Sorry if a bit off topic to any, but I have a question about what IMO is MR changing up the "facts" of the case..

He stated early on that Dylan left behind some of his clothes on the couch.. I would like to know why now do we have Mark Redwine stating NO CLOTHES, NO NOTHING LEFT BEHIND?

BOTH CANNOT BE TRUE, SO WHICH ONE OF THESE "FACTS" HAS HE NOT BEEN HONEST ABOUT?

I find it hard to believe that Dylan wouldn't respond to his friend. Especially considering Dylan was the one asking if he could get there that early.
From their evening communication, both seem to be concerned that Dylan could arrive and not upset grandma. Now all of the sudden he wouldn't respond, and not even ask where he should go? Considering his friend moved around a lot.

Jumping off your post, about R moving around a lot - I find it very strange that MR went to F's house instead of to R's grandmas house. This is the way MR describes it (which again sounds really strange IMO) It's like it comes out of his mouth, and then he starts getting nervous that it did:

As I was going down to Bayfield to check with Ryan, who I found at his friend Fernando’s house, and as soon as I went to Fernan…’cos I don’t know where all of them live –- but I knew a couple of ‘em live -- enough to get pointed in the right direction. First place I went, Boom… there’s Ryan and Fernando, and first words out of their mouth, “We haven’t heard from Dylan all day.”
That’s when it hit me that something wasn’t right, and I immediately went to the Marshall’s office in Bayfield.

Maybe because MR read the texts and he had the phone. JMO

What do you mean by his phone being "inoperable"? Do you think his phone was broken? What other reasons would he be "unable to use it?"

It could mean that the battery was discharged.

Or the battery was shorted out and unable to be charged.

Or perhaps the phone had a electronic malfunction that prevented it from working.

Or maybe it was physically destroyed.

MOO.

Sure could wonder that! But R didn't say he would be at F's house until the next day - - so if MR were reading the texts, would that make the phone ping?

  • #206
What makes you believe that?

I heard that Mark had a desktop, a laptop and he travels. It's just an opinion and not based upon any facts.

Yes as long as the battery is still ok the phone will ping.

We dont know when it stopped pinging we just know the last cell activity.

But according to LE, there was no activity on the phone after Sunday night. So that's not possible.

Thanks, so from there many have said the logical next step would be the ipod or landline I guess. So the ipod is broken too, or Dylan didn't have R's number to text him from the ipod? And the landline was not an option because Dylan didn't have R's number memorized?

Just trying to understand this line of reasoning...sure wish I knew what your theory is, if you are basing these ideas on a theory?

They did not say the phone was dead!
thy said no activity.

I think they said later on the phone went dead but I dont think it was till after that monday.

I think Dad had Dylans phone and read those texts!

Did he specifically say that, or was that the reporter's words?

I'm not sure if your asking me a question or not. I'm not trying to postulate a theory.

So we have to assume Dylan's phone was inoperable to explain away his lack of communication on Monday? Also we have to assume that he did not have the skills to obtain a phone number via information? Or that he would not know a single phone number to call? Seems like a lot of assumptions to me, with nothing to back any of them up.

This bears repeating.

His phone wasn't working, or the batteries were run down.

He wasn't bright enough to know anyone's number, nor how to use 411 to get a phone number.

The computers were either inoperable or off-limits due to being either password protected or not where he could get to them. (or perhaps they weren't working)

If he had an ipod touch, (which I guess he did since LE said they recovered his ipod texting account) that either didn't work or he chose not to utilize it.

He either hitchhiked and ran into a bad guy or someone came in the house and abducted him (along with his fishing pole and backpack) during the limited amount of time his father was gone.

For those who say I suspect the father because it's easier...you're right. It is easier for me to believe the idea that something happened either accidentally or on purpose by the one watching him, rather than believe that all or many of the things listed above happened.

I believe Dylan was using his phone (texting and/or playing games) until he fell asleep or until the battery died. Either way, I think the battery was dead when he got up in the morning and he watched tv and ate cereal while waiting for it to charge. He didn't use the ipod (if it was even possible) or the landline because he planned to call when the phone finished charging. For me it's just a matter of who/what kept him from eventually using the phone. MOO

This is a huge factor, whether the phone was dead or not. Do you know where you saw that the phone didn't go dead until later?

I think it was Dylan that was inoperable and not the phone.
He was not able to communicate ,has nothing at all to do with his phone.
He just couldnt call anyone or text anyone and thats JMO

Bender said no activity WHATSOEVER on the phone after Sunday night. If Dylan's phone received texts until 10 am on Monday, that would change LE's whole timeline. They said "last electronic communication" at 9:37 Sunday night. :moo:

The major reason I question whether Dylan ever arrived at Dad's house is because LE has consistently emphasized the lack of cellphone activity after Sunday evening. :moo:

Please don't tell me I need to rethink everything because Dylan's phone was actually still working on Monday!

I think that MR just got lucky and hit the correct place first. Maybe that's the place that's closer or that he was more familiar with. :moo:

Actually that was an answer to my question, wondering whether you have a working theory.

I just keep thinking that if Dylan were not able to use his cell phone (for whatever reason) that he would use the landline. If he didn't have R's number memorized, all he'd have to do is call his mom or dad to get it from them.
IMO, not having a way to communicate at all (broken phones, ipods, unavailable phone numbers) is a big leap. But again that's just my opinion.

  • #219
I was under the impression that when you plug the phone into the charger, it can then be used.

Its in a MSM way back in the beginning it stated that there was no activity after 8 and hey lost thesignal later. If i can find it again ill get it to you.

I think Mr had that phone in his possession that morning and read those texts while still at the house.
