reporter error?

there have been contradictory reports from the start concerning this same info.

Also: it came from a reporter not LE.

Seems that is just not clarified yet.:twocents:

That's the previous article. We had a big discussion about that clothing, and yet now apparently there was nothing left at all.

"The next morning, Dylan was sleeping on the couch where Mark Redwine now sits and where Dylan's blankets still lie jumbled. Mark said he waited until 7:30 a.m. but still couldn't rouse his son, so he told him he would return about 11. When he got back at 11:30, his son's dirty cereal bowl was beside the sink. The television was on Nickelodeon. His son's fishing pole was gone. So was his black-and-gray backpack. A few articles of clothing were left behind on the couch."

every reporter has said something different. I reviewed the media thread the other day as well and noticed that.

Until I hear something from LE about any items left behind I personally will wait to find out which is which.

About the clothes left behind. We don't know if MR truly said that or not. We know reporters mess things up all the time. Who knows?

  • #686
I wonder if the media ever asked MR about DR's cell phone, the most logical question in light of its sudden non-use, as that is key to maybe solving the case? That remains the elephant in the room and would be the first question out of my mouth.

There's too much information missing at this point. MOO.

What's the question that you want answered?

I need a transcript! I've watch last night's newscast 4 times now and each time I just :banghead:

ETA: I found the entire thing really annoying. The 'journalist' just wants it to all be some big mystery. The fact is, a wonderful young man may well be dead, and she's acting like it's a game for viewers to solve and win $50K.

bbm Wasn't that just sickening? MOO

Why didn't Dylan use his cell phone after the 8:01 text exchanges with RN? Surely if his phone died or the battery needed replacement Dylan would have told his Dad. Or if Dylan couldn't get cell phone reception up there MR would know that too.

I do not believe the 9:37 text came from his phone.

I still think dad took his phone!

Where is this 8:01 time coming from? I thought that the text messages didn't have timestamps on all of them and Dylan had made some after the 8:01 time that have no time listed. MOO.

I think leaving on his own is a possibility. From personal experience with teenage males, at about Dylan's age, they become interested in risky behavior. Out of character behavior is displayed too. Imagine the dismay of a parent who insists their child would never do that (that being a general example of the act the child would not be involved in according to the parent's perception) only to be slapped in the face with the reality that he/she did do that. It is part of the growing and learning process - testing the waters so to speak. Because of this, I think Dylan walking out of the house, then something happening, is a possibility I cannot discount. MOO

Could be especially after his friend said ' dylan was the daredevil ' .

" NOT A SOCK" ER said this and the reporter said this as well. No trace of DR, not even a sock ! It cannot be both .

Why be the daredevil with a fishing pole?
That darn fishing pole where does it fit in?

I said 8:01 text exchanges. I guess I should have said text exchanges starting at 8:01.

Early on, law enforcement and Elaine were quoted over and over about Dylan being an avid texter and that a big part of the concern with the case was the sudden stop of the texting. So no matter what time the texting ended (despite those early reports, LE is now saying the final text was 9:37), the point is, why on earth would Dylan not ever text again after Sunday night?

He wakes up Monday at whatever time and just grabs up his things (including the cell phone, charger, etc.) as well as his backpack but not make any efforts to call or text anyone first?

There is the option of the mysterious intruder I suppose but that seriously seems pretty far fetched. IMO

The reporter said ( paraphrasing) we dont even know if dylan is DEAD or alive. And she made a giant emphasis, nearly yelled DEAD and I found it in the most disgusting taste. Why not say we dont know if he's alive or not. The emphasis on the word DEAD made it clear what their angle is. :( :(

In the wrap up of the interview, I thought the reporter said something about LE was able to get Dylan's Ipod email account info. Maybe that was in her twitter when she was answering questions?

I don't know, but I agree with you 100%. I don't think that last text was sent from his cell phone either.

I would really, really like to know what that last text said.
