Thanks. So it's still very possible that he tried to hitchhike to visit friends and that was it. It wouldn't mean that he was upset about anything in his life. He could have simply been visiting friends, hitchhiking and he's probably in a field somewhere.

Keep in mind, there have been no sitings of him walking, etc. by anyone.

Thanks. Has there been any information to confirm that possibility ... hitchhiking? That is, did anyone come forward and say that they'd planned to get together while he was visiting his dad? How likely is it that he would have been a bit bored waiting for his dad so he went out for a bit ... planning to let his dad know where he was when he got there? There seem to be some long deserted stretches of road in the area. Isn't it possible that if he was hitchhiking ... abduction happened?

Where was the location of his last phone ping? Are there any maps of home, cell ping, town where he at one time lived?

Is anyone in the extended family a person of interest?

Basically, the father says a lot of things. My suggestion would be to review the media reports and view a couple of uncut interviews available. Everything can be found on the first thread as usual Otto...and good to see your here!

There is considerable family strife between the parents and a lot of finger pointing. LE has ruled out runaway and lost in the wilderness. Father has a history of hiding his children from both ex wives, but never as long as this. Phone texts, activity is a sore subject on this thread...as is most everything about this case. Very controversial and heated on this thread!

No POI named. LE has come out and said either something happened to him in the home or he left and met with foul play. The problem is, he had plans for the following morning with his buddies in another town and needed a ride from his dad. There was no communication from him after 9:37 pm and he was described by his mother as an avid texter. There was also no communication from him the following morning when his father left without giving him a ride to town. His father returned to the house at 11:30 am, found Dylan and his backpack missing. He thought nothing of it, although he said he attempted to text Dylan while he was gone, but he remained unconcerned and took a nap. He wasn't alarmed until late in the day when he eventually reported him missing at approx 6 pm. That's kind of the general jix of it.

LE has not even verified if the dogs picked up Dylan's scent at or near his father's house.

So it's also possible he never even made it to his dad's house Sunday night.

Dismissed by the maternal side.

I believe that there could be a number of possibilites, and as his friends have stated, it was not unknown for him to do this.

His friends have actually been a wealth of information regarding Dylan.

Dismiss hitch hiking abduction on what basis? They don't like dad?

Dylan had a history of hitch hiking. He was probably wasting time doing nothing while his dad was out for a few hours. He had friends in the area and he probably wanted to get together with them that evening ... did Dylan vanish on a Friday?

It seems quite possible that he walked to the nearby highway, stuck out his thumb and did not run away. How far away is the other Dillon?

I don't understand why hitch hiking abduction is not a strong possibility.

It's been discounted/pooped on here because it was "some" believe it happened ONLY once.

Other than DR was known to get what he wants/showed up unannounced/fearless. Oh well ....

How far was it from the house to the main highway?

Cheers. So is the theory that dad picked son up from the airport, they went home, dad murdered son, dad went shopping, dad came home hours later, son missing so he contacts authorities and ... authorities conclude that either he is a runaway or dad murdered him?

There are MANY theories and LE hasn't concluded anything.

Not quite that simple! :floorlaugh:

Dad picked him up at the airport. Trip to WalMart and McDonald's. Then home...according to dad. Extremely rural area. Father lives at the end of a dead end road. Nothing past them leaving McDonald's has been confirmed. The town dad lives in is so rural there isn't even any schools. Not ideal predator shopping area, IMO, but that's just MOO.

Impressive. That's it in a nut shell. If only we knew more...

Other Dillion is a little over 1 hour away.

What is a spark lighter though? I've never heard of that, and I used to smoke. Is it the same as a regular lighter? A long lighter used to light a grill or fireplace?
No, not at all. It's used to create a spark to light a gas. It's basically just metal and flint.

Thanks. I like to visualize the situation and one way is through maps. I looked at the maps a long time ago, but don't remember any of the addresses. There was an address for dad and a town down the highway. Do you or anyone else have them handy?

Dad's story about Dylan doesn't seem right at all. Did he assume that his son was out hitch hiking? What is his explanation for why he thought it was perfectly normal that his son was not at home when he got home ... and that he was unable to contact him? Did he not think that it was his responsibility to know where his son was, or he didn't care enough to track down his son when he had no idea where he was or what he was doing? That doesn't sound right. Dad napped for six hours in the middle of the day? Does he work night shift or was her really hungover?

The only thing LE to my knowledge has ruled out is runaway.

The dad allowed searches, did interviews with LE, did a formal interview with the task force, without a lawyer, LE started searching pretty much right away, thus I don't think they truly ever considered him a runaway.

They had SAR dogs the first night and the following day.

According to the mom there were no scent items for the dogs on the Monday, so they waited to the weekend before they went back and retrieved scent items.

Not sure what those very awesome doggy noses used to track with :waitasec:

Thus according to the mom no scent articles. LE has not stated this.

LE has come out repeatedly stating that he is not a suspect, but I am sure he is being looked at closely.

I as well though believe, due to the antics on the maternal side, that they have raised a number of red flags. That is MOO though.

I just have a router and we have multiple wireless devices that work just fine!

Yes as do I - it's a modem and wireless router combined. We each have laptops and other ipads/pods all being used wirelessly. The extender I described was needed because one device upstairs needed to be connected directly to the modem. I think this strand of conversation began because people were wondering if wireless connection was available in MR's house.

Home was not a predator shopping area, but highways are shopping areas for opportunitistic pedophiles.

Am I getting the cases mixed up? Isn't this the case where dad picked up his son for visitation at the airport. The next morning dad went out to run some errands and when he came home, his son was gone? Hadn't son and mom lived in the area a few years earlier ... about 6 miles away (??)? Wasn't it possible that he tried to hitchhike to meet a friend?

Has all of that been discounted, or am I thinking about a different case?

You've got a pretty good handle on the case otto. Welcome to the jungle.

Some people in Dylan's life insist he wouldn't hitchhike yet he had already hitchhiked previously. His mother had even warned him not to hitchhike again because he had hitchhiked. But for some reason, with all that, they are trying ti discount that he would do such a thing.:what:

He did have plans to go visit friends in the morning. The friends live in the town that he lived in before moving to Colorado Springs in July, and it's about 20 miles from the father's house. He was sleeping when his dad left, but could have gotten bored quickly once he did get up, especially if there was anything wrong with his phone. Judging from the time they were said to be at McDonald's and the time it has been said to take to drive from there to the house, the last phone ping should have been at the house, but LE isn't releasing that information.

They have said many times that the father is NOT a suspect or POI (in spite of all of the accusations against him), but they also say that nobody has been ruled out. MOO
