I just think that MB is telling the truth. She has double checked her facts and i can not see her going around making up false rumors. Maybe Elaine has been misinformed for all i know or has been told not to say anything.

So another thing we could hash out. MR in the interview said VERIZON phone service is out until you get to the lake and then only in the 2 spots in his house. So we took that to assume he meant Dylans phone service but he might have meant his own. So do we know Dylan has Verizon as well? Yes Dylan was sitting in that one spot on couch , etc, but if phone service is so 'spotty' could be all of them are only available in that one spot .

Is there, by any chance, a time zone difference here? If so, this could account for the time discrepancies.

Being from Canada, I'm not as familiar with the US time zones, so I'm wondering if the time where ER is and where MR lives is different?

Good question! I have not seen them refer to an electronic device communication before and all prior statements talked about the cell phone.

I thought this really stood out when they made this statement that they were specifically not saying which device and for a reason. Another reason why I don't think it's the cell phone.

And another reason I wonder if someone added the (texting) to the press release info - an electronic device communication could even be an email (something they found later on the confiscated computer, ipod etc.)

Why would she be asked not to talk about that message? I can't think of a logical reason why they would tell her not to mention it. Unless they just meant the content of the message and she misunderstood, thought they meant not to mention it at all. Possible, I guess.
But I would bet my bottom dollar that LE has not deliberately lied, if they say a message was sent from his cell phone, then I believe them.
Maybe the message was not sent BY Dylan, and LE knows it.

Tho, I personally do not believe this to be the case here(ie.LE asking Elaine to withold certain info).. it is however absolutely a SOP in investigations. Just as quick example LE asked Holly Bob's family to withold alot of info and details...some that they have chosen later to go against that request and publicly share...

Yes, they will lie to a suspect. But they have no reason to lie to the public or to the family.

In essence LE IS SPEAKING DIRECTLY TO THE PERP VIA MEDIA..and they'll use whatever tactic they deem necessary to achieve the desired result..victim found, perp arrested AND convicted.

But then why would MB lie ?

She clearly states she has double checked and states it was via the phone and it was out going.

Hmmm. I thought NC Analyzer had pointedly ask this question of MB in several different ways with MB eventually stating that LE would not give her that specific info regarding the "text" and the device they are speaking of..

Would someone help a sister out if we now have specific confirmation from LE about this issue..TIA

To be honest with you, (and I'm not trying to start a debate with anyone), although I did try to get a straight answer to this exact question, MB was very "scattered" with her answers. First she said 8pm - Dylan texting. Then she said last text time 9:37pm. Then when I attempted to get specifics about the last text being cell, ipod, etc. she said he used the cell. Then she said she knew he had "several devices" but LE wouldn't reveal all their investigative techniques to her. Then the next day she started up with stating they were "sent" tweets and then she said the last text was sent from his cell phone at 9:37 pm.
I really don't think she is as focused on the details as we are here and although I don't think she is deliberately being deceptive, she doesn't realize exactly what we are attempting to determine...thus, she isn't being very detail specific. JMO
