Those are good questions.

Ryan apparently texted D on Monday at 10 am, telling him to come to Nando's.

So the question is, if someone READ that text on Monday, would LE still say that D's phone was inactive?

I wonder if it rang when people texted him, or did it go straight to Voice Mail?
If "someone" had read that text, wouldn't LE be aware of where and when the message was received?

But isn't that a tool LE uses??? When a person tells a story, if they tell it exactly the same way every time it's because they've practiced it and made parts of it up, but if it changes slightly each time, it's because it's not rehearsed and it's coming from memory, so not everything is going to be said each time???

It is not a 'slight' change when it goes from a dad texting his son continuously and searching the neighborhood for him, TO taking a 2 hour nap. JMO

Do you have a link to that? TIA

That's what I'm asking. I am assuming that it would 'ping' if someone turned on the phone and read the message. Right?

Even if LE know Mark has inconsistencies in his story then you still need proof and without any ( that we know of ) then what can LE do ?!

They need to find the body IMO !

I posted that version of his story upstream. All of the initial interviews said that. That is what he told Denise and what he told the news reporters. He said he was texting in spotty cell service areas and looking for his kid. And when he went to the friends house in Vallecito, the friend said he hadnt seen him.

I wonder if ER is just hearing about this nap...she must have loved that, if so.

Dylan’s father told investigators Dylan was at his house on County Road 500 when he left to do some errands at about 7:30 Monday morning. Mark Redwine said Dylan was gone when he returned to the house at about 11:30 a.m.

Mark reported Dylan as missing a little before 5 p.m. Monday after he was unable to find him during the afternoon.

Mark Redwine told investigators that he left the home early Monday morning to run some errands. When he returned four hours later, he said Dylan was gone. He reported the child missing around 6 p.m after reportedly searching the area that afternoon.

The station reports that after he searched for the boy himself, Mark called police and notified them Dylan was missing.

Mark Redwine says he remains puzzled why his son Dylan would try to walk to a friend’s house because the terrain is rugged where he lives and the house is a few miles away.

The Colorado Springs 13-year-old disappeared
Nov. 19 from his father’s house in Vallecito, northeast of Durango, where he had been on a court-ordered visit.

“He was sleeping on the couch, and I told him I had to go about my errands,” Mark Redwine said in a Sunday telephone interview. “He said, ‘OK, I understand.’ The focus for him was to go to his friend’s, but I live far back in the canyon. There’s a substantial distance between my house and the lake, so it doesn’t make sense that he would walk out, but he’s a 13-year-old boy, and who knows what they think sometimes?”

So in the above post, I found the earliest reports by Mark of what happened that day. Fo some reason, the reporters believed that MARK WENT OUT SEARCHING FOR HIS SON THAT DAY.

In reality, he texted him, then took a nap for the rest of the afternoon. :what:

MR's full interview sounded perfectly reasonable and appropriate to me - especially knowing the difference between how a typical male would handle something like this vs. a typical female (internalizing vs. externalizing). I will say that when I first saw ER's brief interview, her answer to the 'did you have anything to do with this?' question looked very suspicious, but after seeing the uncut version and putting it into context, I believe her version of events as well.

I think what we are going to likely end up having here is a random crime of opportunity from hitchhiking or a forced road abduction. I really don't see runaway as an option, and a kidnapping from either the mother or father went out the window for me after I saw those interviews. I suppose it's always possible the dad did something in a fit of rage - all the while brilliantly and pathologically leaving no discernable evidence that we know of in his home, on his property, or in his autos - but I'm not seeing any hints of this through the interviews, nor am I seeing it through the known evidence or time line. Another plausible - but not probable - scenario is that he set out on foot and had an accident while taking some kind of 'off the beaten path' shortcut.

I fear what we are going to end up with is an unsolved mystery.

I've been saying this practically since day 1. The RSO that lives within 1 mile of MR's house was busted for child 🤬🤬🤬🤬. 1000s of images. Not sure why he isn't still locked up. But in my opinion, LE should have not only talked to him and verified his alibi, they should have searched his house, high and low! He is a dangerous *!?* in my opinion and he is in a perfect position to have snatched Dylan off the street.

I will not cross this SO off my list as a potential perp, until LE tells us they have thoroughly checked him, his house, his car and anything else he had access too.

Salem

Do you recall his name? He's the relatively clean cut/young looking one, if I recall, right? I wouldn't mind sleuthing some more tomorrow from work.

I know I'm a few pages behind but if not already addressed, here is my post from Dec 2 about that RSO that lives next to MR.

Specifically the last link given there. It states...
"33 year old Ronald Ralph Simpson Jr. was arrested for Sexual Exploitation of Children. Agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement received information that Simpson was distributing child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 via peer-to-peer networks. A search warrant was obtained for Simpson’s apartment and was executed by the La Plata County Sherriff’s Office and ICE. The investigation revealed that Simpson had more than 1000 printed pictures of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and hundreds of CDs containing thousands of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 images in his possession."

I agree , I have felt like this for awhile now .

In my mind I know who is guilty but I just fear they may well get away with it .

GRACE: To you, Dan O`Donnell. Give it to me in a thumbnail. This little boy goes to visit Dad for Thanksgiving holiday. It`s about six hours away from here his mother and siblings now live. He gets there safely around afternoon, evening on Sunday before Thanksgiving, Monday morning dad heads out for errands, 7:30 a.m. Comes home four hours later, the boy`s gone.

What else do we know, Dan O`Donnell?

O`DONNELL: Right, well, the boy was last seen at 11:30, the father told investigators that he started his search on his own for about four hours, didn`t report him missing until the early evening on that Monday. The most bizarre thing about this case, though, Nancy, is that Dylan, a prolific texter as most 13-year-old boys are who have cell phones -- his phone was not used since 8:00 p.m. Sunday night. His phone was not even on after 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.

I wonder if this RSO has ever been charged with any physical crimes--like assault or abuse or burglary. ????

It may change a bit in the telling but the facts stay the same

Like...... trying to wake him up,..... he said he understood....., out like a light!
Its one or the other!
