Forgive me, I'm grabbing at all straws here. MB says, specifically, no CELL activity after 9:37, or no CELL activity after Sunday night? Trying to pin down the cell phone part, as opposed to the texting part. TIA

Her exact quote is: Dylan Redwine used cell until 9:37 the night prior to disappearing, and not at all after that.

I am still unsure if the 9:37 one was sent from his cell phone.

I'm still unsure of that too. I'm unsure if Dylan sent it

its possible that someone else sent that text IMO

It's possible Dylan also had a portable gaming system, a handheld Nintendo DS or a PSP, I've noticed the talk about a iPod being found at the house, but the hand held gaming systems in a wifi enabled area will send text messages.i would imagine Dylan enjoyed playing video games, so he most likely has one. Whatever happened to Dylan's cell that caused it to quit communicating with the tower, if he does have a portable gaming system, he would be able to send text messages, but only in a wifi enabled area.
Nice! I forgot my Wii texts, too.

No, I watched the interview...and I've been tweeting with MB for 2 days. "No cell activity after 9:37 pm" Bender has stated (paraphrasing) No cell phone activity on the phone, whatsoever, past Sunday night. Now R's texts were sent in the morning. We could clearly see that on the MSM article. So when the poster said Dylan woke up and read his text messages, I replied that it would be impossible because there was no cell activity past Sunday night. R obviously sent the text to Dylan's phone and it never showed up because the phone wasn't active. I hope this explains what I'm saying....because otherwise I'm giving up. :please:

Okay, I understand what you're saying now. I disagree though.

- nothing in the interview (article or video) that I saw/heard saying no cell activity after 9:37.

- nothing in MB's tweets that I see saying no cell activity after 9:37

- Bender saying no cell activity after some time Sunday night doesn't preclude Dylan having received texts (such as R's) and checked them in the morning

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

I do appreciate you explaining where you are coming from. I'm not trying to be a pain. I'm just trying to get the info. Thanks again.

IMO our opinions are coloured by our experiences and what we are familiar with. 13 year old Daniel Morcombe was abducted an hour or so from where I live - he just disappeared without a trace, and with no reported sightings of Daniel with his abductor afterwards. His remains and alleged abductor were not discovered until 9 years later (yet to go to trial) - his parents were finally allowed to bury him in December 2012. I know a couple of us Australians have mentioned his case here before - it can and does happen right under our noses sometimes. Discounting a theory because it's flawed or not based on evidence is different to dismissing it because it doesn't fit with expected or past patterns/conditions/scenarios.
:moo: and not directed at anyone in particular so please don't assume it is. Just theories that some may think are unlikely, others may have knowledge of and be prepared to consider.

He did not just vanish as I read this case a few weeks ago . He was seen by a few people at the bus stop . So it was vierfield that he had been at the bus stop .

Nobody saw Dylan on the Monday morning . The only person claiming to have seen Dylan after Sunday night is Mark :cow:

His friends were as well interviewed if one would view the segment.

Thank you so much Allusonz. I went back and watched both segments again. While I saw the brief bit with his friends talking about eating pizza and all, I was wondering whether she actually "formally" interviewed them, or any other people, as well.

And I must say, watching the clips again, there's some weird wording going on (IMO). But it's way past what should be my bedtime. I'll have to watch them yet again tomorrow.

Maybe I'm just too tired. I got a bad case of the "if onlys."

Thanks again for your help.

While we have seen the texts from Dylan's friend R, we have not nor do not know whom else he was texting at he same time. That can account for the "gaps" in between texts to R. I am using a general "we" here. Also, didn't R. say he called and texted Dylan? That could account for the "gaps" between the texts Monday morning from him to Dylan.

Moo, IMO, and all that Jazz

Elaine had D's cell records from her service provider. I think she was saying 8 pm was his last text sent. I see no reason for her to be dishonest about something as important as that.

So, since we know that LE recently got his i-pod records, I am leaning towards that last text as being sent from that. Just a guess.

I copied the tweet for you and Bender did say that in the video. TXJan has the transcript somewhere on here. Dylan cannot receive a text on his cell if there is no activity past Sunday night. It is impossible unless LE is lying.

Very possible and this has not been addressed as well either.

ETA For all we know there may be pictures of Dylan while playing as that is a feature on some of them.

I've always thought that once the phone ran out of battery, it was placed on charge, and neither Dylan or his dad were aware that it was actually beyond recharging. This wouldn't have been discovered by Dylan until the next day, after MR had left on his errands, and Dylan finally woke up and started moving around. If this was the case I can imagine Dylan would have been mighty ticked off and even more inclined to stomp out of the house impatiently. And I don't buy for a minute that he would have called his dad in desperation and asked him to bring him home a new phone (that was suggested here repeatedly in early threads). Surely only a really indulged teen would expect that to work - especially if he was expecting a new smart phone for Xmas.

Thank you. This sounds like a declarative statement to me.

I'm beginning to lose hope here.

It does preclude Dylan having received texts Monday morning, but yes, he COULD have received texts Sunday night and not read them. HOWEVER, if he opened his texts messages to read them in the morning, a phone will "ping" to look for more messages, even if there aren't any. Wifi does the same with email, but I'm not familiar with iMessage, should that have been what he used. (I wish I knew what type of phone he favored. It'd make it a lot easier without all the disclaimers I have to use since I don't know )

Thanks for your input.

Ticked off? Why would he be "ticked off"? He had an ipod, a computer and a land line!

ETA: and if he was like most tech savvy kids, he probably would have been jumping up and down for joy because it meant he might just be able to talk mom or dad into a new cell phone for Christmas...."geez mom, the battery is going bad", "I need a new phone".

Personally, I never saw a "gap" in the timing of the texts between R and Dylan.

Yes he did vanish from a bus stop - the fact that he had been seen by a couple of passing motorists doesn't change the fact that he was never seen alive again. As a local I know quite a bit about this case as do my own teenage boys, who only need a gentle "remember Daniel" from me to be reminded to keep safe when out and about away from home. My point was that 13 yo boys can most definitely be abducted by a predator - which throughout these threads some have dismissed as highly unlikely or nigh impossible.
Dylan was seen by someone on Monday morning - his father.

We are on Thread 31 with very few facts.....so might as well throw in a few little fantasies along the way....:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Seriously, the SO could be a possibility.

BBM: If I'm going to go into a fantasy world, believe me, MR would be no part of it. I gave up on Mel Gibson years ago, too much drama. I've have to make up my own fantasy man.

If Dylan had a planned sleep over then I very much doubt mark would of worried on Monday afternoon If Dylan was not due home until the following day .

If Dylan's phone went wrong ( there is no proof for this ) then he is at home and has wifi and I think straight away he would of sent a message to Cory or Elaine . It was the way he communicated with mum and he would of told her the phone had gone wrong .
