Makes me wonder if Mark only contacted the Bayfield Marshall because he knew that Elaine was going to call the Durango Sheriff or had already called them. I can't believe I'm that behind on that thought......

I'm more interested in whether he called or went to the Sheriff's office in Durango at 6pm. Is there no recorded phone call from MR to 911 or to the Sheriff's office? Would they even record a call to the Sheriff's office? Or just to 911?

I have two questions and I'm sorry if its been asked and answered before. Since they didn't search MR's house right away how long could a cadaver dog alert to a deceased person after they have been moved? Another question, when was MR ordered to start paying child support? TIA

I just had a thought. Mark originally said he wanted to be at the payroll office by 7:30. Then he said he tried to wake Dylan up for 45 minutes to an hour. If he arrived later than 7:30 at the payroll office, that could mean that he made the statement about not being able to get Dylan up to account for his being late at the payroll office. I wonder if he arrived at 7:30 or if he arrived late.

That could be easily verified so I would imagine he arrived closer to 8:30am. Problem is that there is no proof that he arrived there from his home in Vallecito. I do not believe there is any video showing vehicles on the road between the two places.

If LE thinks there's likely someone in the lake, I wouldn't expect them to say so until they definitively know. For multiple reasons many stated in the last thread, but also in consideration of families of the missing. It'd be irresponsible of them to publically say, "Yes, we think Dyan's in the lake" until they've had time to assemble a team and begin a thorough search. It'd likewise terrorize some if they said, "We believe someone's in the lake, but not Dylan." And both don't make sense until they know if there's a human body in there to begin with.

Moo

Well they should not comment at all then, instead of saying the dogs are wrong or whatever. What if Dylan is eventually found there? They cannot rule it out.

I don't think we do believe this account from MR. Personally I don't think any of the morning events happened. I don't think Dylan was there in the morning.

MOO

BBM~~

Me either

MR's statement that Dylan was passed out like a light Mon morning, could be referring to Sun night.

One of those little bit of truths

Unconscious (?) by whatever(?) means

In the MB interview..he kept focusing on that area on the couch

just my :twocents:

Is it totally weird that there is a ' homeless' population in such a tiny remote area? That is so strange. Especially so since it's such a harsh climate. You would think a homeless population in a really mild climate could survive even in a relatively remote area without a high population .

One of the reasons I basically have not suspected MR is because I grew up on a large farm. We had many farmhands who acted much the same as MR and talked exactly the same way. They did not use proper tenses. It's a whole different world than what we normally work in.

MR is not a "country boy". He himself said that he was a city boy and had to get used to living in Bayfield when they moved for ER's job. I think they lived in the Colorado Springs area before.

I don't know, I don't Facebook. But would it be a known hangout all the time, or just during the milder climates?

I don't remember and can't find the post on FMDR. I just remember her saying after the dogs hit on the area that homeless people were known to hang there.

I wish they would send divers back in. In the Susan Smith case they searched the lake the first time and didn't find anything. When they went in the second time they found the car with the poor babies in it. I don't live far from that lake so I know it's not very big at all. They missed a CAR during the first dive in a small lake.

Also, just several weeks ago a young girl was missing from my area and she was suspected to be in a pond near her home. The first time they searched they didn't find her, but once they drained the pond they found her. This was a pond not a lake.

LE KNOWS there is someone in that lake. Different cadaver dogs can't be wrong. This is what they are trained to do. I am just hoping they are getting a game plan together to recover whoever is in the lake but have their reasons for keeping quiet which LE usually does.

I can't remember the exact date offhand but the custody change took place in September of last year.

I don't think you have to be a true "country boy" to speak like MR. I am born and raised in Texas. As I've stated before in these threads, it is not abnormal to call my boys "those boys" "the boys" "boy 1 and boy 2" thing 1 and thing 2" It's not abnormal here for the men folk to be much like MR. After seeing Dr. P, I despise MR just as much as the rest of you, but going strictly on his speech patterns and choice of words, it doesn't point to his guilt by the way he talks.

I haven't seen a direct quote or press release irt this second set of hits at all. Not sure why some think they've ruled it out?

In fact, the press may be recycling the statements made as to why there were hits but no body found the last time, or poorly paraphrasing what is said.

Another situation I wondered about is if someone came to the door and told DR that his grandmother in CS had gotten sicker and his mother sent them to pick him up. Would he have gone with them?

It could explain the backpack with his belongings being gone.

I apologize, so behind here. And this may have already been said. Another possibility is that calling ER as evening approached was planned. His goal could have been to get her and Cory to come when it was late. He was not far off in thinking they would come, since ER and CR were en-route in less than hour. What may not have been considered was that ER would "over react" (his words I believe in one of the links) and call the police. At which point "All **** broke loose" (his words as well.)

Interesting. I'd add, I also don't think MR expected Elaine to bring Mike along. MOO

If Mark thought Elaine & Cory would just show up to search for Dylan, what do you think his plan was?

Not sure about the alert, but I thought it was said a scent is almost immediate once deceased and a decomp scent could be picked up for a long time.

I don't think it's ever been proven that MR was ordered to pay child support, if it has, please someone hook me up with that link.

They lived north of Denver for quite a number of years.

IIRC decomp scent can be picked up for years

Doesn't explain Mark's actions and conflicting statements though, unless this person would be in collusion with him, and that'd be a convoluted way for Mark to hide him. (I don't think Mark as him hidden. Given his custodial issues before, I can see why the family may have thought this in the beginning.)

But then wouldn't that person have to be somewhat close with the family, to know about the Gma's illness, and to know that D was there, alone at his dad's that morning? It seems like anyone that close would be looked at already. But maybe not.
