What I found interesting from Mark talking to Tricia is he could have said things differently than he did that would have helped him look better to the people who are convinced that he harmed Dylan.

I was surprised that Mark said, without hesitation, that he had Wi Fi in his home and Dylan would use his I Pod to text from his home. That didn't help him at all but he told the truth. That impressed me greatly.

It was in the press after DP that LE was going to get a warrant for all the tape used to make the show, so likely they would do it again or maybe they were listening? So it didn't impress me he told the truth about that.

I agree that the last person known to be with a missing person should be under suspicion from the beginning. But the investigation should follow the evidence and not just focus on one particular theory that is most convenient. MOO.

IMO the investigation would be following the evidence, unlike the first days where it was assumed that Dylan was a runaway. Something was either found or occurred to change LE's investigation to a criminal investigation. that they are still investigating him all these months later and still want info about his actions and interactions within the community from the sundayevening until 7pm on the monday is important IMO

Ok, brain reset for a minute.

We have MR saying on Tricia's show that he didn't think of the backpack right away. We have articles that, to some, read that he noticed it was missing right away.

So what's the concern? Does this prove something either way?

It's getting late and before I strain my brain on this any more I'd like to know why this is turning into such a big issue.

The concern is that he is telling different stories for a very important period of time---the first moments that his son went missing. I have a big problem with that.

I used to work in a middle school. That was 'lie detection Ground Zero.' Our principal was very, very good at detecting lies. he would bring the kids in and listen to them ramble on and tell the story. Then he'd nicely let them leave and call them in and second and third time. When the stories were inconsistent then he would dig deeper and find they were BSing him.

That is what Mark is doing, imo. there are a few MAJOR differences between the version he told Dec 2nd and the version he told last Sunday. :liar:

V1---he thought D was with his friends already, so he began to text him

v2---he thought D was somewhere alone around the cabin, so he took a nap.

I'm not sure what your question is but in the context of this case the more devices available to Dylan to text or call someone, the less likely he couldn't contact someone after his last confirmed text at 9:37pm Nov 18th.

It doesn't mean that he decided to not text or call anyone of his own free will.

So it's about options to communicate. Thank you.
There were posts that were saying last text was from cell, others said iPod. I am interested in the message.

If there is a difference between these two devices, cell and iPod, and which was used for texting, would someone be kind enough to explain? TIA.
The last known accurate time is very important, and message may be, but I don't get why the device itself is.

a cell phone sends messages directly connected to a phone number, an ipod touch can only send texts through an email account and only when there is a wifi connection available.

the device is important since there has been no activity on Dylans phone since 8pm on the sunday night.

It was in MSM that LE was going to subpena Dr Phil about this case? I never heard that. And that would have been big news.

What does that have to do with what Mark said on Tricia's show?

Do we know that LE is still investigating Mark Redwine all of these months later? Maybe they have moved on to someone else.

This is getting sillier by the minute.

Do you have a link to Mark saying he texted Dylan after he got home? I don't ever recall seeing that. I guess it's futile to ask.

OK, so a few of us have posted the links that you are laughing about above. Any comments ?

here is the link:

When he got back at 11:30, his son's dirty cereal bowl was beside the sink. The television was on Nickelodeon. His son's fishing pole was gone. So was his black-and-gray backpack. A few articles of clothing were left behind on the couch.

"His priority was pretty much with his friends, so I wasn't alarmed," Mark said.

In hindsight, Mark wonders whether Dylan became impatient and hitchhiked. "I can't quite wrap my mind around that yet," he said.

Mark said he tried texting Dylan all afternoon in an area with spotty cellphone service. When he didn't hear anything back by late afternoon, he went to Dylan's friend's house in Vallecito. That friend

An undated photo provided by the La Plata County, Colo., sheriff's office shows Dylan Redwine. Teams are searching around Vallecito Lakes, Colo., for 13-year-old Redwine who has been missing for a week. (La Plata County Sheriff's Office | )hadn't seen him.==================================

So in his interview on 12/2, Mark believed Dylan had gone off with friends, and he noted the pack and pole were gone, so HE TEXTED HIM ALL AFTERNOON, then went and TALKED to the Vallecito friend, and when that friend hadnt heard from him, he became alarmed, and decided to drive to B-town.

IT WAS NOT MY IMAGINATION, thanks.
COMPARE AND CONTRAST with the new version:

He never bothered to look for the pack, that never occurred to him that first day before he went to look for Dylan. He said very clearly that he did not check until the search dog team asked him about it.

So in this version, he returns home, [and rather than noticing the pole and pack are gone, which makes him text Dylan to see if he is with his friends,] he assumes that Dylan is out alone exploring the rocks and the river, so he takes a nap, no worries.

NOTHING ABOUT DYLAN BEING WITH FRIENDS AND HAVING HIS PACK.

What? I was talking about Mark admitting on Tricia's show that he had Wi Fi. How does that turn into someone lying about what LE told him.

Bender said law enforcement would watch Dr. Phil's interviews with the Redwines.

“Whatever information we might be able to glean from the show would be part of our criminal investigation and is not something we can comment on,” he said.

no wonder theres been no big news about it.

Mark could not lie on Tricias show because Elaine and Cory were listening. If he tried to say he had no wifi, they would have texted Tricia and said he lied.

That is exactly what they did about the mail lady and other things.

has there been any MSM or press releases by LE stating that they are not still investigating MR? or that they have moved on to someone else?

I don't recall there being any

Dee10 used the word "warrant" and I used the word "subpena" in our posts.

We didn't say anything about LE watching broadcast TV.

he would have been caught out by LE is he had lied and said he didn't have wifi.

I am sure they want to clear him and move on. Which is why they allegedly asked him to retake his poly. But if he keeps telling inconsistent stories of the events they will have a tough time moving on, imo.

Yes, I do have comments. Thank you.

First, I wasn't laughing about anything. I don't know where you got that from.

Onwards. For me to determine if I see substantial, meaningful changes to the factual information a person gives when they talk about the same thing at different times, I need to compare what the person actually says at one time, to what the person actually says at a different time.

Comparing what you said MR said, to what a reporter said Mark said, to what Mark actually said won't show anything to me. I would end up with the results of a comparison of apples to oranges to bananas to see what the differences are. The results would be expected, predictable, meaningless, and the exercise fruitless. (No pun intended.)

So it's about options to communicate. Thank you.
There were posts that were saying last text was from cell, others said iPod. I am interested in the message.
It is also about changing options to communicate. If Dylan originally texted friends on his cell phone, why switch to the iPod Touch? Did the battery in the cell phone go dead? Did the cell phone get damaged? Did the cell connection stop working? And why only one text from the iPod? Did the connection stop working? Did no one reply, so he stopped texting? Did the iPod get damaged? Did either or both get taken away from him, that night or the next day, by anyone? Did he need to use the iPod to text another Mac system with iMessage to avoid SMS (texting) charges?

For myself, if I take each option and add them together in different ways, I get possibilities of what might have happened, and why Dylan might not have communicated the next day. Some make more sense than others. By the time I finished (several months ago), I could not come up with any reason why Dylan would willingly stop communicating with everyone, with both devices, short of something happening to both devices, not having a charge cord for either and both batteries went dead or something happening to Dylan.

That is the sticking point for a lot of people. What 13 year old wants to text badly enough to change texting devices, yet stops texting altogether at 9:37 PM without starting again the next day?

Sorry for long winded response. But it did make me think about the possibility of needing to switch to the iPod for iMessage capabilities.
