I do. If people routinely got dressed for school and work at night, and then went to bed for 8 hours, the world would be full of very smelly people. If a 13 year old has this habit, I think that something is "off" somewhere.

My son would take his shower, then put on CLEAN clothes and go to sleep. He smelled just fine the next morning at 7am when he rolled out of bed and brushed his teeth and left for school.

Did anyone see ER's FB post this morning? I have gone back to reread it and I can't find it. I think maybe it has been deleted.

If I read it correctly her tone almost sounded like MR's and her issues of the past had been put in the past and they were working together. If anyone read it and I am misinterpreting it, please advise. jmo

I agree and it is so painfully obvious. jmo

:banghead:

"Dylan was planning to come to R’s grandmother’s house, and he asked if she would care if he came over. And then the conversation ends.

Expecting Dylan, R set his alarm and woke up at 6:30 a.m. At 6:46, he sent a text to his friend, asking where he was."

I take this as R was at his grandmas that Sunday night since he set his alarm for 6:30am to wake up. jMO

:waitasec: Why would Dylan go all the way to Pagosa Springs just to turn around and come back to Bayfield with R?

ETA: Thank you Tennlynn for posting the article!

I did this ad a teen so I could have an extra 10 minuts of sleep. I can assure you I did not smell! And there was nothing "off" about it.

In fact, and I do NOT have a link, but ER's mother said that exact thing a few weeks ago . She said that it was easier to blame MR than a stranger because then they feel Dylan isn't hurt or something like that .

Thanks. I think that's in part why hitch hiking is not considered to be a good possibility - the outcome represents the worst case scenario. We have a 13 year old that was determined to get together with his friend early in the morning and who reportedly hitch hiked once with friends. Who knows how often he did it alone and didn't talk about it. It was enough of a concern that his mom had a talk with him about the dangers of hitch hiking.

I did read it this morning, but am not sure that was the meaning I took from it.

I thought it was more in response as to why they were appearing on the Dr. Phil show.

ER did not specify that in the message so it would be open for interpretation.

I don't think there is anything off about it either. Especially when we are talking about a 13 year old male. He was probably only starting to get interested in his own appearance.

That could be true in your world, but not necessarily in someone else's world. That's like saying my putting coffee on a timer the night before means I'm not getting ready for work on time. Actually, it just means I like hot coffee first thing. And yes, wearing clothes to bed and making coffee is equivalent to me, although I understand if it is not to you.

Really? Do people habitually get dressed for work and then go to sleep for 8 hours? I had no idea!

This is bordering once again, on blaming Dylan. There was nothing 'off' somewhere. He was a typical middle school boy who was sometimes late in the mornings and wanted a solution. JMO

Since he was so determined, one would think he would wake up on time.

I don't understand your post. I was not commenting on that. I was commenting on the bolded portion about R's comment 'coming'. He was asking DR if he was coming to Grandma's. That is when DR told him no. jmo

He wasnt getting dressed 'for work.' He was in middle school. He was wearing nylon basketball shorts and t-shirts. Clean ones. He smelled just fine.

Nobody seem to know why he didn't use his phone in the morning.

I realize that ... but the one possibility that explains him not using the phone is that the battery was dead. Since he didn't have an alarm and get up on time, I might also assume that his battery was dead.

No text ... no alarm ... why?

I did read it and like all of ER's posts, it was quietly heartbreaking. I interpreted it as she was willing to work through issues with MR to get through this. Poor lady, so much vitriol is attributed to her but is actually FB garbage.

His Dad said he tried to wake him up for 45 minutes, but he was out like a light and wouldnt budge. So why all of a sudden would he jump up after his ride left:?

Teenagers do that ... out cold, unable to snap out of it for an hour and then suddenly, there they are, heading out the door.
