exactly.

slightly o/t: I saw a 48 hours case on two women (best friends) that conspired to kill one of the women's husband. There was hardly any evidence but their phone pings/locations of those pings. They were the center of the case/circumstantial evidence.

I think LE released the timeline for Sunday with the times of the phone activity because while it is a case detail it is not one that would harm any future prosecution of the case :moo:

When will people stop taking their cell phones along on crimes and planning all the crime details with their phones? Doesn't anyone watch TV ? Honestly I'm surprised that anyone gets away with murder these days because the electronic age has made it pretty impossible. The cameras on all streets and bridges showing people driving over to this town or that before , during and after a murder is committed and then they claim they were in W Virginia all weekend but you can see clearly they drove to Atlanta on cameras .

I personally think it was sent via the iPod and LE found it when they took the iPod from MR's home. And this is why it was not mentioned early on. The iPod would most likely sent texts through an email account. When I get texts from my Grandson on his iPod they show as coming from the email account he set up to be able to text from the iPod.

Psychic, do we know for sure that it was from Dylan? What do you think? TIA:moo:

Nope. There would be no way to know for sure who it was sent by.

What I would like to know is, how on earth did they ever solve crimes before cell phones? LOL Cell phones are a huge aid to LE these days.

And now that we KNOW he could text from the house, and his phone was fine that night, and not left in the truck, or lost in the yard---it makes even less sense that he never texted his friends that morning. If he had time to watch cartoons and eat cereal then he had time to reach out to his buddies that were waiting for him. JMO

Yes, he would have at least let his friend know that he would be late because his dad had left (or responded to R's text "where are you?")

In the case of an abduction from the home, (while Dylan is eating his bowl of cereral i.e.) he was bright enough to have dialed 911.

If he was heading out to go hitchhiking to town, he would have notified SOMEONE that he was doing so - a phone call, text, or even leaving a note for his father!

It's pretty darn clear that Dylan did not have ANY type of communication at his disposal that morning. This is what leads me to believe (OMO) that he never made it to the house at all. Would his dad take all of his means of communication away that morning before he left for his errands? That doesn't make any sense. Dylan lost communication (cell phone) somewhere along the road between McDonalds and MRs home. And now according to MR, they arrived at the home just after the reported time of the cell phone being shut off.

More phone stuff FWIW -

The La Plata County Sheriff’s Department says the boy’s cell phone has been turned off for several days, and they can’t track it down.

National public radio in CO Nov 26th - http://radiocoloradocollege.org/2012/11/searchers-still-seek-clues-to-missing-colorado-springs-boy/

“There’s a combination of factors,” Bender said. “There’s been the passage of time without any sightings; Dylan was not a visitor but had friends here; he has a history of staying in contact with his family and friends; and there’s been nothing on his cellphone record since he was reported missing.”

I tend to agree. He at the very least had a cell phone (with service) and an iPod with texting capabilities. I don't see any way he would have not contacted his friends Monday morning if he was able to.

**just a brief correction to your last sentence though. We don't know when the cell phone was shut off.

At 8:01 Dylan (or Dylan's cell phone) started a texting conversation with RN. There were several back and forth texts without any time stamp after the first text at 8:01. There could have been up to 9 minutes of lag time (or more) in between each text. So technically this conversation could have gone on until approx. 9:30 pm (if Ranch did the math right). Or if they were fast responses it could have been over by say 8:10 or so. We just don't know.

Well we know he was reported missing late Monday afternoon but when exactly did he vanish?

I suppose they could have tried to get fingerprints off the iPod. Since Dylan's phone is also missing obviously they can't get fingerprints off of it.

Anybody could have used Dylan's phone or iPod to send a text.

Wow! After getting up early and seeing my shadow, I decided to go back to bed and sleep late. Now I'm 10 pages behind!

I've got one important thing to do before I go back and get caught up. It's my BIRTHDAY today, and I want to go ahead and make my birthday wish:

I WISH FOR DYLAN TO COME HOME TODAY!!!!

Now to go read...

I'm going to throw MR a bone here. If he is responsible for DR's disappearance, why doesn't he attempt to explain away the lack of texts? If he knows he's guilty and that DR's text stops is a big red flag, why not say ' he dropped his phone and it broke ' or something to explain it away. Because the lack of explanation seems so much more suspicious, one would think he would offer up any kind of excuse for why DR stopped. MOOOO but it could be !

Maybe this will be in the interview when the reporter uploads it to youtube. We can hope. But even if he dropped the phone and broke it, what about the iPod?

Well IDK about the ipod and I'm not even suggesting that MR witnessed Dylan's phone drop and become destroyed. I'm just saying if he knows what happened to that phone and knows it's made the timeline make HIM look really bad why doesn't he attempt to explain it a bit ? It's just one tiny sliver that points to he may be innocent. I'm trying to look at everything and it's difficult. Although I lean heavily towards MR , so many things that don't make sense make me want to look at anything else , just in case. I'm just thinking a guilty man who's already lied would tell even more lies about the phone, so why hasn't he done that ? Unless he's in fact innocent? See ?

Considering MR says he texted Dylan on Monday, how would he explain why he was texting him if he knew his cell phone was broken?

3 new posts about Dylan on the PI's facebook. I'm assuming we're allowed to link to it since it's a business. If not, please accept my apology.

edit - I should have said the posts aren't earth shattering or anything
