In Part 2 of this Dr. Phil mystery, the family of 14-year-old Dylan Redwine, who has been missing for three months, continues to search for answers. Dr. Phil sits down one-on-one with Dylan's father, Mark, in an effort to help find Dylan. Was he the last person to see the teen? And, what does Mark think happened to his son? Mark says he’s tired of having the finger pointed at him, and he’s willing to take a polygraph test to help clear his name. When the time comes, will he take the test?

And how do you "go" to the Marshall's office if they are closed? I don't care if they have a staff of Marshall's or not, if reception is gone and the office is CLOSED, there is no way to get into the bldg. I've seen a lot of small town LE offices that close up at a certain time and from that point on, the doors are locked. If you need someone, you call 911 and they patch you through or you go to the Sheriff dept/City police dept or wherever they man a desk 24/7.

It appears that the Sheriff's office is in Durango. It would be the same Sheriff for all of La Plata County I assume? So we know he didn't go there. Was there an officer in the parking lot at the Marshall's office in Bayfield that he supposedly spoke to? :waitasec:

I'm guessing that Town of Bayfield maintains 24/7 emergency service through the Bayfield Marshal. The office is probably open short hours to deal with the services like background checks, etc.

Where are you seeing that? I see those hours for checking VINS and Fingerprints, but as far as any other hours they are 9:00 to 5:00. Am I looking in the wrong place.? If so please tell me where to check. tia

After hours spent searching for a federal marshal's office in Bayfield, the light bulb finally went on. The town of Bayfield elects the marshal's position in Bayfield.

In Colorado, cities, towns and villages decide whether to appoint or elect a Marshal, or have the board/council/city manager hire a Chief of Police as the top criminal law enforcement for their jurisdiction. Marshals are elected by the trustees to serve a fixed term, and chiefs of police can be fired at will by whomever hired them, just like any other employee.

If Bayfield is an actual city, in some states, small cities are policed by the town marshal, a peace officer, either elected or appointed. The sheriff is usually responsible for the non-city county areas. Durango has both a Sheriff and a Police dept. I assume that since Mark lived in a county area, not city, the Sheriff would be in charge of his house area.

K-9 Forensics should be on the ice soon! So anxious to hear if they will also hit on the lake. If they do does anyone know what LE's next step would be at this time? Do you believe they would try dive teams again with the weather conditions?

This may be be a really dumb question but I'll ask anyway... does anyone know if the dogs can still get hits on things above all that ice? I'm assuming not THROUGH the ice (these dogs are impressive but that would be beyond impressive!), but if there is a hole that happens to be say 20 or 30 feet from something, would there be enough scent for them to hit on that particular hole as kind of a starting point?

I think its the way its worded reported him missing from his home meaning he D. went missing from his home not that Mark called from his home.

The Marshall's office appears to be located in the town hall. They share the same address. The town hall is open 8:30am - 5pm. So it's possible he was speaking to someone there if he was there before 5pm. Not sure he was actually making a report with the Marshall's office though. :waitasec:

So, to me it would be like a small town chief of police or mayor.....
We still have a few cities in Ohio that hold "mayor" court...
