folks sleuthing was opened on a family member (mark redwine) because of the search of the home and other factors. We normally do not allow sleuthing or speculation of any family members until or unless they are named a person of interest or a suspect. Corey Redwine is not included in rule changes.

he told this to the reporter recently

it is new information jjenny

I know he told this to reporter recently. That doesn't change what he told reporter previously, because that was a quote. The LE has not been consistent in this case. One LE person was quoted as saying both parents took lie detector tests. Later one they are quotes as saying LE doesn't release information on who took lie detector tests.
What Bender says now doesn't change what he already said before.

It is Bender saying "it could have been the next a.m." or is that Melissa speculating because they won't tell her?

it was the first time he discussed the pings/last SIGNAL from the phone (re: when it died)

yes, he has talked previously about the activity.

Obviously she is speculating since they wouldn't tell her.

I think it is her speculating.

That being said, LE is saying that they will not release when it died/last pinged.

yes, he has talked previously about the activity.

Why wouldn't pings be included in activity? He said no activity whatsoever.
To me that includes everything cell phone can do.

The cell phone activity / pings confuse the heck out of me. But the list of things on this case that confuse me is a very long (and growing) list!

  • #349
I think by activity he means no incoming/outgoing texts or calls etc. That should not be confused with when the phone shut off. I think this is where the confusion lies. He said no activity past Sunday night but he will not say when it actually shut off. And honestly I can see why. This could end up being a big part of their case....if there ever is one.

not based on what he told the reporter yesterday... that they are not releasing the info on when the phone died/last pinged.

you know, the reporter is trying to find out NEW information to give to the public.

So.. there you go.. there is a bit of new information.

I think it is her speculating.

That being said, LE is saying that they will not release when it died/last pinged.

That alone gives me hope that LE finds the pings significant. At least it sounds like they have information they would like to control. Probably just want to prevent a search party from going haywire and/or vigilante but y'never know.....

exactly.

slightly o/t: I saw a 48 hours case on two women (best friends) that conspired to kill one of the women's husband. There was hardly any evidence but their phone pings/locations of those pings. They were the center of the case/circumstantial evidence.

I think LE released the timeline for Sunday with the times of the phone activity because while it is a case detail it is not one that would harm any future prosecution of the case :moo:

Again, they said the same about lie detector tests. That they are no releasing this information on who took lie detector tests. Even though they were already quoted saying both parents took lie detector tests.

While I do understand LE keeping the information about last pings/when phone shut off under wraps it might be very helpful for those who are going to search (such as Sadie the bloodhound). For all we know the last ping was in Durango or Bayfield or even further away.
My guess is going to be last ping/shut off occurred at or near MR's house. Just based on what LE has stated about abduction or something happened at that house.

  • #355
LE already did many searches. If phone was pinging somewhere else other than the house, clearly LE would have searched there.

it would seem that they HAVE conducted recent searches and kept them on the DL. When LE searches they do so with leads and tips. Those searches could very well be related partially to cell phone forensics that came back (those were also mentioned at the same time as the searches were reported on)

The public does not need to know this information imhoo.

there was recently five new areas searched and they also got some of the forensics back (could have been phone forensics):twocents:

Do we know everywhere they've searched? And here's my thought too. IF MR did something to Dylan he could have done it in Durango or on the way home but took Dylan's phone home with him. Thus the phone shows proof (pings) that Dylan was there.

Agreed and they did not tell us exactly where those searches were. They did say they were based on tips IIRC but would they tell us if they were based on pings? No they would not.

Thank you, NC Analyzer!!! :gthanks:

It seems some people are trying to shoot the messenger here!

:dunno:

For me, I'm not trying to shoot the messenger, but to keep track of accurate info. The info in the post you quoted is inaccurate. The reporter didn't say no cell activity after 9:37. Here's her twitter so you can check it -

Bender didn't say no cell activity after 9:37 in the video or article. Nobody said no cell activity after 9:37 in the video or article. Txjan's transcript is linked not too far back, and here's the article and video -
