I agree it was a dig at EH's parenting, it still doesn't negate the fact that MR contested the move, we would need to know when EH received confirmation that she could enrol Dylan in a new school.

I would guess that she notified the court when she intended to move to the Springs, and if she did and Dylan moved with her, then she had no choice but to enroll him in the school there, since there was such a long distance between the Springs and Bayfield. I would assume also that she filed papers requesting to be the primary custodian as well at the time of the move. With most divorces and custody issues, the court has no problem with one parent moving clear across a state, but they sometimes forbid them to move out of state without notifying them and getting the judge's approval.

For all we know, Dylan may not have been totally happy with the move since he would be leaving his friends he grew up with. Most kids aren't. We moved several times when I was growing up due to my dad being transferred and I hated having to start in a new school and make new friends. Perhaps that is one reason Mark protested the move, because he knew Dylan didn't want to leave his friends. Just saying.

QUOTE=aust amateur slueth;9385027 funnily enough that interview was after an article that stated where EH worked.

and the reason for Dylans late registration at the school was MR fighting the move, had he not fought the move IMO Dylan would have been registered in time to participate in football if thats a sport he wanted to participate in.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
So not true. ER and DR moved to C Springs in July 2012 WAY before school started in time to register.

Sorry to mess up the multiple quote above. My bad.
BBM for Ransom's part of the post. We don't know if it is true or not. In our area, you have to sign up for football by the beginning of July (something like the 3rd) because they practice starting at the end of July, all through August, and have their first game usually at the end of August. If someone in our area moved here in mid July, they would not be able to sign up for football.

It's possible, but I also moved several times when I was a kid. It was just the way life was, so six schools in 12 years was not a big deal. I had friends all over and thought it was pretty cool to have so many pen pals. It depends on the kid.

I'm trying to figure out how Dylan missing football registration figures in his disappearance. It seems to be more about Mark and Elaine having issues with each other more than anything else.

Do we know for a fact that Dylan was devastated by not being able to play football? If he was, then maybe this is a factor. If not, then it's not a factor at all. It could be just another example of a failed marriage were each side is pointing at each other and saying that their a poor parent. MOO.

Thanks, mijamawi. We try, anyway!

SAR K9's are taught to alert in many different ways. Some trainers teach them to alert based on the the dogs natural reaction to excitement of a correct alert (such as barking, sitting, laying down and waiting, etc.) Often disaster K9s and avalanche trained dogs or dogs trained for extreme cold/deep snow are trained to dig. In a disaster sense, this is typically because rubble is involved and an individual may still be alive underneath, so the idea is to get as close to the scent of the individual as possible. Same goes for avalanche training, where someone may be alive underneath literally yards of snow. HR K9's however (at least the way we train) are trained not to dig unless in a disaster situation. They're trained to sit and bark as loudly as possible until their handler identifies the location of the alert and an extraction team is brought in.

Does anyone know the depth of the snow on the lake at the time that particular K9 was digging/pawing?

HTH.

6-9 inches of ice on the lake, probably 1-2 feet of snow on the ground. Guessing but that's what the pics look like. The disaster response is interesting to read about- thanks for sharing. Far as I know, only one dog team was alerting with digging and pawing.

It's in my personal ' irrelevant' file , like so many other parts of this case that don't seem to matter in where he is now. It's more of a 'see MR' s a bad dude' category. I stipulate that he's a bad dude ! Now where's Dylan? :)

It wasn't like Dylan would never see his friends in Vallecito after he moved to CS. His father lived there and had court-ordered visitations with Dylan throughout the year.

When MR & DR returned from their trip in August, MR said he dropped Dylan off in CS even though Dylan wanted to go home with him and visit his friends. Mark told MB the next time he saw Dylan was at the custody hearing in September so if this is true, Dylan did not fly to Durango to visit his dad on the Labor Day weekend. The next time Dylan visited his father, which was in November, and made plans to see his friends, he didn’t show up.

After Dylan moved to CS at the end of July, from thereon MR blocked all his son's requests to visit his friends. It wasn't Dylan who had a problem with the move, it was MR imo.

She also says her ex-husband was upset that she had received primary custody of the teenager.

because the court documents are sealed we do not have direct access to the evidence, IMO EH has to be very careful what and how she says things pertaining to the custody case.

I am confused about what you mean “Mark contested the custody agreement.”

Imo, if a person 'contests' a custody agreement it means they filed an appeal with the Courts so being 'upset' with a custody agreement doesn't mean they contested a custody agreement.

Elaine stated in several interviews Mark was upset but that doesn’t mean he filed an appeal because filing an appeal over the new custody agreement wouldn’t have made any difference. MOO

Ohio case renews hope for Redwine search

There have been no confirmed sightings and no answers to whether Redwine is dead or alive. Redwine's dad, Mark Redwine, says he will never give up hope.

"We can never stop looking for a missing child and anyone who sees anything that is suspicious needs to let someone know. That's pretty much been my opinion all along in this whole thing," Mark Redwine said.

Mark Redwine says some of his own theories about the search for Dylan are changing.

"I guess I never thought he could still be in the Vallecito area," he said. "After this story broke, obviously it has come to light that it is not an uncommon thing for perpetrators of children to be close to where they go missing from."

Do you have a link that supports this statement? I don't recall Mark doing this although I may have missed it.

Missing Persons' Family Members React To Rescue Of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight

snipped

Lia Howard -- whose 14-year-old nephew, Dylan Redwine, went missing in Colorado on Nov. 12, 2012 -- says the Cleveland case has rejuvenated her family in its quest to find her nephew.

"It shows that missing children can be found even years later," she said Tuesday in a phone interview. "When you don't know where somebody is you put his name out there, because you never know where that someone is."

I think it is a pretty uncommon thing, actually, which is why these cases make such huge headlines. Sadly, a much worse result seems more usual in cases when a child is missing for more than a day or two, and is not with a non-custodial parent.

Ranch,

There was no "blocking all Dylan's requests to visit his friends".

Elaine said Dylan visited with his friends when he visited Mark in September, just the same as he always did.

(Elaine) REDWINE: You know, I didn`t really think anything of it just because, you know, when he`s been with his dad here before, which was over Labor Day weekend was the most recent since we`ve moved -- you know, he kind of did his own thing as far as with his friends.

Thanks for the link The Cheese. It looks like Mark isn't in hiding. He had no problem talking to 9News today.

The news of long lost missing persons being found alive in Cleveland gives hope to all family and friends of missing persons.

Hearing Dylan was interested in playing football really took me by surprise because he was a devoted baseball player. Someone pointed out that football players practice and play during the summer and so do baseball players so Dylan would not be able to play both sports in CS.

MR invented the story about Dylan not being able to play football to voice his resistance over what his ex-wife had done; move Dylan to CS when they still shared joint custody of Dylan. MOO
I'm still not sure that Mark invented the story about Dylan not being able to play football and I don't fault him for not liking Dylan moving further away. It seems natural to me for a parent to resist their child being moved away from them.

If Mark was happy or disinterested about Dylan moving that would give me pause about his character as a father and a human being. MOO.

IIRC MR mentioned the school football story in response to MB's question about whether or not he had talked to Dylan about how he liked his new school. I didn't interpret it as being him slamming ER - it was simply an anecdote he shared in response to a question. The only hint of criticism, if any, was in reference to all children having the opportunity to play football if they wanted in middle school.

New hope for missing child

"You always want to find them alive," said Wendy Kessinger, owner of Special Operations K9 Forensics.

Kessinger has led searches for the missing teen around Vallecito Lake, where Redwine vanished.

"Finding that lifeline," she said. "It gives you that hope, that faith. And let's hope that with Dylan."

snipped

"I have faith," said Denise Hess, one of the founders of the Find Missing Dylan Redwine foundation. "I have faith that what we're doing is going to possibly be for good."

For them, the Ohio women's stories keep them going.

"We just have to maintain hope," Hess said. "We have to hold onto faith that the outcome for Dylan and for all these missing kids as well will have a positive outcome"
