I agree that some evidence points to MR, but I do not agree that all evidence points to him.

Snipped your post only to focus on this specific statement.

If you could, would you share what you see as evidence that points away from MR? And, which do you see that points to him?

I'm just trying to see this from your point of view as I don't think there's much of any evidence at all right now except circumstantial... At least no solid evidence that the LE has shared with the public to this point.

There is evidence that further searching is required that couldn't be done 4 months ago in regard to the lake itself, however, no-one can be positive that the hits on the lake are definitely related to this case, or whether another person may be in there.

I had to stop visiting this site for a while because the worrying and stress of poor little Dylan was eating at me day and night and was just becoming too much for me.

I think it is time for another break, as I don't seem to be able to state my opinions in a very good way.

I apologize very, very sincerely if I have offended anyone here.

I hope you are able to come back soon... I would very much be interested in your POV in regard to the post I directed to you a little before this one. I am interested in which evidence you see as pointing to MR, and which evidence you see as pointing elsewhere (and where you see it pointing to).

I am definitely of the opinion that MR had something to do with all of this, and knows way more than he is telling. However, I am open to differing opinions. It doesn't mean I'll agree, or that I won't respond with my own explanations of why I disagree, but I'm still interested in hearing your opinions.

Even if others are being 'mean' in your opinion, don't let that stop you from speaking out. You have a right to your opinion, and to express it. If someone goes over the line in your opinion as far as berating you or something, then alert a mod to the post.

We all want Dylan back home - that's for sure. We all want answers to these questions. Without give and take, and looking at different viewpoints, and being challenged upon those points then why discuss any of this at all? y'know?

Anyway, I understand the need to take a break, but hope you will consider coming back soon.

Thank you for posting this. I saw this earlier but wasn't sure how to get it here. This is very interesting. When they say pedestrian traffic, they are meaning someone walking through the area, correct?

ETA I know there was a rumor of dogs tracking to the intersection of cr500 and cr501. Is this that same area?

Hi all, I have zero spare time to go through the thread, is there any news? Is it possible for someone to give me a link to where I can get up to date? :please:

Hi, FruitTingles! :seeya:

I'm not sure how caught up you are right now, but here are two notable updates from the past week:

  • Tuesday, March 19: the [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9070558&postcount=76"]LPCSO Update on Investigation of Disappearance of Dylan Redwine[/ame] press release was issued by Dan Bender, PIO for the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Sunday, March 17: Tricia (co-owner of Websleuths) interviewed Elaine on her radio show. While the [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202255"]discussion thread for the show[/ame] is now closed, you can still listen to the show from the archive.

Hope that you and Anaya are doing well. :)

pedestrian and vehicle traffic - I would think anyone walking/running or driving any type of vehicle

specifically from north Co. Rd. 500 down to intersection of Co. Rd. 501 - I take this to mean from Mark's house south to 501 intersection

the dogs tracking a scent was a FB RUMOR never confirmed by LE (but yes this is the intersection)

The only scent detection verified by LE were the hits at the lake from the HRD dogs.

Thanks. I figured what vehicle traffic was but wanted to be sure if pedestrian meant the same as I thought. I'm glad to see LE is still working on this case. I mean, I know they're still working on it, but I'm glad they're actively working on it. Hope they find something soon and bring Dylan home where he belongs.

Investigators learned that Mark met Dylan at the Durango-La Plata County Airport at about 5:45 PM Sunday, November 18. Investigators confirmed that Dylan arrived at Mark's home on Sunday at about 8:00 PM after stops at Wal-Mart and McDonald's in Durango.

Investigators learned that Mark has said he last saw Dylan at around 7:30 AM Monday, November 19, 2012 at his home in Vallecito when Mark left for Durango to run errands. Investigators have also learned Mark returned home at about 11:30 AM and discovered that Dylan was gone.

I know we touched up on this previously. The learned/confirmed may mean....

learned: from another source (airport/walmart pictures or the Marshal's Office or someone else talking about what Mark told them or before they did official interview with Mark)???

confirmed: LE has enough or viable information that would hold up in court???

JMO

Huh. Using Learned vs Confirmed consistently, it would mean that they do not have confirmation that Mark picked up Dylan at the airport. No video? Maybe Mark did not go inside the airport to get him? Hm. "We" pops back into my mind.

Catching back up and jumping off of your post... I do recall reading here early on that minors had to be signed for by the person who was supposed to get them. I assume ER would name MR as the person picking him up from the airport? I don't recall ever seeing the rules confirmed for this particular airline though, and it seemed to vary across carriers. IIRC his age was a factor in Dylan not having to change planes. I'm sorry, I really don't remember if I saw most of this in MSM or if it was mainly speculation here. I don't think it was FB rumor though, just people sharing personal experience. I'll see if I can find anything.

There is that still shot from video of Dylan in the aiport but I've thought it odd that there was no MR shown in that or the Walmart one, at least not what was released. Is Dylan one of those teenagers that walks 20 steps in front of their parent so they aren't "seen" with Mom or Dad? Doesn't seem like it from what we've read but could be? Particularly if he was upset about something or not feeling great.

On the flipside it was also confusing to me what "minor traveling alone" meant to different airlines, plus of course MR's "we" which might just be an odd wording choice IMO. It seemed like some airlines are a lot stricter than others, and it also seemed like the rules varied depending on both the airline and the child's age. I know technically a 17 year old is a "minor" but I have to think the flying rules are different for a 10 year old vs. say a 17 year old (random ages picked for example's sake). Dylan at 13/almost 14 seems like he'd be right on the edge - I mean heck he could get in a car and DRIVE if he wanted to before much longer so I imagine your average airline and average parent would think he'd be alright carrying his backpack to a seat.

Even after all this time I feel like I flip-flop on what may have happened to him. I keep holding out hope even though I know it's so unlikely that he's ok.

Boy did it take me a lot of words to say I'm still sad, still confused, so very many questions, and still worried for Dylan. :(

to drive from Mark's to county road 501 is about 6 minutes; it's about an hour's walk.

Hmmm is it just me, or does this seem like not that long a walk for a potentially bored 13 year old? Eat some cereal, it's going to be soooo long before Dad gets home to give you a ride - remember how long an hour felt when you were that age and anticipating something? Maybe he really did head out for a 'quick' wander and something happened. I was having a very hard time swallowing the many miles to his nearest friends' houses - was seriously shaking my head at the Dr. Phil show when they showed the map - but an hour? That could go by quickly if you just started wandering and exploring.

It doesn't explain the phone, or the texts/lack of texts, or the fishing pole if it existed... I just find an hour walk to be a much more likely possibility than him setting out on a 6 mile walk or a solo fishing trip. I could see heading out to explore and an hour getting away from him. I do still sadly think that MR had something to do with his disappearance, especially because of the phone/texting thing, but these doubts creep in. Now I'm finding myself having to wrestle with which is worse, MR doing something? Random stranger?

I'm constantly flip-flopping myself. Dylan not texting in the morning is a huge hole for me, yet on the flip side there's other things I've read that makes me think it's possible someone else may be responsible. The fact that MR isn't in the Walmart picture doesn't do anything for me, because we all know what MR looks like. I felt is was merely to show how Dylan looked before he disappeared. MOO

nikb - snipped your post in order to focus on time/going for a walk scenario...

Why would DR only walk to the intersection though? Isn't his friend T's house all the way by the lake - hence why they referred to 6 miles, vs. 2 miles? Why would he stop there?

I'll have to go back and look to make sure, but I was under the impression that they were looking for information about pedestrian and vehicle traffic on both CR 500 and CR 501 between 7pm on Sunday 11/18 and 7pm Monday 11/19.

Also, dependent upon how quickly one was walking, and the terrain, it's not inconceivable to walk 6 miles in an hour and a half... (giving 15 mins. per mile - back in Jr. High we had to walk a mile in 12 mins. to get a passing grade which wasn't that swift of a pace as I recall... my best time was a 6:30 mile running though, and I was on cross-country so I don't remember ever walking the whole course. lol) I do know that walking home from school (1.5 miles) only usually took me about 20-25 minutes.

I haven't changed my mind in regard to the scenario I believe - I think the wording of "somehow left" MR's house was specific instead of a random choice of wording. I have a feeling they don't believe DR left under his own power, but admit that's totally speculation at this point.

ETA: I see that the flyer that was posted does specify CR 500 to the intersection at CR 501.
(Going to check the press release)

ETA 2: I see on the press release from 3/19 that they did say on either CR 500 or CR 501, so that's where I remember them mentioning 501 itself, and not just to the intersection. That would make more sense to me as iirc CR 501 is the "loop" around the lake, and would presumably be the route DR would take to go to his friend T's house.

Regarding the intersection - I've always thought this would have been a place to wait for a ride, maybe in the hope that a familiar vehicle would pass by on the busier road.

I know someone found the airline name and I think even flight times before (thanks to whoever found it!). There weren't many that had a mechanical/technical delay the day before, no plane changes, and were running late the day Dylan arrived. Argh can't believe I can't find it so far but I will look again.

I could understand that. I went back and checked and where I remembered them wanting info on both CR 500 and CR 501 was from the press release on 3/19.

While they may be looking for people who may have seen DR during that time, it's also very likely they are looking for anyone who can corroborate MR's movements on Monday morning and Monday afternoon as well. I also notice they are asking for any tips on anything unusual for the neighborhood, so perhaps that's why the flyer only speaks about that section of road?

This is all speculation, of course... I really don't know what they are looking for - could be anything at this point I suppose. I can't imagine anyone in the neighborhood remembering anything who wouldn't have come forward with that information already, but who knows...

I'm just praying for some kind of a break. Some indication of what happened to this little boy. I still feel that he is likely in the lake. I still feel that MR knows way more than he is letting on... I can't imagine how frustrating this must be for the LE agencies at this point, but I would think they are re-checking everything just to be sure they didn't overlook anything.

As always, all of the above is MOO! :cow:

I just realized the closest I've come so far are some of your posts Coldhands. lol. So I'm sure you remember them and I don't think we ever found an answer for sure. One seemed very likely but I don't think it was confirmed, unfortunately. I'll keep looking around though.
