Not just the hesitation, but a lot of stuttering and stammering before answering too. Normally, those things are considered to be red flags, but I'm sure this case is different. :fence:

Mark said something to the effect of "they think I was involved in some sort of kidnapping scheme."

  • #463
There BENDER just said it, not the reporter.... either abducted or something happened at the house.

Well I guess police does think that Dylan made it to the house.
Although maybe Bender thinks if he were to say something might have happened before Dylan even got to the house, it'd be too obvious.

Mother had full custody. She didn't need to kidnap her own child.

Not blaming ER, but for the sake of this response... yes she had full custody but MR still had visitation.

When she paused, I knew sleuths would jumped on in then and there.
:floorlaugh:
I think she is just very emotional. Her child is missing and she is asked if she had anything to do with it.

When they asked her if she had anything to do with it, I thought she cried because she sent him to the place that he never returned from. KWIM?

I don't see that a good reason for a mother to kidnap a child. Especially considering mother herself didn't go missing.

Wouldn't they both have everything to lose and nothing to gain? If you're (general you) talking about your child, then they both have everything to lose...
Not if one parent was filled a perverse need for revenge against the other. He/she would believe he/she had won and not lost if he/she destroyed his/her opponent's "heart". :(

No, I didn't get that at all. She definitely hesitated and then stuttered and stammered. It was awkward.

Claims about texting - that was new. Not mentioned in previous interviews.

New for us. Probably not for LE.

IIRC Torres stated a few weeks back that she was in the process of interviewing for this segment on Dylan.

ETA This was as well prior to the "rally" or whatever creative name it was given.

Did anyone transcribe?

No , because Elaine has great relationships with children and has a new life with a fiancé and has built a good life for her family and has custody of Dylan..She loses everything if she is guilty . Mark's seemingly has children but is distinct from them all , very few friends from what we can gather and has a lot less to lose :cow:

Elaine's demeanor, her facial expressions, her voice, everything strikes me as devastated, frantic, worried. I'm no expert, just a mom.

So you're saying she might have something to gain?

They could be subpoena'd by the DA or by a grand jury, if necessary. I don't think, JMO, that they would be required to turn them over to LE without that.

Where they were interviewing Bender, he would have totally known what was happening and they would have asked for both parents uncut. I can't remember but I think it was Baby Lisa's case, LE asked too late that once they cut, it is not necessarily kept...maybe each station has their policies. No doubt here...they got it all. :great:

Hypothetically right? Neither parent is being accused of having a perverse need for revenge? Using he/she is just as good as JMO, right? JMO

Is there a good reason for anybody to kidnap a child?

Ugh, I so want to stay up and go over all this, but I have class and lab early. :( I will catch up with y'all tomorrow. Will be thinking of Dylan....

That happened with Elizabeth and Lyric, I think.

I am not actually sure.
What did the cop say, anybody wrote it down?

Bender said, Dylan "either left the house and someone abducted him, or something happened while he was still at the house."
