Hmmm...

That sure hurts your heart doesn't it

I sooo hope for her that her son will come home safe to her...

Absolutely gut-wrenching....

I took some notes:

* ER went along the road looking for footprints as Dylan's shoe treads were distinctive. She stated she did not believe he took off walking though & gave a number of reasons why she believed that.

* She wonders if something may have happened Sunday night.

* MR has been "difficult & evasive"

* Her Mom has Stage 4 cancer

* In Sept. Judge talked to Dylan one-on-on & the record is sealed. LE are the only ones allowed to access the sealed records.

* MR has violent tendencies, but she hopes will all her heart he didn't hurt Dylan.

when she said something like....I'm his Mother, I have to have hope.....

the flood gates opened and my heart broke for her and Cory

for me it was when she said, it's my job and someone took that

It seems from hearing what you all have transcribed that MB did some editing with her broadcast that was not flattering to ER or was more flattering to MR. For instance the part MRs PC transcribed above in post 200. Is that a correct assumption?

If my assumption above is correct, then I wonder why?

Is that supposed to be ' didn't not believe' or did you mean ' did not believe'?

Regarding the sealed records...
She said "They were released to law enforcement but they won't release them to anybody other than law enforcement."

I believe she said that LE did have the sealed records

It seems to me that the interview was edited in a way that did a disservice to Elaine.

  • #211
Wow. Heart wrenching. As a mom, I could feel that pain.

Thanks & I fixed that and about LE records as it was unclear to me.

I don't think she did it intentionally. I think she had only so much alloted time and she used the parts she thought the viewing audience wanted to hear.

What will be interesting is the 2 hour interview with Mark....I mean Elaine's was only 24 minutes...

Personally, I want to see the unedited footage with MR before I evaluate how fair I think MB was. :moo:

I was surprised though that she didn't have more questions prepared for Elaine. :moo:

I'm always so moved by the "hope" that people like ER have for their babies...

but at the same time, it saddens me so....I mean, I guess I'm a cynic. It's like too much hope creates a false sense of things to come sometimes.

I saw an ad for a tv show the other night & one line was "hope is dangerous" and it made me think of Dylan's case...so I was googling that line and it's from the movie - Shawshank Redemption. Anyway, I found a website afterward that better describes "hope" IMO ---

it's a "condition" people have - between possibility and despair

saying my prayers as I do ea night for the Dylans, the Kyrons, the Isabels, and all the other missing children...

What was it she said about ..someone 'assisting' (?) in Dylan's disappearance

( if I heard that right?)

I thought Blasius was very unprepared...there were such long lulls between questions...finally, someone in the background asked ER a question...not sure who that person was.

I would agree 100% with that. I'm so glad she posted it in full because I too thought the edited portion was not giving the whole picture and at times made Elaine look more mad than sad and clearly her heart is broken. You can't just cut like that, you need to hear before and after conversation. Which makes me want to hear MR's interview all that more. To get the entire context of his words.

Awww, so true. Thank you.

One thing that really stood out to me was she mentioned so many of the same things many of us have said here. She doesn't believe he started walking then got abducted, that an abductor would pack his bag, he wouldn't have hitchhiiked, he would have called or texted for a ride and the something could have happened Sunday night.
