I dont even understand how you can use the term inconclusive with regards to the dogs ' hitting' on the lake. What does that even mean ? There are homeless people in the area, so it's probably one of them? Makes it not Dylan, so inconclusive ? I'm baffled by this . Unless they have a body to SEE who it is , how can they say that ?

Maybe they can't confirm that the dogs hitting on something was accurate, until they do find a body. Just guessing but that sounds right to me. Dogs sometimes give a false alert, so I hear.

Wasn't Samantha Koenig found under ice in a lake? I guess maybe the psycho told exactly where she was, I can't remember.

Quietly lighting a fresh candle for Dylan.
Silently lighting a new candle for the dogs.

You don't have to be quiet and silent unless it is your nature !
No one can silence you except a MOD ! :P js

They need to go to mediation as MR suggested.

To mediate what, exactly? There's no pending litigation (to my knowledge), so on what would they be coming to an agreement?

I know that most people seem to think MR was the cause of Dylan's disappearance. But, I have boys and although I know I can't judge Dylan's actions on what my children would do, I do often think that faced with a wait of a few hours, a lot of boys would go out and explore the area nearby rather than sit indoors.

Is it really totally unbelievable to think that Dylan didn't see the fishing pole at the house and that put the idea into his head that he could just kill some time by going over to the lake.... and then perhaps slipped in? Not saying he went fishing, just that he may have gone to have a bit of an explore. Lots of boys love poking about around lakes. And MR did mention a few areas around his house that he said Dylan was familar with and liked to go to.

I know his mum says he wasn't big on fishing..... but then his friends say he was a daredevil, he was outgoing and we know he used to spend hours and hours hanging around the neighbourhood.

He may have taken his backpack with him, already packed with all this clothes etc for a few days away - so that when MR pulled up in his car, Dylan could jump straight in without having to even go back inside the house. So, for me, I do still think that it is a possibility that he did leave the house to go outside for a bit, and that he met with a tragic accident.

At this point, it could be possible, however don't think it's likely for several reasons. He was a prolific texter and no texts were sent since the night before. His strong priority on this trip was to see his friends, so going off alone and exploring the lake doesn't seem likely, especially without texting or calling his friends first. Mark's behavior and demeanor is extremely suspicious, especially not being willing to take a lie detector test. Lastly, his mom said he didn't have experience or an interest in fishing.

The fact that the dad keeps mentioning the missing fishing pole sounds like a setup for the scenario you described above; MR can claim he went fishing on his own, slipped into the lake, and drowned.

I am filled with sadness and a sense of collective grief tonight. It's like the whole country knows Dylan is dead and by his own father's hand.

All I have to say after today's show is this:
Mark Redwine has not won and can never win. If in fact his goal is to torment Elaine and cause her pain, then he has accomplished that. If his goal is to eradicate the love that his sons have for their mother and not for him, he has lost forever. they will always love her and not him. Silencing Dylan cannot change that and will not make Mark feel any better. Cory saying he hates his dad just drives that point home harder. Elaine will always have her sons' love no matter where they are. Mark will never have his sons' love, and as he ages, that will only cause him more and more pain. One day his actions towards Dylan will cause him pain beyond belief and it will end his life, via the ways his lifestyle and choices and actions cause negativity and subsequently disease in the body. He cannot win as he is killing himself slowly but surely as he "silences" his son and ruins the lives of those he touches. If he receives no justice in the legal system, his karma will come as a lonely and painful old age and death. and beyond that, it's a greater mystery.

For Elaine to mourn and grieve and slowly heal, and continue to search until Dylan is found and given the love and respect of a burial, is for her to "win". For her to do what is best and most healing for herself and her family is for them all to "win". They will go on to live their lives, without their youngest family member and with the sadness and loss from that, but they will also experience and share love and joy and togetherness. That is something Mark Redwine will never experience. And he can't take that away from them, no matter what he does, or has done.

Hmmmm I thought there was a prank on the facebook pages. But I think I was wrong. Anyway, very interesting comments on there from real audience members. I thought it was a bad joke. But it's not.

Why else might LE take MR's ipod.? I assumed it was for texts. But I guess there could be other reasons to look over someone's ipod.

I haven't heard. I know it's going to be difficult to dive right now but they did do it with Samantha Koenig in Alaska. That lake was frozen also. It might take a special dive team? I don't see how they could wait. They have to at least try IMO. And the sooner the better. The wait must be agonizing for the family.

It's going to be difficult to dive the lake right now, but within the scope of what trained divers can do. If they can narrow down the location to a small area I could see them trying.

The depth of Lake Vellecito is a maximum of 110 feet which is still diveable but complicated at 8,000 feet in elevation - it's equal to a dive of 150 feet at sea level. It's likely much of the lake is shallower than this though. The amount of time a diver can spend searching is very short on each dive. Depending on depth, it would likely be under 20-30 minutes of dive time per day, per diver. Diving under the ice is also a technical challenge but it's done regularly and safe with proper gear and training.

They might be able to bring in a ROV - a swimming robot with a camera. The lake covers 2,700 acres overall so that's a lot of ground to cover.

A woman who is in a relationship with an abuser should NOT go to mediation with him. Most mediators would advise against mediation in such circumstances. A narcissistic abuser will attempt to manipulate both the spouse (ex spouse) and the mediator. Even Dr. Phil was worn out by MR!

Can pictures be stored on an ipod?

Also, do you remember if they took Mark's computers during the search?

Since at least 3-4 four dogs hit near the same area, would that make the use of the ROV more efficient? Are they readily available? tia

Are you a diver? Don't mean to be personal, but your name kinda' leans that way....lol

I've felt for a while that people were using the term mediator as "intermediary to improve communication." I think what they really need is a counselor.

I completely agree, I just didn't know what MR thought the aim of mediation would be.

At this point, they do not need a counselor. If by some miracle, Dylan is alive and returned home (which I sincerely doubt), then perhaps I would recommend some family counseling between MR and Dylan. Other than that, no. There is absolutely NO reason for Elaine to enter into counseling with her ex-husband. He is not part of her life and beyond the possible arrangements for Dylan's visits, there is no reason for her to have to have any contact with MR. As far as a visitation exchange, Dylan is plenty old enough to complete that without much parental involvement beyond a phone call, which could be easily handled by a third party if necessary.
Women should never be subjected to their abusers...especially after they are free of them. She has moved on.

Yes, I'm a diver and did some search & recovery in the past. There are many ROV's now which are relatively inexpensive (starting at around $5,000) and do the job well. With this being such a high-profile case, it would be a great opportunity for some team or organization to donate their services (hint, hint).

In an environment like this, it would be most efficient to locate the object to be recovered with the ROV, then recovering it using divers.

Here are some interesting links on one of these smaller ROV's available:
