What profile from Sutter would make you believe that he would snatch a little boy? I'm not defending this low life by any means, IMO there are so many levels of crimes and one does not equal the other. Women get raped & killed but that doesn't mean that every rapist is a killer. Children (sadly) get abused sexually all the time, but the family pedo may never ever touch the neighbor down the street and vice versa. IMO pictures of child porn is sick enough, but thatat doesn't mean that this guy goes out and kidnaps strangers or kids in the area. He could look at pictures for his own gratification/satisfaction, he could look at pictures and get gratification/satisfaction somewhere else with an adult, he could look at pictures and abuse family members, his own children, his nieces/nephews/cousins etc. It's also vice versa, a person could snatch a child and do horrific things all the while never once looking at a child porn photo.

IMO - one does not equal the other. This guy IMO is disgusting and I would think that LE is carefully looking at many previous investigations and cases that he may have touched just to make certain that no cases have been compromised based on the knowledge that they now have. I just can't see this being linked to Dylan other than the location.

In my opinion, anyone who collects child porn is apt to molest a child, and anyone who molests a child is apt to kill a child.

It's just based on knowledge I've gained in studies and so forth I've read, and observations in cases I've followed, for decades. I have no links to offer.

You're probably right but in a small jurisdiction like this , with little other crime going on, isn't is reasonable to assume anyone who wasn't busy might have helped with this or that ? Maybe one group went out and did the interviews and bring back their info and someone at the office is to sift through and look for red flags or check the alibis via phone or what not. I'm just thinking out loud.

Dylan probably would have felt safe with him. I wonder also if this guys family knew any of the Redwine family. I'm trying to figure out how much of a tie there is between the two families.

I am kind of with you on that one...that they probably would be used to weed out others. See where they were at the time of the disappearance, gauge reactions to see if any may have acted hinky, while investigators interviewed the RSOs in the area and others they needed to clear.

IMO - if anyone in the Redwine family from Bayfield knew this guy, we would have heard about it long ago. MR & EH were each assigned an officer as a liaison and to help them out (I believe MR mentioned that in one of the msm reports) I would think that if either of them knew an officer from LPSO or any of the other agencies, they would assign that person to be the liaison from a pure comfort level. I know that EH (from communications, so no link) did not know of him.

You know, I would be more inclined to dismiss Sutter if he was interested in girls. But he had a sexual interest in BOYS. He will remain on my radar until LE says he isn't connected to Dylan's case.

Thanks for that link! It was very informative. It says that the Mayo Clinic studies indicate that 30% to 80% of individuals who viewed child pornography and 76% of individuals who were arrested for internet child pornography had molested a child. --- It would be interesting to find out if this so called "officer" had pictures or a pictures from the internet or a combination. Scary when you take into account the number of offenders that are never caught. Yikes!!!

You know , this gives me a new idea. I was thinking before maybe this deputy was involved but surely they would know by now. BUT people who look at child porn have to get it somewhere and send it somewhere. They have a network of other child porn viewers. It's very interesting it's involving boys. So could this deputy have been in charge of interviewing any of the RSO or unknown SO's that he might have KNOWN were into the child porn as well but didn't interview them too deeply so as not to get them caught and in turn put himself in the limelight ? Run on sentence/question, sorry. Did that make sense?

ETA for clarity. Could the deputy know a perv through his porn contacts who knows something about Dylan and deputy covered for it because he didn't want his own perversion to become public ?

I believe that this is absolutely a possibility.

I am absolutely convinced that LE is looking at this guy with Dylan in mind. I can't discount this guy and his proximity raises tons more questions. I'm not certain that perversion regarding children follows a path, although child pornography would seem a gateway into actual actions. <modsnip>

I 100% agree with you. I can't discount this guy either. I hope LE checks into his whereabouts very, very well.

Absolutely agree, Clu. This would have been done even before the public became aware of the allegations against this cop. Good grief, anyone who doubts this doesn't have any idea how an investigation is conducted.

I agree and I didn't see anyone say they thought LE failed in this regard. I did see Mix say that she hopes they looked very closely. I believe they did and that they still are investigating this man as the prosecution builds it's case. What is speculation is whether or not there is a connection to Dylan--either the case of him missing or with his family.

Why would they make a press release saying he has no connection? They wouldn't make a press release saying he has no connection in any of the other unsolved La Plata County crimes so why this one?

It's ridiculous to think that they aren't still investigating him. They could very well be.
