BBM - I think that is hurting my head tonight. Mark interacting with Dylan (violence, anger, pleading from Mark, fearfulness from Dylan, although I don't see fearfulness on the Walmart picture) would be very important if they believe Mark is responsible. Interacting with others? Maybe trying to find someone else that knew Dylan was at the house? Maybe trying to find out if anyone thought Mark had been drinking or was acting strangely?

Glad to have some things confirmed as facts. Now if only Bender would end his press releases with, "And this is what we think happened....":banghead:

He's got to save something for the trial! :moo:

I am gratified that some things have been cleared up and we no longer have to speculate about them or have it brought up that it's not confirmed. Like even after LE released the info about the 9:37 pm text from Dylan's phone, it didn't get taken as truthful until Elaine confirmed it, which took MONTHS. So for MONTHS we discussed it AFTER LE told us about it. IMO, JMO.

I am a self-reported grammar nazi, and there is nothing in the Press Release which is poorly written. In fact, I would bet that each-and-every word within the communication was written with very deliberate intention.

Although it is my belief that it was artfully worded, and with good intent, there are others (in general) that may be employed in the business of proofing documents and may be better suited to advise us (in geneal) on the entire document. I work in finances so I'm no expert in documents. IMO

Per Tricia I was asked to post this new press release

News Release: LPCSO Update on Investigation of Disappearance of Dylan Redwine
Date/ Time: 4:00PM MST Tuesday March 19th 2013
Source: Dan Bender, PIO La Plata County Sheriff’s Office Durango, Colorado

Narrative:
According to the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, on November 19, 2012, the day Dylan Redwine was reported missing, there was a reported sighting by a local postal worker indicating that Dylan was seen walking with another boy in Vallecito at about 2:00 PM. Investigators have identified and contacted these two young people and determined they have no connection to Dylan’s disappearance. Investigators continue to investigate reported sightings in Colorado and other states, but to date, none have been confirmed.
*snip*
Dylan was reported missing on Monday, November 19, 2012, when Dylan’s mother, Elaine Redwine, contacted the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office at about 5:30 PM to report that Dylan was missing from his father’s home in Vallecito. Mark Redwine, Dylan’s father, had previously contacted the Bayfield Marshal’s Office on the 19th attempting to learn if they had seen Dylan, and he then contacted Elaine asking if she had heard from Dylan.
*snip*
Elaine Redwine, Dylan’s brother Cory Redwine, and Elaine’s fiancé Mike Hall remained in the Colorado Springs area when Dylan flew to Durango by himself on November 18th for a Court ordered visit with Mark Redwine for the Thanksgiving holiday. Elaine, Cory and Mike were still in the Colorado Springs area when Mark sent the message to Elaine the following afternoon asking about Dylan. Shortly after receiving Mark’s inquiry, Elaine, Cory and Mike traveled to Durango.
*snip*
Investigators learned that Mark met Dylan at the Durango-La Plata County Airport at about 5:45 PM Sunday, November 18th. Investigators confirmed that Dylan arrived at Mark’s home on Sunday at about 8:00 PM after stops at Wal-Mart and McDonald’s in Durango.

End Release. DLB

Thanks to Raine1212 for posting this. I'm sure it will be up on official LE websites soon.

There are several important points in this press release.

1- The sighting of Dylan has now been ruled out

2- We now know it was Elaine who reported Dylan missing

3- We now know Dylan aboslutely did make it home to his father's house from the airport.

Still have not heard back from Mark Redwine in regards to my invitation to appear on my radio show. I'll try one more time.

Thank you everyone. Dylan's threads are very important. You are doing your part to keep Dylan's name and case in the forefront of the media.

Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do on Websleuths.

Tricia

Investigators confirmed that Dylan arrived at Mark’s home on Sunday at about 8:00 PM after stops at Wal-Mart and McDonald’s in Durango.

---

So, this answers my question about Dylan making it to Mark's house.

Now I want to know if the dogs picked his scent up outside the house/around the house/down the road.....

I hope it doesn't take another 4 months to get the answer....

Praying that Mark will get back with Tricia and goes on her Radio show.......

Okay - heads up everybody. I posted hours ago and asked that you stop bickering over the "quality of the writing style" here. Apparently, everyone skipped over that post?

Please stop with the bickering. It's not necessary. Everyone can read the release and come to their own conclusions. It's OKAY. You don't have to agree. It's OKAY. Just sail on by that post like you didn't even see it and let it goooooooooo..... It's OKAY.

Thanks,

Salem

BBM - the press release indicates they don't know if something happened inside the house or outside the house. Would one of those be excluded if dogs had or had not found his trail outside the house? Looking for opinions.

This is a good question. Very early in the case it was rumored dogs had followed his trail to the intersection of 500 & 501 - but... from this press release, I would say that is not true. I would say LE doesn't know if Dylan left the house. So... I'm a bit disappointed because I always hoped that was a solid clue. I guess not, huh?

Sorry, I'm not sure about that, I'm going to think about it. But, I was wondering if HRD dogs were ever at MR's house?

Sorry, I'm still looking for a link to the entire press release - do we have one here yet? TIA am on my ipad and not very adept at searching threads yet :/

I don't think we know and my understanding is that LE won't discuss if dogs were used inside the house or what type of search dog was used - scent v. HRD.

Just my understanding of where we are with the dogs.

IMO all the press releases that have come from Bender have stated that a report was filed around 530 or 6 pm. I'm pretty certain this release was proofed by someone, so the failure to put that MR reported Dylan missing to the Marshall's office IMO is not a typo.

Did you miss this:

Mark Redwine, Dylan’s father, had previously contacted the Bayfield Marshal’s Office on the 19th attempting to learn if they had seen Dylan, and he then contacted Elaine asking if she had heard from Dylan.

Investigators learned that Mark has said.... Why not just say, Mark said. Doesn't seem like it was learned at all and LPCSO needs someone with some writing skills. Hate to be picky about it, but we pour over the words as if they are gospel.:banghead:

In this instance, I think that LPCSO did indeed choose their words very carefully, and intentionally. So our "pouring" (sic) ;-) over them is probably okay.

I don't think anyone missed it; it seems that people are pointing out that it appears that MR did not file a _report_. Rather, he asked if the Marshals had _seen_ him (Dylan).
