"We had a couple of hits in that area," said Wendy Kessenger of K9 Forensics. "What we did is we moved it closer to east side of lake where the five branch rivers flow into each on that side and we had many alerts going off there."

I think this just means they were at the north end and they moved to the east side of the north end of the lake, still within the area where you can clearly see 5 branches of streams flowing into the north end of the lake. I don't think it was down at 5 branches campground.
But, the dam is on the south end, so that's confusing.

"Sadie, Sabor and Jetta came out today to help us see if they could scent in the same areas that the cadaver dogs hit on early in the case," said a posting on the Find Missing Dylan Redwine Facebook page Sunday.

The searchers said they opened five holes in the same area that the earlier search and rescue cadaver dogs had hit on a few days after Redwine went missing.

The searchers also opened another hole near the flow channel.

Each hole was checked multiple times, the family said.

It was stated on FMDR that the holes were opened in the same area where the dogs hit in Nov. and that 2 of Wendy's dogs hit on the same area, and think there is a cadaver in the lake.

"Day 7: Sunday, Nov. 25

A dive team from New Mexico State Police searches the area targeted by cadaver dogs Saturday near the dam at Vallecito Reservoir. No body is found.

Day 9: Monday, Nov. 26

Three law-enforcement boats equipped with sonar trace patterns search three points on Vallecito Reservoir near the dam that cadaver dogs on Saturday indicated were points of interest. Nothing unusual is found."

How deep are the 5 rivers at the north end of the lake in October?

  • #584
What plans have the FBI and local LE made for doing additional investigation of the reservoir?

How much evidence is necessary in order to confer "person of interest" status on MR?

What suggestions did Dr. Phil offer to assist ER in improving communication/interaction with MR?

Has it been verified that MR was the last person to see Dylan?

I read somewhere on the thread that LE said they have a wealth of evidence -- but not enough to point the finger at MR. Have they said MR is at least under a cloud of suspicion, or do you think they don't want him to know they are "onto him."

It would assume that they are talking about the dam area here correct? As, to my knowledge, that is where the dogs hit earlier in the case.

But, it does not say that these dogs hit there, correct?

It is a very confusing read for me.

probably pretty dry. they likely drain the snow melt in the spring from the mtns into the res., but by Oct at least in the front range everything was dry.

I don't know that particular area, but I do know Colorado and my guess is that they would be shallow in October. Colorado is a pretty arid state so the rivers only get deep during snow melt in the spring.

the only place I've seen is stated that dogs hit the SAME area as LE in Nov. was on FMDR. otherwise it's very confusing where they hit.

Well....the dam is on the extreme south side of the lake.

I think they have, but they're building their case. Moo

link

When I read that they have many little pieces of evidence and are looking for the piece of the puzzle to link it all together and then they say they watched the DP show to see if they can gather any new info that in itself speaks volumes to me.Even though they have not named MR as a suspect why else would they watch the show?

Does anyone know if the private investigator,Tracy Kostecki, who offered to help Mark Redwine and the family search for Dylan is still helping them?

Well....the dam is on the extreme south side of the lake.

I know - and they mention opening holes in the flow channel which is the spillway which is the narrow part on the south end that is man made and flows into the dam.
but the 5 branches meet the lake at the north end.
CONFUSING!

and I remember them saying something about being near Pura Vida cafe which is just north on the west side of the dam.

I agree. It surprises me still, that no arrests have been made, no suspects named. These are very experienced and dedicated LE, and I would think they would have found something incriminating. But apparently not.

What makes you say they are an experienced LE? I am not saying they aren't...but it's a county of 50,000 residents. I doubt they have much experience with missing children or even murder cases.

AFAIK, we've seen nothing specific irt pending LE searches beyond one article and quote posted last night that they'd be searching this weekend.
How much evidence is necessary in order to confer "person of interest" status on MR?
“A person(s) of interest simply means that Law Enforcement is interested in speaking with those who they feel can assist or provide information regarding an investigation,” she said in an email.
A person of interest does not carry any direct implication of culpability without an admission of guilt or further evidence that links the individual with the crime.
Tony Gaskew, director of the criminal justice program at the University of Pittsburgh’s Bradford campus, said the term “person of interest” carries no legal definition. Police may use the phrase to identify any individual connected with a case, such as a possible witness to a crime or the person they believe committed the act.
Gaskew emphasized that law enforcement distinguishes between a person of interest, which does not implicate a person directly in a crime, and the term suspect, which does.

What suggestions did Dr. Phil offer to assist ER in improving communication/interaction with MR? There are full transcripts of the Dr Phil shows available in the media thread. We don't know what he may have advised her away from cameras.

Has it been verified that MR was the last person to see Dylan? At one time, Mark himself stated he was the last person. LE has had no confirmed sightings of Dylan. Links in compilation post in media thread/tagged in last thread.

I read somewhere on the thread that LE said they have a wealth of evidence -- but not enough to point the finger at MR. Wealth of evidence quote and link posted on this page. Haven't seen any quote irt the green portion.Have they said MR is at least under a cloud of suspicion, or do you think they don't want him to know they are "onto him."

The task force includes multiple agencies, including CBI and FBI.
