Right. I do believe that Dylan had a fishing pole and that the fishing pole is probably not in the dad's house anymore. I think the thing some of us are wondering is why is the fishing pole a part of dad's puzzle? Where does dad's concern that a fishing pole is missing fit in to Dylan being missing?

IMO, JMO, MOO

I'm thinking because one was bought at Wal-Mart, there is a receipt and the fishing pole played into Dylan's disappearance and since it's missing, he needed a cover story??? JMO

Mark Redwine:

"Before I left I nudged him on the shoulder and he acknowledged that he understood that I needed to leave and that if he needed anything that he would just call me.

That clears some things up. At least according to dad's version of that morning.

Mark Redwine:

"That's been one of the frustrating parts in this because the county people that started the investigation don't seem to know how to handle the situation like this."

okay..hmm... well, on one hand I might agree. It does seem like when the FBI got involved progress became more significant. If my kid was missing I'd be lashing out that things weren't being done fast enough,... I don't know. I don't know what to make of this really. I can see it going either way.

I hope he's wrong, but I tend to agree. It seems like with a missing person, you need to get information out right away, but they said right at the start that they wouldn't share any information until the case was over. I'm hoping it isn't because they had already picked the guilty party and have just been looking for proof of it. It seems like too often they (in general, not necessarily this PD) try to make evidence fit their theories rather than make their theories fit the evidence. On the other hand, I've been pretty impressed with how cases I've followed in Colorado have been handled. I guess time will tell.

9news reporter:

"Investigators took an iPod and two vehicles among other items as they searched Mark Redwines home yesterday."

Where is she getting the info about the iPod? Does she have a LE source? Access to the SW? Interesting about it iPod. What are the other items? I'd like a detailed list, please, thanks.

I wonder why they would take an Ipod-either proof Dylan was there or is it an Ipod that is basically an Ipad? I just say that because I am old and Ipod to me means something that plays music, but apparently some have a lot more features now.

I think it's still a little bit possible that Dylan left on his own. I'm leaning towards him leaving the house sometime through the night, if that was the case. It's all just speculation of course, but if MR and DR argued and the phone was turned off, or confiscated at 8pm, then I can see D being so angry that he would just pick up his backpack and leave. Maybe he had some kind of accident in the dark. :twocents::twocents:

He's not just a runaway kid, hiding somewhere though. A runaway kid would plug that phone in asap, charge it up and start calling friends etc. imo

Kinda O/T - I googled KT and honestly don't see what you are all seeing. Not one bit. Sorry Ladies.:moo:

I don't think you have to say jmo. Cause you could easily say "joo." (Just OUR Opinion ;))

A couple of interesting things from that 9 News story:

- Dylan's dad said before he left to run errands he nudged Dylan on the shoulder, Dylan acknowledged he knew his dad was leaving and Mark told Dylan he should call him if he needed anything.

- There were protective orders issued by a judge during and after the divorce.

Oh yeah.... I was filling out a stack of forms that I started yesterday, they were all dated Thurs. 11/29/12 so I zoned out momentarily forgetting today was Friday.

Not to mention I'm watching a Law & Order marathon which narrows it down to all 7 days of the week.

*Prolonged blond moment*

BBM

can my mom come stay with you for a little bit?

Yeah my brother kept talking about getting an Ipod for my nephew (his kid) that would let him play games and access the web and I was like, huh? Do you mean Ipad???
I guess technology passed me by! I am still sporting my pink million years old Ipod Nano.

My opinion is not that I don't believe that Dylan would have hitched a ride..because I have given weight to the statement made by his friends that Dylan was not shy and in their opinion would have been likely to hitch a ride, if not had at some point in time earlier possibly may have even actually hitched a ride from a neighbor, family friends, acquaintance, or even stranger for all we know..

I have given this weight and IMO find it even believable that Dylan would have attempted to hitch a ride IF NEED BE..

IF NEED BE IMO IS KEY ... Again not to sound like a broken record(but really I am) I will again go back to the words of those who know Dylan best.. That if Dylan had overslept, refused to get up early when dad attempted to wake him..if he'd instead woke up after his dad had already left THAT DYLAN WOULD HAVE CONTACTED FRIENDS TO NOT ONLY ASK IF THEIR PARENTS COULD GIVE HIM A RIDE, BUT THAT HE WOULD HAVE CALLED THEM TO LET THEM KNOW WHY HE'D NOT SHOWN UP AT 630AM AS THEY HAD EXPECTED HIM TO.. and his not doing this IMO indicates to me that there was no setting out on foot to get a cell signal..or to hitch a ride...

Now if Dylan had called the friends and learned that nope, none of their parents were avaiable to come pick up Dylan..yes, I absolutely believe that given his friends opinion that AT THAT POINT that Dylan quite likely would have attempted to hitch a ride to get to his friends..jmo..

So, for me its not at all that I believe this young man was somehow above hitching a ride, too shy or somehow otherwise incapable of hitching a ride..that is not my belief.. I just believe that NO MATTER WHAT the situation was that one of the very first things that Dylan would have done upon awaking to an empty house, with dad already long gone, therefor ha img missed his ride to his friends..the very first thing he would have done is contact his friends via text, cell call, or landline call and first let them know he'd missed his ride and that's why he was not yet there..and second to see if any of their family/friends could come pick him up..

IMO that would have happened..and IMO it certainly would have happened before this 13yo naive young boy set out intent on hitching a ride..

All jmo,tho.
