I could go into more detail why I think that a lot of companies are trying to get by with far fewer people than in the past but it would belong in the political pavilion and not here.

I can imagine some managers being under so much pressure from higher ups to get the job done no matter what or their fired, that things like you described are happening. MOO.
There have been many layoffs and business closings in this area over the last few years, so for every job that opens up, there are probably a few hundred people applying for it (in a town of under 15,000). I don't pay a lot of attention to things like that these days, but I know of at least 1000 people who have been laid off in the past 5 years or so here.

I had tried telling him that it was illegal, but he just got a job down south somewhere and moved there. Sorry for the O/T Salem, I'm done now!

This is all I can find in MSM about the Dr Phil show. Was there another article about it?

“Dr. Phil is offering to put us on this Wednesday,” she said, referring to daytime talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw.

“I would love for (Mark Redwine) to join us,” she said. “It’s very important that we get this information about Dylan out there. As I’ve said all along, this is only about finding Dylan, and we need to work together as a team to do this.”

That's the only MSM article that I've seen. They haven't been able to get together as a team so far and even if they all get together on the Dr Phil Show, in my opinion it wont be as a team.

Even if it was about money, why on God's green earth would he (MH) make that offer and do it on a FB page. It's tacky and quite disgusting.

Exactly! IMO, it was to goad him into doing it, and yes, it was tacky!

Mark may be thinking he can't afford to lose his job. I recall in the Haleigh Cummings case, Ronald took about 2 or 3 months off work, and when he said he was planning on going back to work, the company had fired him, NOT just because he took off work for so long but because he did not communicate with them in all that time, or give them any reason to believe he had any intentions of going back. They had no choice but to fill that position he had held.
With the poor job market today, some people have to hold on to the jobs they have, and can't afford to give companies ANY excuse to fire them.

'

But sometimes, when people keep throwing one obstacle after another in the way, for reasons only they understand, you have to call their bluff. If MR really can't do the show because he would lose two days of pay, then let's find a way to compensate him for that time, and see if that changes his mind.

So why is it so important to them that Mark do the show, if they're only interested in finding Dylan, and keeping his name and face out there? If that is their reason, then it should not matter whether Mark is on or not. Right?

IMO, they want him on there to confront him, put him on the hot seat, make him look guiltier than he already does. And then if he refuses, they can say that's one more thing he isn't doing for Dylan.

Doing it publicly on the facebook page does nothing but make the case more about ER/MR and not Dylan to me. You can privately figure stuff like that out. The fact that he agreed to do it and gave dates shows me that there may be some merit in the fact that it is a financial or logistical issue and not just being a bum like everyone thinks.
I just hate when it feels like cases slip into "circus" mode because it always feels like attention slips from where it needs to be :(

I agree with you, but I think this case turned into a circus almost from the very beginning, the minute ER took the gloves off and started accusing him in public.

MH could have called or texted Mark with the offer of money, he didn't have to do that on FB. And as I said previously, maybe it's not about the money, but maybe about job security.

Have you guys already discussed the heck out of this and I missed it:

Mark's note to Dylan at the end is heartwarming, in my opinion.

you beat me to it. I was just going to ask why it had Not been discussed. I thought maybe it was off limits or something. And I agree his entire message was very good especially the last part of it.

Who in the world would be so cruel as to report this horrible hoax. jmo

I just cringe at the whole idea of shows like Dr. Phil bringing on the parents of missing kids. It is never about getting the child's face "out there". And as far as I know, it never works. At least with NG, as much as she makes my teeth hurt, her show is mostly about crime, so she might get an audience more attuned to that aspect of a missing persons case, rather than the drama I fear would come from Dr. Phil's. I really think it would end up presenting the case as a custodial "theft" gone wrong, which turns people off, IMO.

I've been wondering since I first heard it if it wasn't a combination of the report of the dogs making a hit near the lake and the San Antonio man's body being found. It doesn't seem to take long for people to mix up a story and give the new version a life of its own. MOO

I know - it is hard to believe people can be so mean. But then we read it all day long right here. Still.... it's just hard to believe.

And yes, I thought the message was good. We are coming for you with everything we have and we are gonna bring you home.

Maybe having the PI guy and K9 Forensics team around to offer a little support will bring out the fighter in MR. That could be a good thing.

I have a nagging thought that it could have been MB the woman on Channel 9 that is negotiating this appearance on Phil's show. This maybe where we will see the missing hour of the interview. And if they run any part of MR's interview they need him there. Just a thought. jmo

Oh wow. You think that could be the case. It is really strange. But, it could be like the case of the LA cop gone nuts. One part of the story is that he killed a woman and her fiance. So, I was confused if it was the same case of the basketball coach and her husband that were murdered. He was in law enforcement too. Such similar stories and happening at the same time. jmo

If he's going back to work he's not disabled, right? Also, some states are "at will". They can terminate at will, meaning for any reason or no reason.

NO, if I understand it correctly, even 'at will' states cannot terminate for race, age or disability reasons.

Greetings fellow sleuths -

This is my first posting here, so I wanted to say hello and briefly introduce myself. I've been a lurker here for a long time, and I think I've read every single post in the Dylan Redwine forum. I've followed each development daily, have made pages of notes, cross-referenced information, and tried to use every ounce of knowledge, experience, and a healthy dose of intuition to help find an answer and bring Dylan home. The posted videos (especially the outtakes from the TV interviews) are very interesting.

My background includes 10+ years of search and rescue experience and although I am not law enforcement, I have spent a considerable amount of time working with police and detectives over the years. I would in no way consider myself an expert in missing persons but I've picked up a lot of knowledge over the years which will hopefully yield some insight into cases such as this. If I miss any forum rules along the way please nudge me – I definitely want to contribute in a positive fashion and following all guidelines.

Thanks!

I don't believe that there is any missing video. I don't know where to find it but MB tweeted that she uploaded all of the video that was shot and the rest of the time she spent at Mark's was setting up, taking down equipment and discussing things that where "not earthshaking." So there is no more video of Mark's interview.

Maybe if Dylan was a little boy of six or seven, I might believe it possible that someone might take him out in public at some point. But with a male teen, it seems very unlikely. You can't exactly hold his hand, so how do you keep him from running? He can articulate who he is very clearly and cannot be talked into any scenario about his parents not wanting him. Keeping a teenager alive is not really an option, IMO, if he was abducted, unless of course for some dreadful sexual purpose. But again, he can talk and tell someone to help him, even then.

Okay, thanks. I just remembered at first there were reports the interviews were 2 1/2 hours. And I don't think we ever saw LE's interview did we. jmo

Because MR was the last person known to have seen Dylan. He has a lot more to answer for than ER does.

Wait! So then this Dr. Phil show is going to be an interrogation? Rather than merely the opportunity to keep Dylan's face out there?

Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit! This is NOT about Dylan, then, it's about making Mark look guilty. Got it.
