Mark did do something with truckers. I am doubting he thought to google to see if truckers have an official website though. That is something that would never occur to me in a million years even though I may directly hand out fliers to truck drivers.

Im playing catch-up, so please forgive me if this has been posted.

DirecTV is showing the description of the Wednesday Dr Phil show as "Dylan's Disappearance: The interrogation, the polyraph...the results."

Check to see if there is any description for Tuesday, as I think it's supposed to be a two-parter and was confirmed by CR yesterday on FB.

There is:

"The Disappearance of Dylan: Who's to Blame?"

Yes, but to be honest, how many people think their child is going to go missing and would have any idea on how to search something like this out? I know some intelligent people who don't have the search skills to find "truckers who help find missing kids" on the web. It took WS 38 threads to get it up here.

I understand what you are saying but I'm sure Klaas Kids or some other organization has that information right handy.

I know it was rumored on FB awhile ago about putting posters on trucks.

Don't get me wrong; it's a great find and hopefully, someone will share the information with the family. It would have been nice if Mark (due to this line of work) had found this....

Here's the information on what MR did that is public knowledge:

“I do a lot of things on my own,” said Redwine, a truck driver. Among his other activities, “every time I get (back) into Durango, I talk to other truck drivers” to have them keep fliers in their rigs, he said.

So this Truckers Against Trafficking organization may be a good idea to suggest/consider since it would be on a much grander scale than just Durango drivers. MR may also be passing out fliers when he travels out of state, but I still think the more you can reach across the US the better. KWIM?

Very convenient that he " does it on his own" so nobody can verify his story . A lot like the day Dylan vanished .. MOO

I wonder if there are other "Trafficking" type organizations to consider that may have some resources in getting the word out about Dylan?

Does anyone know if it is a routine FBI practice to seek out these sorts of organizations to assist or as a resource?

I agree wholeheartedly and I assume everyone would. I just already saw people criticizing MR for not finding the website the day of the disappearance. I just tend to think that we should help parents and help them find resources because not everyone is going to even know where to look to find every possible resource on the planet. I was completely clueless up until recently that anything like this existed so I would have been one of those clueless parents if I had a kid disappear lol.

jumping off your post which I agree with

wouldn't it be good if LE had a 'kit' for parents of missing children and if parents could have a trustworthy LE vetted aide to assist them.

I meant outside of LE, to help the families wade through the first few weeks dealing with media etc

This is an old article. It has some information that has changed since it was written but it really does show what was going on the first couple of weeks of Dylan's disappearance.

From article:

Day 11: Wednesday, Nov. 28

9 a.m.: Mark Redwine tells the Herald that he does not think Dylan ran away because he had nothing to run away from.

1 p.m.: La Plata County Sheriff’s Office sends a news release saying they ruled out that Dylan ran away.

a lot of times the early period is the worst.

We have an entire section of resources here (see stickies area) that can be passed on to families of the missing (just fyi)

Actually they do at least if the CARD Team is involved and they give to the parents.
