been "tweeting" with M Blasius (and I'm a real twit & don't really know how to tweet...LOL) but if I'm reading correctly, she states that MR & Dylan arrived home Sunday night between 8 & 8:30pm and watched a movie "Adventureland" til 10:30

8 to 8:30 sounds about right based on 7:22 McDonalds time.

I wish he had specified what he meant by activity - calls? texts? signal? pings?

IDK by the key word is no activity whatsoever...

I cannot see Dylan getting up and being anxious to hit the road, without at least calling his father to see if maybe he was running ahead of schedule and would be back soon for him. I just can't see him setting out without calling or texting someone. Nothing anyone has put forward makes any sense to me, as to why he would not make contact with R, his father, or anyone, before deciding it would be s good idea to try to go the fifteen or so miles on his own, when he had a ride. I am having a hard time with that, more than anything.

I don't know. Maybe he was faking being drowsy and hopped up as soon as dad was out the door. I have to admit to doing that when I was young.

Why would he do that if he wanted to go to RN's house that morning?

 • #85
Sounds to me like he meant everything stopped on Sunday evening, since he says "no activity on his phone whatsoever."

Sounds to me like he might have just meant texts or texts and calls. I guess we'll just have to wait until Bender tells us what he meant.

Meanwhile, I'm finding it hard to believe that Bender/investigators are considering a scenario where Dylan left the house Sunday night and was abducted. I'll chew on it though.

And now that we KNOW he could text from the house, and his phone was fine that night, and not left in the truck, or lost in the yard---it makes even less sense that he never texted his friends that morning. If he had time to watch cartoons and eat cereal then he had time to reach out to his buddies that were waiting for him. JMO

@D76013 @SherryGrondin I don't know exactly when Dylan's phone went dead. Investigators wont tell me. It could have been the next a.m..

 • #88
And why would he do that considering he was eager to meet his friend and didn't have a ride?

Maybe he had to pee.

Maybe somebody should let her know about "no activity whatsoever on his phone since Sunday evening" quote from Bender.

in addition...

M Blasius states that law enforcement will not say exactly what type of electronic communcation occurred at 9:37pm...it could have been a call, a text, an email, etc. So, it's possible Dylan not only had access to his cellphone but another device as well. So, it's doubly puzzling why he didn't reach out to a soul that morning when he had at least 1 and possibly 2 means of communication available.

Yes. Could be no texts or calls whatsoever.

Sorry. I could guess or assume along with others, but on the pings, I'm going to wait to hear from LE definitively when they stopped.

I know...there are many cases where Websleuthers are so much more informed than the journalists who cover these cases...

I really want to know if MR's doors were locked?

Maybe she's already seen it.

I watched the 9News interview. Mark Redwine's stories don't match up.

Mark went to bed while Dylan was texting (no texts at R appear after 8:01 pm. So texting to who on WHAT? If the phone had no texts after 8:01 pm - were they on Dylan's iPod and why? The iPod seems to be recovered and LE is silent about IF there were ANY texts on an iPod.)

Mark and Dylan watched a movie (until 10:30?)

Mark and Dylan tossed a Nerf football while chatting after coming home? What time did they "come home?"

I appreciate 9News doing the interview - but I'd like to see it in its entirety. Was it over 2 hours? And we just saw 30 seconds. Please 9News - post the WHOLE interview!

Sorry could I grab a link for this story again please? Did MR actually discuss the nerf football in the latest interview? Much has been made of this and the only mention I have seen of it (the football) was when a reporter stated that an ipod, a pair of sweatpants, and a nerf football that was supposedly tossed around that evening were collected during the search.

I know I have several times mentioned that nerf toys are usually made of soft foam and intended for outdoors. Recently while staying at the beach we had visitors, and their son had a new nerf football which was quite small and made of harder plastic, but it also lit up when thrown. While some have asked why they would have played a game of football outside when Dylan and his dad got home, I can see that it's possible they might have just exchanged a couple of passes outside just for the novelty of seeing it lit up in the dark. It's something males would do IMO - not a long game of football (how would that work with only 2 people?) just a few throws for the heck of it.

I feel like a lot of assumptions are being based on the idea that Dylan didn't want to see his father, and didn't even like him. I don't believe that is true from all I have read. What if Dylan was happy about his visit, not just because he was going to see his friends, but also because he was getting to see his dad as well? That "scowly" face could have had many meanings. How about ...

Dylan are you there yet??
Yes :/ (at last - am sick of traveling)
Yes :/ (thank god - my head felt weird the whole trip)
Yes :/ (mum stop checking up on me)
Yes :/ (I wish I wasn't going to miss out on the big family Thanksgiving back there)

I've used :/ as my interpretation of "scowly" - I wish we could see the actual emoticon that was used. I don't think I would call : ( or even :[ as scowly - JMO though? Maybe there are other versions I'm forgetting though.
:moo:

Could it have been incoming rather than outgoing?

Well, that's a million dollar question, and since Bender said what he did about Dylan possibly going outside and getting abducted, I'd say it was between 7:30am and 11:30am Monday. :twocents:

<modsnip>, jmo, tho..

so, Dylan has overslept missing his ride to the friends that above all else he was intent and excited to see ASAP(And since dad nixed the original plan of his going Sunday night he was left with Monday morning being the soonest available time he could go).. but, OK so he totally shrugs off getting up and going Monday morning.. instead he gets up at some point after 7:30am when dad leaves out..along with in the above scenario Dylan's got a fully working cell phone.. AND yet he calls/texts NO ONE???

Instead he takes that fully working phone and sets out to walk somewhere at which time he is abducted??

again strictly moo <modsnips>.

Does "no activity" mean that the phone was powered off and dead or that there was no more records of text messages and phone calls?

Sherry ‏@SherryGrondin
@SherryGrondin @MelissaBlasius LE only said electronic communication. could have been cell, computer or ipod. Do you know?

Melissa Blasius ‏@MelissaBlasius
@SherryGrondin I know it was several devices, but LE won't reveal all their investigative techniques to me. #dylanredwine
