Even if it was about money, why on God's green earth would he (MH) make that offer and do it on a FB page. It's tacky and quite disgusting.

Maybe it is tacky, but I understand it if he won't do it because of losing pay. It's an excuse. So if you offer to pay him the money he will lose what excuse will he have? No more excuses!

I get that, but is it necessary to do it on a public facebook page? I mean, really?

Man I have to seriously wonder if we are dealing with adults in this case.

I feel like I am in a circus but Dylan is not in the center ring.

I agree with you concerning the monetary offer from ER's boyfriend. That is just one more dig and insult toward MR. jmo

What's disgusting about it? It seems pragmatic, imo. MR gives his excuses as to why he cannot do it for 3 weeks, and MH gives him a possible solution. How is that disgusting?

Because it was done on a public FB page???

Do you happen to know off chance, the number of viewers in Colorado that watch the Dr. Phil show?

IIRC from the Lisa Irwin case it was 750,000 nationally, but this was some time ago.

I would be more interested in the stats from Colorado specifically and maybe New Mexico.

Dr. Phil's show had 4.287 million viewers (on average) for the week Baby Lisa's parents were on.
The most recent ratings were 4.399 million for last week.

Has Mark himself made a statement about the Dr Phil issue?

JMO, but I don't think Dr. Phil is any more or less interested in ratings than Jerry Springer, Dateline or Meet the Press. Television is a business, including the news division. Doesn't LE usually encourage parents of missing children to speak out and raise public awareness? I can't believe for a minute that MR's employers would fire him while his child is missing, no matter how much time he missed. The bad publicity would cost them much more than MR's missing work.

ER has maintained that MR will not communicate with her. I have no reason to doubt her. MR texting her about Dylan's disappearance re-enforces her statements IMO. The problem I have with MR's interview is that he is articulate and organized in his thinking when he recounts that Dylan was closer to him than to ER and that she resented their relationship. He is also clear in his recollections about past vacations with Dylan. It's only when he talks about the events of the evening of 11-18 and the following day that he becomes hard to follow, vague in the pertinent details and throws in extraneous information.

If Dylan has been abducted and is being held somewhere, all exposure, local, statewide, national can only help. All MOO

But sometimes, when people keep throwing one obstacle after another in the way, for reasons only they understand, you have to call their bluff. If MR really can't do the show because he would lose two days of pay, then let's find a way to compensate him for that time, and see if that changes his mind.

I disagree. I think there's nothing more that a cop hates than a cop killer. AND an ex cop/turned cop killer is the worst. I don't see anyone that takes this guy out having any remorse.

O/T
 PsychicSleuth. I think any healthy person would have remorse even if they knew it was the best thing. I don't think it is a natural thing to kill another and I think it hurts the soul, no matter what.

I hear what you are saying about LE and the cop killer though.

Just an ugly situation, all the way around.

And they have stated that he blocked their phones. I don't know if they have another way to present the offer to him?
MR's PI has stated on FB that MR is willing to go and has been in contact with the show.
We shall see.

I think MR should do Dr. Phil. There is always the slight chance that this apparence could lead to more national interest. Plus, Dylan's face will get out to about 4 million people.

Also, I am not sure if this sounds realistic...but the family could possibly meet people on the set that could help them get more attention. Kind of like...networking? I just feel this opportunity is a much better way for them to meet people in the press, than simply sending off emails.

Doing it publicly on the facebook page does nothing but make the case more about ER/MR and not Dylan to me. You can privately figure stuff like that out. The fact that he agreed to do it and gave dates shows me that there may be some merit in the fact that it is a financial or logistical issue and not just being a bum like everyone thinks.
I just hate when it feels like cases slip into "circus" mode because it always feels like attention slips from where it needs to be :(

I agree. I think it was out and out mean.

This whole situation is turning into the Casey Anthony mess. Unbelievable. And so very sad.

I strongly agree with the poster that noted how Dylan might feel if he saw his parents duking it out on Dr. Phil. In my personal opinion, I think that kid has been through enough of a tug-a-war and this nonsense should stop now.

This is about Dylan and everyone seems to be forgetting that as we watch this family implode on itself.

Makes my heart hurt.

Well tacky has not been in short supply all throughout this case. IMO.

You got that right! I think for the most part Elaine and Katt have tried to keep the official page tacky free (lol). But the other pages are so far beyond tacky it's not even funny.

And this is what matters.

What if it's not about pay but showing up to work??? What if it's about actually doing the job?? Someone is gonna have to do it if he doesn't. How does that reflect on his employment???

I have seen parents of missing children go on Maury. That trashy show where 90% of shows are finding out whether someone is the father or not. But parents will go on his show because it gives exposure to their child's case. I feel that if your child is missing, unless you have so many media offers coming in that you need to decline some, you should take what you can get.
