My scenario was not a random person. It would have been someone that lived or worked nearby and had reason to be on that road AND was familiar to Dylan through some means that would have encouraged trust - ie, friend of a friend or friend's parent or older sibling, someone from school or church or other activity, etc. Which would really narrow down the list because it doesn't look like many people live up there.

Looking at Google maps, it looks like a lot more houses are south of MR's - maybe Dylan did walk that far? I don't see that scenario though because of the phone and the backpack issues.

I agree.. it was also around the holiday which could equal an increase of people normally in the area.

Just because it is a remote area does not make that scenario impossible (and LE has not ruled it out)

I haven't researched this story extensively... Can someone confirm that - aside from MR's statements - there is no evidence of activity from Dylan (or that he was even alive) after 8p Sunday?

welcome poisonpill! :cheer:

there was an outgoing text from his device at 9:37 and LE will not tell the reporters when the cell phone died (re: lost signal)

Welcome Phil, what a loaded question !

I think MR knows Exactly what happend here.
And I have thought so from day one.
I really have not believed what the man has said so far and that JMO!

He is not going to talk to anyone!

My opinion was not made by comments on FB ..

I totally agree. I personally believe that whatever happened, happened Sunday night on the way home and/or overnight. I don't believe DR was on the couch Sunday night or Monday morning, or if he was, he was not living (was he OD'd/poisoned and then disposed of when MR got home from his errands in the morning?)
11:30-2:30 is enough time to do a pretty thorough cleaning.
If something happened in the car, there's gotta be evidence if it were a fight, strangulation, or even if he kicked DR out of the car and ran him down? But if something happened in the house, maybe MR was able to get rid of/clean the evidence effectively?
I hate to speculate these specific possibilities and of course I hope that isn't the case and he's alive and well, but I truly feel Sunday night drive home/overnight is when foul play occurred and I'm trying to figure out how that could be possible considering evidence left or not left behind. Where his body would be? IDK. the lake, most probably.

is it confirmed it was an OUTGOING text? I only read "last electronic communication", which makes me think it was simply the incoming text from RN at 9:37 that they're referring to. Can you clarify if it was actually an outgoing text from DR's phone at 9:37?
TIA.

I agree it's HIGHLY unlikely maybe even bordering on impossible.
But the way this case looks right now, rule out NOTHING . It's all
possible not matter how unlikely.

Not totally impossible, I guess, but it borders on insanely coincidental if the only person to have passed by was someone who had a thing for teen boys.

cheese posted the message from the reporter. I cannot even recall if it is in this thread or not.

Well not really. Possibly stretched to 9:37 if he did send that last communication.

My understanding is it is a dead end road. I wonder how many houses are past Mark's? All the neighbors have been interviewed at least once and I would guess have been asked if they were on the road that day, if they had any visitors, contractors, etc. at their home. In a very small town, you notice different people more as it is out of the norm, especially in the slow season. I just don't see a random car driving by on a dead end street.

One of the close neighbors is a RSO and could be very interested in a 13 year old boy for his photos/movies. Who's to say that the "random car" wasn't someone in the area looking for that neighbor who had been around often enough not to seem unusual?

If we know about nearby RSO's, LE certainly does, and probably knows about local weirdos who have not yet been caught for anything to land them on the list.

Thank you! And the name is Mike actually ;)

Oops sorry I thought it said PoisonPill.
The debate about when Dylan was last heard from is vast !
His mom said last txt about 8 and then LE said a txt was
made about 930 , but since then it's been rehashed a lot
that it may or may not be incoming or outgoing, so you 'll
have to believe what you like on that . Also its been debated
whether or not Dylan actually sent that or did someone else
,using his phone? I think we can all agree that by 8 or 9:37
at the LATEST Dylan Redwine became very quiet. Whether or
not that means he made it until morning is the source of MUCH
debate. Join the talk , glad to have you !

BBM - Yes, I think you two are talking about two different times, at least initially. I think you might be on the same page now! ER didn't go to sleep after MR's text; she grabbed some clothes, Dylan's brother, and headed out.

IMO

Just to make sure this doesn't get mixed up, because now it looks like you are talking about several different texting times -

Yes, Eileen was talking about 11:30am mon, and I thought she was talking about any time on Monday, and I identified the 4:30pm mon text from Mark to Elaine asking her if she had seen Dylan, after which Elaine finished her work day, and then went to Durango. But again, Eileen was talking about 11:30am mon, for which we don't know of any text from Mark to Elaine at that time.

Earlier today, I was also posting about ER texting Dylan Sunday night, Dylan not responding, ER not checking Dylan's status, and my assumption that ER had just gone to bed. Also I posted about ER texting Dylan Monday morning, Dylan still not responding, and ER just going to or staying at work and not checking Dylan's status.

Links were provided upthread. Thanks.

What if LE found someone that had a camera that showed that road? and who traveled it.

and that showed all of the homeowners coming and going???

There's the Ustream video neighbor next door that posted the videos of the rally.

http://okielegacy.us/

But my understanding is those don't automatically store the broadcasts while they're streaming - you have to set them to record. So even if it was pointed towards MRs house or towards the road that day, it may not have stored the video.

Maybe I'm wrong though. Is there anyone with experience with Ustream webcams watching this thread?
