Good question! I have not seen them refer to an electronic device communication before and all prior statements talked about the cell phone.

I thought this really stood out when they made this statement that they were specifically not saying which device and for a reason. Another reason why I don't think it's the cell phone.

It could be an email.
Or an instant message

We can ponder this till the cows come home!

WOW. THANK YOU FOR THAT INCREDIBLE ANALYSIS!!! And I believe he was the most evasive and deflective in addressing (he certainly didnt answer it) that last question. In other words I have not heard him give a reliable denial of involvement in Dylan's disappearance.

I actually think he did answer that last question. He was asked what the thought happened to Dylan. He said that he could only speculate but that he didn't want to point fingers at anyone or blame anyone.

I believe he was saying something without saying it. I think he was trying to be the better person and not say what he really thought, which would have been to point a finger back Elaine's way. Well, he didn't, he didn't say it. And tha'ts why it may sound evasive when in fact he was trying really hard NOT to say what he really thought. That's MO anyway.

Thanks asyousay! Any idea how common it is for ipods to have texting capabilities?

How to Text Message on an iPod Touch

Text messaging may be most commonly associated with cell phones, but thanks to several applications for the iPod touch, you can use your handheld device to send and receive texts -- for free. Numerous texting applications exist, and once you've got one downloaded and installed, you just need to make sure you're in a Wi-Fi zone in order to be able to send your texts. Downloading a free app and texting for free will lower your cellphone bill if you enjoy texting as a means of communication

But Elaine had every right to point a finger at Mark. Dylan was with him!
If Dylan went missing under Elaines care then I can say sure fire away but as I see it she was no where near them at the time. If it was reveresed Elaine would be the one we all would be pointing a finger at. I do not get the warm and fuzzies when MR speaks and in his interviews I dont think we are seeing the real MR. Elaine knows the real MR. And AZG knows the real MR. All we see is what he wants us to see. I do believe MR knows alot more than he is saying!

Seems to happen in too many of these cases.
People just disappear and in real life, lots of times are never found.

Think how amazing it is, really, when bodies are found. It is almost always by chance. If various people walked a few yards in a different direction, they would not have located many missing persons.

One way or another i believe this case will be solved
and Dylan found. I believe they have clues and evidence..Think Columbo: "...and one more thing..."

Dylan's mother was saying the cell phone was last used around 8:00 pm.
Now we find out that there was a message at 9:37 pm.
So we are trying to figure out why the discrepancy.
Also, at 9:37 pm Dylan should have already arrived at MR's home.
So that message presumably verifies Dylan actually arrived at MR's home.

Not really!
If that text came from his cell phone he could still be riding in the truck somewhere, not sure they ever went to that house. jmo

he had already made his opinion of ER quite clear IMO, the anger and vitriol he feels towards her was overt on more than one occasion, particularly the start of his interview.

everything he says goes round and round in circles, when if he is innocent he could have simply said I did not harm my son, it would be straightforward and direct instead of waffling on without actually answering the question.

Unfortunately for him his story has more holes in it than swiss cheese, his credibility is suspect due to his actions and behaviour.

what if Dylan didn't swap to the ipod, someone else used it because they didn't want the text traced to themselves?

IMO LE have released the info about there being a text from Dylans 'electronic device' to put the wind up the sender and the receiver of that text hoping that they would then fess up what happened to Dylan.

I'm still not convinced that Dylan was at the house sunday night.

Im not either!

Another thing that bothers me is everything of Dylans was missing. Everything but that I Pod,

I think it is due to Mom saying that his phone activity stopped at or about 8pm. And why she would not have seen this last text on the bill.

Because it was not on the bill! It was a free app! JMO

But who received that message!

When MB double checked on the text at 9:37 being sent from Dylan's phone, she got the info by email from Bender -

Sherry ‏@SherryGrondin
@DylanRedwine @MelissaBlasius @SherryGrondin WHO confirmed. Where can that confirmation be found? Media article? Press release? Where?

Melissa Blasius ‏@MelissaBlasius
@SherryGrondin LPCSO Spokesman Dan Bender. Again, do you have info to say otherwise?

Sherry ‏@SherryGrondin
@MelissaBlasius Bender told you? Do you have that on video? Why no press release from LE stating same?

Melissa Blasius ‏@MelissaBlasius
@SherryGrondin Since Mark's and Elaine's stories differed about test times during my interviews, I emailed Bender when I returned to Denver.

Melissa Blasius ‏@MelissaBlasius
@ClarystaInSun @kyleclark @9news It was sent from his phone #dylanredwine

She emailed Bender? Why can't we just email Bender?
Supposing someone did and he answers these questions.
If he answers them so freely for MB then they're not secret.
They're more like so small , maybe, he doesn't realize their
significance?

Or maybe they're not significant and we just hope they are :(

I'm late to the game here as I've had personal issues to attend to, but I just read MR's transcript. I hate to drag out the statement analysis stuff again, but what struck me most about the interview was the EXTRA information. The statements of what he did, and then the *because* - the why of it - explaining why he did every little thing. The statement analysis people see that as a red flag b/c people restating facts that are true don't feel the need to explain, justify, etc. It's people who are creating stories who need to give background to convince others that it's plausible, b/c it doesn't sound plausible to the
person saying it.
When he started all that explaining it was around the movie Sunday night. He was pacing the floor. and all these umms, you knows, and all these explanations of what and why. That's a timeframe that needs to be clarified more.

The other thing was, when MB asked MR if he felt guilt, he said something like - especially when I think of him lying on the couch and I didn't try harder to wake him. That hit me b.c all along it's been a bit chilling to me when I hear how DR was "out like a light" on the couch in the AM. and that's the part MR feels guilt about. I just don't think DR was simply asleep on the couch that morning.

I think there's a lot in that interview to take note of, and thanks to whomever transcribed it. This is just what struck me initially.

And that is what i have been saying also!

but their stories wouldn't differ about the test times if they were telling the truth.

I think she might have meant TEXT times ??

Text times. It was a typo

Could that 9:37 txt have said something like " dads' about to go to sleep, i'll be ready in half an hr or so '' or any variation of that ?

Also I'm so back on the fence today. I find it equally plausible MR has done something as he has not ! I'm very concerned about the ' pacing around' and ' running' up to bed . That does not sound like a guy as tired as he describes. He comes home the next day and takes a nap like someone who was up late. It SEEMS like an adrenaline rush to me. Lots of things can cause a sudden adrenaline rush trauma, pain, fear , crisis , etc. This is totally speculative but I keep thinking back to it.
Grandma, sorry if you answered this already.. is MR a pacer? A chronically hyper type of guy ? tia

MR says he tried to contact Dylan all morning and got nothing. Why would that be? But there was a cereal bowl and the TV was on, all his stuff was gone. It makes no sense. MR sounds as if he is justifying everything he says.

iirc he said that he wanted to know if Dylan needed him to pick up anything while he was in town. He also said he wanted to know if he was up and about yet.

Catching up so sorry if this has been covered, what kind of PI did they employ? I don't know this MO or the lady that is helping from Adam, but I would think that a professional would know to contact somebody with something important using another means, fb page is NOT that means IMO. Call, email, even fb message. Makes me wonder.
