Standoff concludes peacefully at Vallecito Reservoir dam

Negotiators counseled the woman through a public-address system because cellphone service at the reservoir is not good, said Undersheriff David Griggs.

It also looks like there was already a smaller lake already in existence before the rest of the area was flooded. It looks to me like they might only have cut down trees and/or graded on the flood plain, and the original smaller lake was just left as it was. I don't know this lake, but many of the lakes I have canoed have things in them that have fallen, no one bothers to get them out, so they remain as underwater hazards. (I have nearly run into a few fallen trees with branches barely sticking out of the water.) Does anyone know, is Vallecito lake ever dragged and cleaned out, or is it au naturel in regards to what falls in it?

Oh that is really interesting...as it goes back to to the timeline what is crucial in a missing person case In this case it is cell service and what is documented so to speak, as fact to what Mark says. Didn't he say once you hit the dam, you got reception? If we go to LE timeline; Mark & Dylan were home at about 8:00. If you choose to ck Mark's words when they left from McDonalds range to home from my memory range from 8:15 to 8:30. ALWAYS found that strange! Big clue in my mind; is there a reason & is there something that should be added up?

ETA - From the press release ~ they arrive at 'shortly after 8:00' (better go back to the exact new release at this is crucial). Many people feel something happened in this time period, therefore IMO it is work looking at. Funny how Ryan's last texts & being backing in the area of cell phone range...everything ends at least that we know on the cell phone according to Mom. Forgetting the final test at 9:37... this time frame has been majorly lacking. Hello...is this where the nerf came in????

I feel like a genius this morning :) .......but it's only because I've been an idiot for weeks. I was thinking how in the heck does a lake get that DEEP ? How can it be, that's so deep it doesn't make any sense. Then I remembered it's in a mountain and mountains are tall and have lots of depth for water ! It's not that I'm not smart enough to figure things out but I didnt' give it enough thought ! So , let's start this week with a fact......mountains are DEEP! LOL

My bold and blue.

IMO what Mark says in these regards lines up with what LE states, and the quoted post that "cellphone service at the reservoir is not good".

First bold/blue - In the Blasius interview, he said "past the dam".

Mark Redwine:
Well, there’s not a lot of cell phone service between Durango and the lake up here, and it’s not until you come up past the dam that you actually can get your cell phone service as a Verizon customer.

Second bold/blue - In the Blasius interview, he said they left McDonald's "around 7:30ish", and that they arrived home "about 8:15 - 8:30ish".

Mark Redwine:
We left McDonalds probably around 7:30’ish, and it’s about a 45 minute drive from Durango to get up here. So, we would have been here probably about 8:15 - 8:30’ish, somewhere in there…

7:22 p.m. Dylan at Durango McDonalds

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/new...3-year-old-dylan-redwine-in-durango-vallecito

Third bold/blue - wording of press release "at about 8:00 PM"

Investigators confirmed that Dylan arrived at Mark's home on Sunday at about 8:00 PM after stops at Wal-Mart and McDonald's in Durango.

Mountains aren't DEEP (as you said) ... they are TALL. lol.

For instance ... Dallas, TX is 430 feet above sea level. That's a "flat lander" to me. COME here to above 7,900 (where I live in NM) and we'll talk and see what happens. JMO

It is dreadful to see hours and hours pass without any activity here, even though it was always heading this way. When LE is completely silent, and the family can only do so much, cases simply seem to come to a halt. Hard to believe that even this thread, one of the most active here in a while, suffers the same fate.

It has not helped the thread has been moved as its a lot harder to find now.

I just hope the lake when searched brings results as the family need to know what happened.

This is going to sound foolish. But I wish when investigators feel they have exhausted every avenue, there was a system in place to call in a team of laypersons to pour over what LE has. LE, rightfully, is a fact finding body. They act on hard facts. Lay people sometimes go on gut feelings, and knowledge based on their life's career which might make something stand out that wouldn't stand out for LE. People would have to be vetted and sign some kind of non-disclosure. If they had such a thing, I would be at the front of the line to volunteer.

I've seen some cold cases get crowd-sourced recently. But it would be horrible to wait that long.

its terrible to see Dylans thread so quiet. there's nothing new to discuss which makes it difficult to know what to say.

Still hoping daily that Dylan will be found and that justice will be served.

That is not at all foolish, its a great idea with a lot of merit. If only that sort of thing had been in place for the C Anthony case.

people from various walks of life can bring fresh perspective and possibly find clues that can lead to cases being resolved.

I'd join the line to volunteer too.

hoping to hear that the searches will start again soon.

I think the starting point should be Mark's house and out from there.

It is terrible to see it so quiet. Particularly since it was so active only very recently. I think that there's still tons of stuff to discuss -- it just became difficult to do so.

JMO, IMO

Still thinking of Dylan, and praying that Elaine and her family get some peace very soon.

what are the family doing to keep Dylan in the news?

has that also gone quite ?

Hey this reminds me of a great idea I had a few years ago. We should DO THIS ! I wanted to call some station like discovery but now that there is the ID channel, it would be the place. For cold cases with interactive / audience participation ! This case would be perfect as well as TONS of the others ones we've poured through. They do an hour on the show showing everything they know ( AND LE I MEAN EVERYTHING) and then the rest goes online and perhaps a follow up in one month. Viewers get online to a certain page set upand give in their tips and discuss with each other, etc. Then all of the new evidence , tips, ideas are compiled and presented to LE ! Boom! I think it would be great, especially for the really old cases. WS TV anyone? :P

I am at a loss as to what his mom, etc. should be doing, to be honest. If Elaine calls up the media every day, won't they want to know what is new? And if she has nothing to offer, what can or will they do? All cases seem to get to this point, where the family seems to become somewhat invisible, while their missing loved one must still occupy all of their thoughts. I guess the next news will come when they have firm dates for the lake searches. But with LE so utterly silent, it becomes difficult to hang onto a belief that anything is happening or that they are any closer.
