If the story about Dylan being on the couch when the Father was leaving to do whatever he pre planned knowing his son would be there, Why would you leave him 'home alone' knowing you were going to be gone at least four - five hours.

Why would you have planned anything the following day knowing your son is coming to spend court ordered time with you, Why couldn't whatever was important have been done the previous week. Dylan on the couch, tv on nickelodeon, and a empty cereal bowl in/on the sink, seems if Dylan had been there from Sunday night till Monday sometime ? Dylan would have eaten more than a bowl of cereal, What did he drink, any glasses used,

From my understanding, MR is out of town for his job a lot and had just gotten back into town when Dylan was going to visit. I don't see anything suspicious about doing his errands then because he had been away from home. Dylan is 13 almost 14, it's ok for them to stay by themselves for a few hours.

I wonder if MR is going to say that he wished he had let Dylan go see his friends Sunday night?

I hope the reporter also spent 2 hours with LE because they hold the "evidence".

Is it "ratings" week?

Where out of town is the Father a lot ? This was discussed awhile back concerning what type of job he does, Do you know ?

Ratings sweeps is from January 31-February 27. HMMMMMMMM.

Also...out of ABQ, Co Springs, and Denver, what local news would you guys say has given the most attention to this case?

No, I haven't a clue. I just remember it being reported that because of the economy, MR had to find work out of town and didn't regularly stay at his house in Vallecito.

I honestly don't understand any other reason they are dragging out this interview other than drama and/or ratings.

They're treating it like the Lance Armstrong and Oprah interview. :banghead:

Earlier today I noticed the number of views for 3 of the interviews.

1. MR with 300+ hits
2. ER with 200+ hits
3. Bender 94 hits

Sigh...I really only care about Bender & hopefully hearing more about Sunday night from MR, cause I don't think Bender is going to say much. :floorlaugh:

Certainly 9news out of Denver has done the most IMO. Followed closely by koat out of ABQ. I have chalked that up to ABQ being a slower news market? Colo Springs is late to the game and the newspaper is shaming krdo with repeated and often sympathetic (as opposed to inflammatory, like the Durango Herald) coverage.

Media junkie here. With too much time on my hands at work, obviously!

I'm having a hard time finding the news affiliate for the Colorado News 9 station. Does anyone know what channel the interviews would be on in different areas...specifically Comcast Cable in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon)

Well, I think we know who most of the 94 hits are, us! :floorlaugh:

Ratings sweeps makes sense to me. I don't think local news stations get that high of ratings to begin with, so just an increase of a few thousand viewers is huge. You also don't really advertise something on the local news days in advance unless you want more people than normally to tune in. Lastly, with Sweeps starting tomorrow, it's not a big deal for the local news to wait a couple of days before airing the interview.

If you don't live in the Denver area, you can't watch the interview on TV. I'm not sure if they will have a live feed on their website.

I noticed this as well. Also noticed the comments were closed on one of ER's clips. Weird. Not weird that everyone is interested in what MR has to say- he's been the media holdout and now he can become the media darling which I find a bit uncomfortable. He will make time to play the martyr. I imagine ER will be most furious with whatever he says. And really? At this point what is anyone going to believe? This will probably add more fuel to the fire than any rally in front of his house and I *seriously* hope the story does not undermine the hard work that has been done to raise money and awareness to find Dylan. There is no such thing as bad press, IMO, but so much of the success of social media depends on perception and ER has been such a sympathetic figure thus far. The Blasius blog post about her sounding bitter makes me very afraid that the sympathies could turn and with them, the attention on Dylan. Hope I'm wrong.

IIRC wasn't it ER that said she didn't know what he did now but he was out of town a lot when they first got divorced so he didn't see Dylan often.

Then MR said that parents have to do what they need to......... but I don't remember him saying that he was out of town a lot.

IMO it's gotten so jumbled that we (people in general) hear one thing and then can't remember who said what when.

I too live in a rural area with poor phone reception. I have a 12 gauge in my bedroom. But I never have it out for company. That would raise a few eyebrows. MOO

I found it off-putting too that Blasius described Elaine as being bitter. Then, also saying that Cory and Elaine "blame" Mark, and that Elaine was the first one to point the finger at him. And the whole thing about Mark crying, and how he has a gun because he is so scared of someone harming him.

I hope Blasius/9 News didn't get an interview with Mark by promising to be more sympathetic towards him, and making Elaine out to be a bitter ex-wife....

it was previously reported (IIRC by the man who sells cigarettes to MR) that MR had lost a lot of weight since Dylan vanished....

in these new videos from 9news on youtube it doesn't appear that way IMO

If this begins to sound like a family dispute, interest will decrease dramatically.

  • #1,239
Blasius said MR answered every one of her questions..

*But* - did she ask the right questions??
