earth. Yes, he went to WalMart, he went to McDonald's, he exchanged some texts with his mom and his friend. After that anything could have happened. The only thing that is definitive after 9:37 is no more Dylan.

If I have to be one or the other, I'll be a Nancy Drew. I'm just wondering if there are some Hardy Boys around?

I want to know what MR is doing while Elaine & Cory are attending fundraisers, hosting rallies & giving interviews. Those two and many others are doing everything they can to keep Dylan's face out there but where is Mark? What is his contribution to the search for Dylan?

  • #306
Sadly I agree with you. It would be nice if Mark could be treated fairly by the public but I guess that's impossible. MOO.

I think it is impossible!
If it was Elaine and dylan went missing from her home heck im really sure we would all be saying the same things. I bet Mark would be saying things about her and her BF.... do You think they would be beyond suspicion? I dont.
MR was there.
Its not the person- its the events of dylans last evening that led up to this suspicion. JMO

Within 4 hours or so of landing Dylan was never heard from again. I'd say there was a serious break down in the way he was taken care of!

I think that it's fair for people to be suspicious of Mark. What's not fair is the unsubstantiated rumors about him being made public. MOO.

Were they accused of killing their own child in the media by their ex?

imo

I think there is a VERY VERY good reason Er said that.
Why should that even come to her mind unless its possible!
To me that is very very sad, what did she say?
She was afraid Mark was in the frame of mind of "If I cant have him no one can." Why would you think that unless that thought had been planted there before.

Poor Cory. My heart breaks for him. I wish Mark would sit down with him and give him the answers he so desperately needs. It is unbelievably cruel to deny C & E answers while playing the victim for the media.

MR treated fairly..how would that work? Ignore the fact that he was the last person to see Dylan? Ignore the fact that he has clammed up and won't talk to ER and CR? What would fair be?

His father picked him up at the airport. Check. verified by LE

His father took him to Walmart for groceries. Check. verified by LE

His father took him to McDonalds for a quick meal. Check. Verified by LE

As far as we know, he took Dylan home and he fell asleep on the couch and slept in the next day. Check. LE has not verified that Dylan's scent was found in/around Mark's house

None of this, sans the wild speculation that has subsequently ensued, suggests that he wasn't taken care of the way he deserved to be.

I posted my responses in blue

ITA! I refuse to believe that Elaine pulled that statement out of thin air. Misleading LE and the general public would not benefit her at all. She knows Mark & she knows Dylan - she knows them far better than any of us so I have no reason to doubt her take on things. Having a 2nd ex wife confirm her accounts and openly support her only adds to icing to the cake. When you throw in an adult son saying the same things - what are the chances that MR is a saint and everyone else is manipulative, conniving liars?

“I do a lot of things on my own,” said Redwine, a truck driver. Among his other activities, “every time I get (back) into Durango, I talk to other truck drivers” to have them keep fliers in their rigs, he said.

Fortunately for MR, the public cannot convict and lock him up for their opinion.

We all have opinions. I don't like certain political figures. I read lots of comments about their activities every day that contain hostility, anger, abuse, etc. I don't see any of them crawling away to hide. They are still in office, doing the same darn crap and they don't give a rat's azz about the negative public perceptions of a segment of society. This is life.

JMO and MOO

LOL very nice point.
Sticks and stones , eh ?

Sorry, but I don't know that at all. LE has not confirmed that Dylan ever made it to the house. I'll wait until they do so before checking that off. :moo:

He's cooperating fully with LE - that is what he is doing. Perhaps he knows that the best chance of finding his son isn't going on TV every chance he gets and making veiled accusations and throwing everybody off, and instead recognizes that it is LE, and not bake sales and car washes, that will eventually solve this case.

People handle grief and tragedy very differently.

If Mark thinks that something happened to his son between the hours of 730 and 1130 am on Monday morning while he was gone, why wouldn't he want to be the voice for Dylan?

What does Mark think happened to Dylan?
