I don't know if his attempt failed or not. Obviously it wasn't that successful, since Dylan is missing. My point was the word attempt also means try. I wasn't comparing my attempt to bathe my dog other than to show the meaning of the word attempt. As far as the wording of the press releases...I can easily picture Barney Fife using the thesaurus.
That seems to me to be rather demeaning to the Sheriff's Office and those working for them, especially their PR person. This isn't exactly Mayberry, and the picture of Keystone Kops, or Barney Fife is a very derogatory statement to make. An officer like Barney Fife wouldn't stay on the job for very long, and neither would a person tasked with writing press releases for the Sheriff's Office.
Those employed in PR or as a media director usually have a degree in Communications, or Advertising, or Marketing. The wording of a press release is usually very specific. In this instance, there are only two words that would suffice "to attempt", or "to try". Hardly something one would need to refer to a thesaurus for.
It's interesting that your apparent view of the LPCSO and the Task Force (with members from the CBI) is that of being inept, and unqualified. May I ask why you hold that opinion? Does it have anything to do with MR accusing them of using a polygraph operator that he thought was incompetent - which the LE later reiterated was completely qualified, and that there was no question in regard to that fact?
All of the above is MOO! :cow:
PS - I'm still kind of behind catching up on things and researching for some of my answers. I apologize if I haven't answered posts directed to me over the last 2 pages yet! LOL My head is spinning!
