I quit watching that show about 5 years ago because of the subjects and people has on. He just stirs things up. And that is JMO.

Dr Phil only books guests that can enrich Dr Phil's bank account. He doesn't book guests to help people. He needs drama.

I lost what little respect I had for him when he paid George and Cindy Anthony the big bucks to spew their lies. Mark should stay far away from any of Dr Phil's manufactured drama. MOO.

Mine, too. I use to love him when he was on Oprah, his advice was homespun. Since he got his own show he had to go for stirring things up to get viewers and ratings and it became less about helping people and more about entertainment and ratings value. IMO

I absolutely cannot stand him. I've heard so many things about him being a rick with a P. He's definitely all about ratings. He was on the Talk the other day pimping out his show. Who does that unless all they care about is their viewership and ratings?

People said if he was innocent he would answer questions and give interviews. That's not what happened when he did. Instead all the armchair psychiatrists and therapists have read every twitch, scratch, purse of the lips and hand gesture as signs he's guilty and hiding something. I don't see how this is going to change anyone's mind who has already decided he's culpable. IMO

Hallelujah. People love a train wreck and to feed their obsession into others' private lives. That is all this is about. Finding Dylan has seemingly taken a back seat to the soap opera and collective thirst for blood. JMO.

Furthermore, why does this family's drama have to be televised? They should meet of course, but it doesn't need to be televised FFS.

I was looking at the possible themes on the website. They are:

Have You Raised the Next Mass-Shooter?
Do You Have Fat Hands or Chubby Fingers?
Biggest Brat in America?
Under the Influence of Mind Control?

LOL wow.

Um, what? It's completely normal for celebrities to go on talk shows to promote their projects. And why shouldn't he care about ratings? That's his job. Everyone who has a TV show wants it to excel in the ratings, just like everyone who is in movies wants it to be a smash at the box office, and everyone in the music industry wants their songs to chart high. Absolutely nothing wrong that that.

Yep, a bunch of voyeurs wanting a good drama.

OT, locally we have a big manhunt going for a former LAPD officer who has killed 3 people and shot several others. Two innocent women who were delivering newpapers in the early morning were shot by police in Torrance because they were in a truck similar to the one of the former police officer.

He was fired and is now on a rampage to kill every officer and their family members who were involved in him getting fired from his job. This is craziness. The police around here are on high alert and the whole area is like an armed camp.

I agree. That's my point. He doesn't care about Dylan being missing. He wants the drama of having the whole family there. It's entertainment value.

Okay. Yes, the fact that he won't do the show unless both parents show up speaks volumes. The producers are probably praying they they agree, and then get into a yelling match on stage.

I have been following that on the news. Stay safe and take care!!

And the sad part is that the focus should be on Dylan, but it seems to be more about the family drama and MR. He tried staying in the background so that the focus was not on him, but that didn't work, he kept getting called out, people "rallying" at his home, so he comes out with interviews and now the focus is all on him, not Dylan.

When is it going to be on Dylan???

Well if she believes her ex holds the key to that info, then getting Dylan's picture out nationwide is likely of little value. Therefore, it only confirms my opinion that her intent is to angrily confront him, and he would be a fool to open himself up to her like that on a sensationalistic talk show. JMO.

No, not at all. Maybe he holds the key, but someone watching might recognize him and Dylan and remember something important.

You cannot 'stay in the background' when you are the last one to see your missing child. You need to be proactive and transparent and open and visible. JMO

Dr. Phil will demand straight answers and watch out if something doesn't make sense or doesn't add up. No, I can't see him going.

After learning more, I retract the statement that I made earlier about this help being a positive thing. :floorlaugh:

I hope this doesn't just create more drama. The family doesn't need that.

BBM... but they're about to get it, it seems. This makes me so sad and frankly kind of sick to my stomach. If everything was about finding Dylan I'd be thrilled! But with all these semi-famous or wanting-to-be famous PI types getting involved, I have to wonder if Dylan's still the main focus. I sure hope so.

It's TV "ratings month" now or soon, isn't it? Ugh. I'm holding out hope that the publicity helps, but so far I'm envisioning it doing more harm than good. :(

Well glad to know that Dylan's being still missing and the continued search for him being brought forth before the media and the public isn't dependant upon opinions.. as he'd long since been forgotten due to Not liking this one, that one, or the other one regarding whose deemed fit to use to publicize this missing young man..

I am thankful for Dylan's sake his family are able to focus on the entire point of needing to be in the media, period..

My God this is of the utmost importance ESPECIALLY if its believed Mark Redwine isn't involved!..the attention is even more important from that POV.

But why won't he go on the show (confession: I don't own a TV and I've never seen the show, but from what I can gather, it's tamer than some of the other ones, right)? If he's being truthful, what a great chance, and possibly the last great chance, to get national media attention for your son.

He could just go on, say that yeah, they had a hell of a divorce, and get on with it. If he's as nice as he says he is, and his hands are as clean as he says they are, why not?

AMEN SISTAH! When you are a mom or dad you do anything for your child, risking public criticism and endless ridicule, especially if it could mean saving their life. I cannot fathom doing anything less...

I don't think the Dr. Phil show is expecting any big ratings increase since there aren't too many people out there who knows about this case, and who would tune in to watch it. I think the producers view this episode like any other episode that they've had in the show's history.

Just my opinion, but I don't see MR appearing anywhere that he might have to answer a question without circular reasoning and spin. I don't care if that is with a private mediator or on a famous talk show. The man hasn't given a straightforward answer yet and I don't expect that to change in the future. I just wish the FBI would have another go at him. MOO
