Why would MR not be suspected? He was the last to see Dylan, the last person known is always a suspect until proven otherwise. My father was a homicide detective, this is how a case begins by looking at last known details. There is no other logical point to start. Suspicious to me was when one of MR's first comments was "My problem is my ex-wife...." . I'd have said " My baby is missing...anyone, everyone help me!"

That Is the crux of the matter here is that it seems at first they thought Dylan had run away. Which wasted precious time and meant actions where not taken to verify that the fact Dylan was really at that house that morning .

I do not know. I dont think Elaine would of done that as she never believed he would run away. She said Dylan could of rung her and she would of dropped everything and came and picked him up.

But Mark may of , i don't know for sure either way .

I don't know if they reported him as anything, just missing. You know
this makes me wonder if there was a 911call and if so why we've not
heard it when they often are released to public. Neither parent said
they called 911. ER said they called the 'sheriff' or ' constable' office,
right? Well I guess that makes sense because if she did call 911, it
would be her local department, which is not where he went missing.
Also didn't she say she didn't know if MR called or not , but she did?

NANCY GRACE TRANSCRIPT
"GRACE: Everyone, taking your calls is Dylan`s mother. Now, Ms. Redwine, was -- did there come a time when you learned that Dylan was missing? How did that happen?

REDWINE: Well, his dad texted me at around, oh, 4:30. Maybe it was closer to 5:00 on Monday. And I texted him back. You know, it was like, Well, we should call the sheriff. So I went ahead and I actually called the sheriff that day. I don’t know if Mark had called the sheriff that day, either, but I called the sheriff right after I got the text from Mark. I went to my house, picked up a bag, grabbed my oldest son, Corey (ph), and we came to Durango."

I think one of them did!
This was why time was lost they went to MRs house and looked to see if Dylan was hiding there. Wasnt it after they decided he wasnt a runaway they did the real search of MRs house?

Dylan Redwine's father, Mark Redwine, reported the 13-year-old missing midday Nov. 19 from his house in the Vallecito area, about 22 miles northeast of Durango.

Mark Redwine alerted law enforcement about Dylan’s absence just before 6 p.m. Nov. 19, Bender said.

Searches for Dylan began that evening. Since then, hundreds of locals and more than 50 task-force members from multiple local law enforcement agencies, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the FBI have been checking vacant cabins and knocking on the doors of homes tucked into the tall pines.
Several possible sightings of Dylan were reported early on, but those have been discounted.

There's a discrepancy in the time MR reported DR missing - one report says "midday" the other quote by Bender says 6:00.

Well we know 100% it could not of been Midday as Mark did not even call Elaine till gone 4 . So it must of been error in printing .

Law-enforcement task force canvassing the Vallecito community for clues to the disappearance of 13-year-old Dylan Redwine has discarded the possibility that he ran away Nov. 19 from his father’s home north of the reservoir, La Plata County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dan Bender said Wednesday

“There’s a combination of factors,” Bender said. “There’s been the passage of time without any sightings; Dylan was not a visitor but had friends here; he has a history of staying in contact with his family and friends; and there’s been nothing on his cell phone record since he was reported missing.”

Sounds like MR didn't 'think' to call LE until ER said it needed doing.
Either he wanted to wait as long as possible to report it OR he thought
the boy will show up any time now, let's not raise a ruckus. I find it
very plausible that a male would think we can wait him out, he'll show up,
no reason to get all worked up . That is typical male thinking in situations
like this, I think. OR , like I said, he was wanting the extra hours by not
reporting it. Thoughts ?
