my guess would be to identify any vehicles going into or out of the area as to the time period in question.
re: all the other possibilities that have not been ruled out, namely abduction
Also, since the tipster did not see the vehicle, maybe someone else did see an abandoned vehicle on the road Monday morning. Allegedly the Hispanic male ran out of gas, he either left his vehicle on the side of the road or maybe even left it parked where he was allegedly looking for rental properties. Someone could possibly identify the vehicle.
In my opinion, it is also possible the tipster was vacationing. It was a holiday weekend. Maybe they were even staying at a rental on a holiday trip? Not a local. Depending on their primary home location, Dylan's disappearance may not have been covered by the media. Just something to ponder when asking why they came forward three months later. If indeed it was 3 months later. LE is not obliged to tell us all the facts during an open investigation. The Force Investigators will not identify the person they interviewed over the weekend and will not say where the interview took place.
