Could this mean that Dylan or someone posing as Dylan sent a message from some other electronic devise?

From what I have seen/heard/read I don't recall MR coming out & saying that he thought ER could be responsible. Of course, we are all aware that ER has made comments suggesting she believes MR to be responsible.

I think the media took this idea & ran with it, suggesting that both parents are pointing fingers at each other.

It seems that way to me also. LE hasn't addressed whether or not the incoming 9:27 PM text ever reached Dylan's cell phone. They only refer to Dylan's "last" text. They may have records of other text messages that they do not want to release yet. MOO.

Yes and that is why I believe it was sent by the iPod because something happened to the cell phone shortly after 8:00.

Here is the complete statement. This really bothers me! The part that says one of his friends that had been TRYING to text him.

Here's the thing. If he would have just left it at that (above) I would assume he was referring to one of his friends that was trying to get ahold of him the next day (Monday). But he doesn't leave it at that, so I'm assuming he was referring to one of his friends that he was texting with Sunday night. Why say the TRYING TO TEXT HIM part if he's talking about Sunday night?

Many words MR usesin that statement are bothersome because they are purposely vague and meant to be left to interpretation:

Trying (outcome?)
Indicated (what?)
Acknowleged (how?)
Working on (outcome?)
Struggle (did they have a struggle?) JMO

I think thats entirely possible...they may have a very good reason for with holding some info regarding this.:moo:

I'm really not being argumentative, but I would love to have that confirmed as something that just wasn't part of the reporter's interpretation. I specifically pinned MB down on this detail and in the end she said LE will not confirm that information and also will not confirm the "electronic device" it was made from/to. So, I really dunno??

I'm assuming this statement came from Ryan himself. So we know the outgoing 9:37 electronic device communication (text) was not sent to Ryan (or at least never received by Ryan).

And we speculated about how long the text conversation between Ryan and Dylan could have gone on for with lags and no time stamp in between, but this proves that that conversation ended shortly after 8pm.

Absolutely agree. We can go back and forth about reporter interpretations vs LE's official statements but the bottom line is no matter how the question is presented or who it is presented to, there is NO detail-specific answer. This is the biggest missing piece of the puzzle, IMO. MB stated that LE will not answer this question. All JMO and MOO

MOO is that it doesn't matter what device it came from. I think the content of that text is what is possibly LE"s only real indication of what happened. That's why it was quiet for a long time and it sort of came on at the last minute last week to coincide with the pressure on MR. I think what was said OR who said it is the key .

All of the reports of the *official* La Plata County Sheriff's news release just state

9:37 p.m. Dylan’s last electronic device communication (texting)

it doesn't state that a text was sent.
