And this is how I could see a father trying to discipline his son and it going south.

I wonder if maybe Dylan tried to play Elaine off Mark and he got annoyed. Most kids try to play one parent off the other and more so in divorces .

It is bothersome that dr woke up ate cereal and watched cartoons and didn't contact anyone. One way this could be explained in my opinion is if he knew someone was picking him up at a certain time. He would have his bag packed ready to go. Or maybe he didnt have it arranged but an old family "friend" came by while he was still sleeping and waited there watching cartoons while dr ate a bowl of cereal and got his stuff together. Maybe this person said your dad has a work emergency so i'm taking you back to your moms. Could be the iPod fell into the couch and he couldn't find it in the morning. The other alternative is the more popular theory that mr is responsible.

I wish we knew who else dr was messaging Sunday night and I think the friends might know more than has been released. Also I wonder if they found evidence of anyone else in the cabin. Obviously whoever picked him up if thats what happened wasnt as trusting as he thought.

It's just hard for me to get on board with mr doing something because it seems like he and dr had a good relationship judging on the baseball road trip and that Dylan's friends said so. And it's a no-win for mr no matter what so where is the motive? All of this to get back at er? Just seems like mark really loves Dylan so hard for me to accept. Why would he hurt what seems to be one of the only people in his life that he cares about?

This case is driving me crazy. I have a 12 and 13 year old and the pain for both parents must be unbearable. I just can't believe either parent is involved until I know more.

So Dylan was happy and laughing and joking with his friend. Then he arrives and suddenly the texts are short and not very forth coming . He seems almost desperate to see Ryan and is pushing to visit by declaring he will ring RN all day if he does not let him in. And yet desperate this he apparently just " slept in" the following morning which is in total contrast to the texts the night before.

I have seen these texts mentioned, but I have not seen them. If you have seen them do you have a link to the actual texts? I have searched for this but cannot find texts earlier than the one he sent him mother. And I think the frownie emoticon could be in respect to his head ringing issue he mentioned from the flight. He certainly did not send a frownie when he told Ryan he couldn't come until the next day. JMO

When I listened to ER, she sounds as though she had a choice whether Dylan went to his dad's or not, although I don't know if that's the case if the visit was court ordered.
You know…I wish I did because then he’d be home. I mean, I wish I could relive that day… and… and do things a lot differently. Umm… I had absolutely nothing to do with Dylan’s disappearance… and…I really feel sorry for the person who did.

Where she says she wishes she could relive that day ... and not tell Dylan he had to go? But then again, toward the end of the interview she talks about how Dylan was excited to make the trip.

I don't believe she had a choice. The wishing she could relive that day, IMO is the old "If I knew then what I know now" thinking.

Haven't they been divorced since 2008? I could see this if the divorce had happened recently, but after this long. jmo

They have not been released the ones from the afternoon . I assume the reporter saw them and that is his interpretation of them .

Wow- that uncut interview was hard to watch. Made a few notes along the way. I wonder what time ER texted Dylan on Sunday night? She says she tried to text him on Sunday night and Monday but that it wasn't unusual for Dylan not to return her texts right away and that she assumed he was with his friends. Would love a timeline of that!

When Blasius asked if ER had anything to do with Dylan's disappearance and ER stumbled...In context, I think ER stumbled because she doesn't think Dylan "disappeared" at all. I viewed it very much that she thinks harm has come to him but is trying so hard not to say it/believe it.

Also think she was trying extremely hard not to outright accuse MR of anything. She can be furious at him for "losing" Dylan since Dylan vanished on his watch without coming off as a bitter ex who is accusing him of murder. She strikes me as one tough cookie.

If DR is like my teen grandson, he doesn't take the time to unpack. He just retrieves what he needs from the backpack as he needs it. jmo

Also, I sure wish we knew WHY he was meeting with his divorce lawyer after they have been divorced for so long? Does anyone know? Appealing custody while Dylan was there - talking about an emergency custody order to keep him there and then lawyer says what you have won't get us emergency custody and then things go south? OR he and his lawyer draft an emergency order there at his office and he goes home and tells Dylan about the plans to keep him there and all hell breaks loose?
