A sent text is a text that was sent not received.
IM sure there are 50 to 100 more texts received on that phone over the next 24 hrs. Mom dad mom again. R.


This was a sent message. To who? Possibly R but we dont know that.

See the problem I have is I do not believe Dylan was in possession of his phone. So I dont think that text was sent by D. No mater if it was on the phone or on I pod the tablet the computer etc I dont think that was dylan at 9 37.

I think the vagueness of the 9:37 text is a red herring and that in fact it was the rec'vd text from RN. If someone knew DR was out of commission by 8-9PM Sunday night, as I believe he was, they might slip and say something about how the 9:37 text couldn't have been DR. Then someone may notice something is off and call in a tip.

Precisely! Not only a tip, but now MR is talking his head off. He can't seem to stop throwing BS. (Remember the Baffle them with BS). Comments about the lake early on. That he thought Dylan probably was not in the area anymore. That Dylan may have hitchhiked. Most recently that Dylan may be somewhere watching Mom & Dad bicker, that that is a "huge concern". All of MR's comments seem a little self serving to me. There is missing from all his comments anything that shows actual concern for his missing son.:banghead::moo:

Just a quick thought I had this morning. Last night some folks were wondering how Mark knew where to go in Bayfield... that maybe he had Dylan's phone and had received R's message to Dylan about going to N's. And Mark goes straight to N's, so it does look suspicious.

But Mark also said something to the effect that he knew where some of Dylan's friend's lived, but not all. Maybe since Dylan was supposed to join R at R's grandma's, he didn't know where the grandma lived. But if he did know where N lived, it would make sense to go there to see if N knew where R and Dylan were, or at least if N could point him in the direction of R's grandma's house.

Even though I'm still sitting on the fence, I do have questions about a lot of things Mark has said. But the fact that he went straight to where R and N were doesn't necessarily mean he knew they were there. JMO

The La Plata County Sheriff’s Department says the boy’s cell phone has been turned off for several days, and they can’t track it down.

Nov 28th -
“There’s a combination of factors,” Bender said. “There’s been the passage of time without any sightings; Dylan was not a visitor but had friends here; he has a history of staying in contact with his family and friends; and there’s been nothing on his cellphone record since he was reported missing.”

Then there's Bender's NG statement. All along, I've been confused about what constitutes activity, whether it's ingoing and outgoing communications only or does it also include pings? Since Bender first described finding the general location by pings, I assumed he meant no pings since Sunday evening. But now that I look at it again, I wonder if that's what he meant.

And finally the timeline statement. So no cell phone activity whatsoever after 9:37 if MB's followup is correct?

i just want to follow up that if there is zero activity after 9:37 it likely indicates the battery died or the phone was turned off. i realize there has been discussion about the house having bad reception but if he was able to send texts sporadically there's virtually no chance the signal would drop out to the point of the phone being unable to ping a tower at all for hours. if the last communication with the tower was the sending/receiving of a text followed by nothing else, it indicates to me someone sent a text and turned the phone off. jmo.

I don't think anyone's asked that of MR, ER, or MH. It would be nice to know though, especially if it was more than just the standard. (anywhere up to 10,000 would be standard imo)

If its a case of no texts being received since Sunday night, then Dylan wouldn't have seen the text from R asking where he was early on Monday morning - which could explain why Dylan didn't reply, as he didn't know R was awake and wondering where he was.

So, Dylan wakes up, assumes that R is probably still asleep seeing as he hasn't woken him up at 6.30m - and then gets himself some cereal, intending to text a bit later..... but something stopped him?

I was thinking of reasons why DR may not have texted besides what we have already discussed.

Dylan's actual battery inside the phone could have died, which would make the phone not chargeable. How old is the phone?

Dylan could have damaged his phone that morning by dropping it on the floor, in water, etc...

Jumping off your post, about R moving around a lot - I find it very strange that MR went to F's house instead of to R's grandmas house. This is the way MR describes it (which again sounds really strange IMO) It's like it comes out of his mouth, and then he starts getting nervous that it did:

My sons play games online but we have many healthy discussions about what's smart. I'm going to show them that person's comments and talk to them again. Very scary and I hope if Dylan had access to online pc or console games LE has checked his friends lists. And his father's online activity as well.

What if MR did put Dylan with someone, but that person turned out to be a creep? Especially as the reward money has grown, possibly keeping Dylan out of his dad's reach? Or worse, maybe turned out to be a predator?

Kids constantly receive friend requests via online gaming. People who allegedly want to play, challenge, etc...It is a prime spot to target kids. If parental controls are not set up or the kid has enabled geo location finding, there are many personal details that can be shared through gaming. Unknowingly or just not understanding the settings of online gaming programs. In my opinion, scary stuff.

I looked but could not find anything (though i didnt look through everything) on WS about him and have no idea how to start a thread. Tempers seem short. I'll toss us a softball to wind up the night. Does anyone think the K-9 team will be useful? Will they:

A) Find Dylan's body?
B) pick up a trace of his scent somewhere near MR's?
C) Find something/someone else out there?
D) Be completely inconclusive?

I'd like to think between the dog search and the huge audience that Dr Phil will garner (positive or negative, it is huge media exposure)....I really hope something gives in this case. Dylan has been gone too long. Thoughts?

I have a feeling they will find Dylan's body. JMHO I think the key to the search should be to start where Dylan was last seen in Durango and work towards MR's house.
