My thoughts are if MR is lying or changing his story it must be so obvious to LE! They know word for word exactly what MR has said in statements to them. I just can't imagine that he could be that bad of a liar or would be so obvious in changing his story.
I sure wish a body language expert would comment on both interviews. I see what people are saying about Elaine and I think if it were MR who did this we would be all over it.

bbm Yes, I agree. Look at Mark's eyes when he is asked questions. He looks directly at the reporter, his eyes do not move left or right. He looks and speaks directly to the reporter. If you look at the interview from last night again, just for an exercise in body language, specifically the eyes, mute the segment, and watch the eyes of both parents. Note the differences. Also, look at hand gesturing, placement of hands during the answering of specific questions. I need to go back and look at hands for both parents. I was stuck on the eyes last night.

You can try the eye exercise (what I call it) with your kids, your sibling, your spouse, your friends. It is very interesting if you know ahead of time someone has lied but they do not know you know. Then proceed to ask them questions and watch their eyes. Try it on people you know well to gain experience then you can apply it to interviews on WS cases.

ETA: I found the entire thing really annoying. The 'journalist' just wants it to all be some big mystery. The fact is, a wonderful young man may well be dead, and she's acting like it's a game for viewers to solve and win $50K.

I really get the feeling that LE believes Dylan at least made it to the house. Now if MR's story has changed LE is going to see that. So maybe it hasn't changed? I just can't imagine he would change his story in an interview for all to see including LE. Surely if he's lying he wouldn't be so stupid to do that. Would he? I mean IF he's lying surely he would have thought through exactly what story he was going to tell before doing the interview and would stick to it.

Who knows if he did. I statement he did talk to him, one statement he didn't.

Well, if they watched a movie until 10:30, and last text was at 9:37 pm, then "shortly after that" was exactly 53 minutes.

I don't know what to think. To me, if this is different than MR's original statements to LE it's going to be quite obvious to them! Either this matches his original statements to LE or he's screwed up terribly.

And I would pretty much guarantee LE is going over it with a fine tooth comb. In fact, I think LE is going over the statements of both parents very, very carefully.

In an interview awhile back, at the time they did the big search on MR's house, MR said LE did a "moment by moment" interview with him.

It is not changing the story when you tell someone what happened and later, as other details come to mind, you talk about them as long as the underlying story stays the same. It is when the underlying story changes, that there is a problem. If MR did a moment by moment interview with LE, LE should have all these details or pretty much all of them.

So.... I'm sure LE is double checking that interview against the one that aired last night.

I just watched the video, and I want to throw in my little bit of knowledge here..that couch that Dylan supposedly slept on is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I have this style of couch and it is designed for sitting on it. They are bucket seats. I know if I was 13, though, I might possibly do it anyway if I had to if that was where the TV was...still, I'm telling you it is not comfortable with a hump in your back....Don't think he slept there.

I wonder if the media ever asked MR about DR's cell phone, the most logical question in light of its sudden non-use, as that is key to maybe solving the case? That remains the elephant in the room and would be the first question out of my mouth.

reporter error?

there have been contradictory reports from the start concerning this same info.

Also: it came from a reporter not LE.

In the early morning I'm sure it was cold enough to wear gloves to NOT leave a print and that no one would think it odd someone was wearing gloves.

I can see Dylan leaving on his own and something happening to him out in the wilderness before Id think someone abducted him.

I think leaving on his own is a possibility. From personal experience with teenage males, at about Dylan's age, they become interested in risky behavior. Out of character behavior is displayed too. Imagine the dismay of a parent who insists their child would never do that (that being a general example of the act the child would not be involved in according to the parent's perception) only to be slapped in the face with the reality that he/she did do that. It is part of the growing and learning process - testing the waters so to speak. Because of this, I think Dylan walking out of the house, then something happening, is a possibility I cannot discount. MOO

There is a specific reason for LE releasing that info about the 9:37 text. I don't know if it was to say 'yes we have proof that Dylan made it to MR's' or they were throwing out a bone and hoping someone would take it.

I think they were trying to trip up MR by talking about the late text........and it worked. Kudos to LE if this was made up

Who knows? Was the info about items left on the couch coming from MR, MSM or LE?
