This may be be a really dumb question but I'll ask anyway... does anyone know if the dogs can still get hits on things above all that ice? I'm assuming not THROUGH the ice (these dogs are impressive but that would be beyond impressive!), but if there is a hole that happens to be say 20 or 30 feet from something, would there be enough scent for them to hit on that particular hole as kind of a starting point?

It was my understanding that they were going to cut "holes" in different spots in the ice.

I don't know the answer to your last question, but they must think they are able to since they are using the dogs this way....

To keep things in perspective, regardless of whether MR ever even went to Marshall's Office or not, whether he texted ER from there or not, or whether it was noon, 4:30, 5:00 or never, end result is there is one LE statement reported in MSM:

Mark Redwine alerted law enforcement about Dylan’s absence just before 6 p.m. Nov. 19, Bender said.

Which is 12 hours since he had last seen Dylan give or take . Shockingly lapse IMO

longer than that if you think Dylan never even made it to Mark's house.....

Especially from someone who "claims" to keep a close watch on his child. :furious:

they don't need to hunt them down, all it would take is a phone call to the telephone company and they get the number, address and account holders details real quick.

While I completely agree with you, I'd much, much rather have the manpower out looking for Dylan than tracking down what are likely empty threats. Let's say he's getting 5 calls a day... heck even 1 call a day... I'd rather have LE looking for Dylan than tracking down 7-35+ people per week (these are hypothetical numbers, I haven't seen any actual numbers, just that ,he's been getting threats). Plus then you've got all the many hours that would go into charging or citing them, paperwork, etc. If it's one or two specific people making repeated threats or the threats seem more serious then yes, IMO it makes sense to track those people down, but I would think just random crazies would take up an awful lot of LE time that could be devoted to other things.

All JMO of course.

And that's if you believe that MR last saw DR at 6:30 a.m/7:30 a.m. Monday morning ...otherwise, it is a longer timeframe

(i.e. 8:01 p.m. Sunday night throught 6:00 p.m. Monday night = 22 hours).

This is not a correction. I am just offering one possible scenario.

MR stated he texted ER from the Marshall's office. (links in above comments)

ER stated she thought it was closer to 4:30 when she received his text. We know that it had to be before 5:30. Because she was on the road by then.
http://www.pinerivertimes.com/news.asp?artid=1091

LE stated they received report from MR around 6.
It appears from your link that statement came from the Sheriff's office? Could MR have finished up with the Marshall's office and then called the Sheriff's office.

I am looking for the link where ER stated that she texted MR back and told him to contact the Sheriff's office. Maybe he followed up on that around 6? I think she said that she told him to contact the Sheriff's office on the Good Morning America interview. Will post when I find it.

See my previous post #203 - I think you'll find the link there. On second thought, you made need to provide a link for the GMA show because I'm not sure I remember having that! TIA

Nancy Grace 12/3 - Elaine says she called the sheriff and she says she called the Bayfield police. Sheriff call right after Mark texted at 4:30 or close to 5. Doesn't say when she called the Bayfield police.

REDWINE: Well, his dad texted me at around, oh, 4:30. Maybe it was closer to 5:00 on Monday. And I texted him back. You know, it was like, Well, we should call the sheriff. So I went ahead and I actually called the sheriff that day. I don`t know if Mark had called the sheriff that day, either, but I called the sheriff right after I got the text from Mark.

I went to my house, picked up a bag, grabbed my oldest son, Corey (ph), and we came to Durango.

snipped

GRACE: And then you found out he hadn`t been seen. So did you actually call the police?

REDWINE: I did call the police. I don`t know if Mark did or not, but I did, as well. I called the Bayfield police.

NANCY GRACE TRANSCRIPT
"GRACE: Everyone, taking your calls is Dylan`s mother. Now, Ms. Redwine, was -- did there come a time when you learned that Dylan was missing? How did that happen?

So I went ahead and I actually called the sheriff that day. I don’t know if Mark had called the sheriff that day, either, but I called the sheriff right after I got the text from Mark. Mark called Elaine Redwine and went to the Bayfield Marshall’s Office.

Dylan Redwine's father, Mark Redwine, reported the 13-year-old missing midday Nov. 19 from his house in the Vallecito area, about 22 miles northeast of Durango.
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/new...edwines-father-does-not-call-father-a-suspect

Mark reported Dylan as missing a little before 5 p.m. Monday after he was unable to find him during the afternoon.
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/new...in-bayfield-area-for-missing-dylan-redwine-13

Mark Redwine alerted law enforcement about Dylan’s absence just before 6 p.m. Nov. 19, Bender said.

But at that moment in time…, I felt the need to address this issue with mom, so I immediately asked her had she heard from him and indicated to her that I hadn’t heard from him all day and that I was at the Marshall’s office taking care of this, and that’s when pretty much all hell broke loose with her.
From Melissa Blasius Uncut Interview w/ MR available on Timeline/Media Thread.

Question:
Is there any additional MSM article missing related to notification at either Sheriff's Office or Marshall's Office by either MR or ER?

I see that I did previously provide the link from the NG show so not sure if there is anything else folks want me to add. Please advise. TIA

I can't find any Bayfield Police department. Weird that Elaine says she called the Sheriff and called the Bayfield Police around 5pm, but it's Mark who's on record as the one who filed the missing person report at 6pm.

I wish they'd release the 911 calls they got that day, and the initial police/missing reports. I'd like to see who did what, who said what, and when and where they did and said it.
